"Pop over to Pez in downtown Miami for a taste of Baja. Choose from an array of tempting menu items but don't skip the Ensenada-style tacos for a true taste of the coast. "This restaurant is temporarily closed.Pop over to Pez in downtown Miami for a taste of Baja. This brightly colored space with pops of red and teal doles out regional Mexican food with real style. The kitchen is laser focused on Baja, expertly preparing seafood specialties with quality products. Warm hospitality enlivens the place, where guests may be greeted with a small cup of seafood broth. Choose from an array of tempting menu items but don't skip the Ensenada-style tacos for a true taste of the coast. Classic in that golden-brown, crispy way, it's topped with shredded cabbage slaw for a perfect hit of zing. "Newcomer to the thriving Mexican scene in Miami, Pez shines a light on the seafood-centric food of Baja California. Spicy lovers will want to order the aguachile tradicional de camarón, a piquant chilled broth (aguachile literally translates to spicy water) made with shrimp, lime juice, cucumber and onions as well as chiltepin, a mad hot chili from Sonora." - Alona Martinez

I travel all over and I am a picky eater when I tasted the food there it was top of it class. The staff was amazing the place was clean very retro high end look. I can go on and on. The prices for the food quality were on point. Fresh food that even after you leave you can still taste some of the great essence of the it. Love love love it I highly recommend this place. Yes its in downtown Miami but worth the drive and the experience. A.Melo National Gold Medalist Photographer.

Excellent food!!! Tacos de mariscos like I haven’t had in the US. Restaurant is very clean, service is excellent. You won’t be disappointed, I will Definitely come back with my friends.

Google
Every section of this menu is a highlight, from cocktails to dessert. Baja food for ceviche lovers; plenty of original but still authentic tacos (perfectly cooked octopus!); fresh fish that delights from the first bite to the last. With perfectly seasoned salsas on the side, this place will never disappoint!

This places is amazing! Really reminded of a seafood restaurant back home in Mexico. The service was lovely. Mari Carmen was attentive and gave amazing recommendations. I will definitely be coming back again.

Pez was very good. Keep in mind that this is an expensive restaurant if you get a waitress like the one we got. Food overall is excellent. Mostly seafood dishes and maybe one or two steak options. I say that your waitress can make this a very expensive dinner because they dont explain to you the size of the dishes your are ordering. For example, some dishes are very small... tapas like but some others are really big and the menu doesn't specifically indicates that those can be shared or would be big enough to share. Like the whole grilled fish (market price). That fish was huge and good enough for two or three people if you are ordering a couple of other things like we did. We had the grill octopus in a mole sauce which is a good appetizer for 3 and guacamole also good for 3 to 4 people.... appetizer size meals. But plenty. For dinner the mixed tacos with shrimp, steak and octopus (2 tacos per order), the grilled steak, grilled fish of the day and levanta muerto seafood soup. (2 adult and 2 kids under 13). She says that should be enough. $247.00 dollars later it was way too much food because she said dishes aren't that big. I understand that they make money on selling you this dishes but it is absolutely unnecessary to make you waste money based on that. Again.... food is really good, all has been prepared with quality ingredients and presentation is also nice. It was the misleading service that made this bitter. I would recommend coming here and ask whether it is a big dish or not... maybe you get a truthful answer or just order a few things and go little by little.

Google
I’m Mexican and this place is hands down the closest thing to real mexican food in Miami. They ship their ingredients from Mexico and everything is super fresh and the best cure after a night of drinking. They have live music on weekends and paired with a caguama it’s honestly a vibe! 🇲🇽🍻

Google
We had the grill fish platter - it was really good. Definitely worth coming. Excellent customer service.

Great food, awesome wine, nice space, and excellent customer service! I had the chance to read Chef's Javier Plascencia while dinning, that elevated the experience and help me understand the concept.

Yelp
I'm going to do a short and sweet review because Pez doesn't need more words: CHICHARRÓN DE PULPO ::drops the mic:: #lifechanging

Andrew C.

Yelp
Seafood and fish tacos only here. If you want pork tacos go next door to El Porkys Food: 4 stars Food was fresh and delicious. If you're looking for seafood and fish tacos this is a good option. Service: 2 stars The wait staff seemed a bit confused and gave our party the incorrect orders multiple times. They didn't seem to know what taco or dish they were giving us which was a bit odd for a wait staff. The kitchen was also behind as we waited quite a bit for tacos but overall the staff was friendly Ambiance: 4 stars Super cool vibe inside. Good spot for fish tacos and ceviche and cold drinks. Mexican music makes it feel as if you're in mexico. Love it !

Yelp
Very nice ambiance, the service was great and food was very good! We order ceviche verde de camarón, taco de camaron enchilado, taco cochipulpo, chicharrón de pulpo, etc

Yelp
Visiting PEZ was a mix of childhood memories and beach vacay in mexico. I had to go visit immediately because they have tosti-ceviche, which is classic local street food. In mexico, Tostitos are used for esquites, nachos, ceviche and many other local street fares. Its something very casual, but so enjoyable it takes you back to childhood. Mine had- chips, ceviche, pico de gallo, cacahuates japones, valentina, chamoy, probably jicama and was pretty spicy. I even cried a little. But no regrets, can't wait to try again! They offered me a 'caldo levanta muertos' as a courtesy, was delicious, spicy, & flavorful. I also tried the quesa-taco de marlin, delicious & flavorful. Just when i had finally controlled my tears, i had the taco de camarón enchilado (cried again), loved it. I had a chelada, but oddly they were out of all beers, except 'monopolio'. I kinda wanted a Pacifico.. hopefully they have it next time. They also have a little 'tiendita' where you can buy, chips, salsa & Tajin to take home. They are new, and just opened, they mentioned they have NO HH at the moment, but are working on a menu. (Automatic 20% gratuity added to bill-ouch). Great service & food, i'll definitely be visiting again soon.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Their food was great and authentic! I wish they were moving to a better location in Miami! Great Quality seafood and flavors!

Juliana G.

Yelp
The most traditional Mexican seafood place in Miami, seafood is fresh and tasty , service is on point . A must!

Evan M.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've had in Miami. The grilled fish was such a good deal and the flavors were super authentic. I felt like i was in Baja Mexico while eating the meal. The dolce de leche dessert was great too. Not overly sweet or thick, very creamy and light. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Great place to eat. Relatively medium sized servings (but filling enough) they have a promo where you can get 2 tacos, soup and drink for 18$. Amazing dessert: Crema Dulce de Leche. Must try. Shoutout to the cute server William. Very courteous and kind. No parking though.

Yelp
The food here was just okay. This place was really hipster. Even their to-go bag was the reusable one you'd get from vendors at a festival. And their bathroom mirrors were really niffy as it had an on/off switch right on it. The pulpo en mole (octopus) was $20. The octopus tentacles were sizable and good in texture and chewiness. The hubs seemed to like his choice. The presentation was nice, but it was more like an appetizer in regards to filling you up. The pork belly was $22, and it came with 3 tortillas (which was really good as it was toasted). It was really good with the sauces. The skin was crispy while the meat was tender and juicy. But, the pork and some sauce were all the dish came with. My 3 pork belly tacos were good, but I was still hungry afterwards... Overall, the food was okay and prices high. The portions are slightly more than tapas, and so are the prices. Also, whoever took our group's reservation made it seem special asking for the reason for a reservation... So why ask if you really don't care if there are two birthday folks in the group... Thanks but no thanks. Don't think I'd be coming back here unless I want to spend a whole lot to become full.

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Excellent service, excellent food! The pics say it all! FOOD: These memorable dishes blow other places out of the water... Guacamole appetizer-wow! Not your average guacamole, it was amazing! Probably the best I've tried. Pulpo altozano (entree)-an absolute must try! This charred octopus in ponzu with sake and peanuts was memorably flavorful. Dulce de leche pot de creme dessert was the best dulce de leche I've ever had. Homemade by a Mexican lady who achieved to perfect and master this recipe. Other dishes: Oysters and Tostada de atún con machaca were good. Arrachera was a little too salty. They have really good cocktails and a wide selection of wines (not limited to Mexican). Full bar and they customize drinks so you could have your own concoction as you eat. SERVICE: Friendly and fabulous! PARKING: Valet right in front of restaurant.

Yelp
Having been here twice in the last month, I think I'm ready to render a veredict on Pez. Being the new kid on the block, there are always growing pains - but Pez has taken to downtown Miami like a fish on water - pun intended! My two favorite things on the menu are The Clasica tostada and their spin on the Margarita (on the expensive side, but with reason as it is made with Casa Dragones). I've also had the oysters - both hot and cold and they were very fresh, alas on the smaller side of the serving portion. Now, what keeps me coming back for more are deffinitely the desserts. My ultimate favorite is the pot de creme - a dulce de leche concotion with salt and olive oil... its to die for! There is a deconstructed guava chessecake in the works, that is really really good as well, so keep an eye out for that one.

Yelp
Shows promise. Visited on a very quiet Monday evening. Apart from us, only a couple other customers. The space is massive and probably seats 150 indoors. The restaurant is located on Flagler, close to the court. Decor is tasteful and minimalist, no art on the walls other than the giant logo at the back and the 'Bebe vino mexicano' neon in the glass-encased cellar. Ordered the aguachile, delicious but not very generous. Also ordered two tostadas, very tasty and the kind of authentic mexican flavors that are hard to find in Miami. The dessert was delicious - taco de elote - a paper thin minuscule corn tortilla, a quenelle of corn ice cream topped with caramel popcorn and edible flowers, with a single blueberry and what looked like edible charcoal - it could have been some other pitch black powder. Amazing but so terribly small for $10. Literally two bites. Generally speaking, the portions are small and the prices are relatively high. The dessert, albeit delicious, is a rip-off at $10. Service is correct. They charge for water. Bathrooms are clean. Expensive but delicious. Mixed feelings.

Helia M.

Yelp
Food is EXCELLENT! Tacos de mariscos like I haven't had in the USA.... And the portions are very well served. You won't be disappointed. Server was very nice. The restaurant is very clean, I will definitely come back!

Grace L.

Yelp
Pez is everything I'm looking for in a delicious Mexican fusion restaurant! Amazing service, food and menu. Superior drinks and the bartenders have a heavy pour. Loving pez!!

Nicole R.

Yelp
I found Pez scrolling through Facebook and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. I live in Broward county and only drove to Miami to have dinner there. The seafood is fresh and the service was great. We would definitely recommend Pez if you're a seafood lover. Plus the Margaritas!!! The ambiance is a very chill and casual vibe.

Serghio M.

Yelp
A truly Mexican Baja experience! Finally a real Baja-style experience is available in Miami. Their dishes are amazing such as the octopus chicharrón, tuna tostadas, Tijuana seafood tacos, mussels and even one of the best guacamole's out there! They also have one of the largest mezcal selections in Miami and wine from the Valle de Guadalupe wine region! Finally, you MUST try their desserts. Keep it up!

Yelp
Surprised to see all the really good reviews about this place which is the reason I decided to try it out, unfortunately my experience at PEZ was downright appalling and sad. I made reservations on a Friday night few weeks back and the place was literally dead. Bad sign already. There was 1 table besides mine in the entire restaurant. 2 stars for the food however the service was really really good. We had a very sweet friendly young lady and she was great. What We ordered: 1. Tostada Atun/machaca - this was The best thing we tried. Very beautifully presented and very nice flavor. very scrumptious and just a yummy tostada. 2. Taco tijuanero- considering it had so many things in it- octopus, steak and shrimp it was soo incredibley bland. I mean tasteless. A big disappointment. I was expecting those rich burst of flavors but it was seriously lacking. Even the complementary sauces didn't make it taste better. Just really underwhelming... 3. Pork belly - was absolutely horrendous and disgusting. The presentation was beautiful but it was 100% pure fat! No pork just pure 100% belly. Just inedible. Had the waitress look at it and she was embarrassed and agreed said she would send out a new one. The 2nd time around it still was fatty but worst of all it arrived frozen cold in the middle. By then I had just had enough. I was angry hungry, wanted the check and wanted to get the hell out. On a good note the waitress was very apologetic and offered complimentary dessert which was a nice touch and very good. Even still I was really hoping for a good filling Mexican meal and the whole food experience was just bad. Also the area of the restaurant is so sketchy and full of homeless people hanging around I dare not return again. Not my cup of tea.. I left and ended up at Toro Toro.

Yelp
This place is nestled in between office buildings by the Downtown Miami Courthouse. The only reason why I come here is that it's walking distance from my job. The parking situation is pretty bad and would not suggest valet as it's expensive, the best bet if you decide to drive finding metered street parking. That being said, the food is delicious here, and the chef has done a great job in properly creating this menu with incredible cocktail drinks that compliment the food. The esquites Brussel sprouts are delicious, and I'm not a fan of mayo, but the smoked paprika mayo it has is excellent ($12). I do believe the Brussel sprouts are a bit pricey but can be a nice "splurge." The vegetarian taco is $8, and it's only ONE TACO... It is served in a "mini bowl" because it has a lot of sauce on it. The taco is excellent, but I do not believe it's worth the price at all. Just like many nice restaurants in Downtown Miami, it is a bit overpriced. They have a lunch menu, but it's almost the same as the dinner menu. There is no real lunch special, just something once in a blue moon I have seen advertised. This restaurant is great to try with a group of friends for after-work drinks.

Cristin R.

Yelp
This is the best new restaurant I have eaten at in Miami since petit maison opened. Yes, I recognize it's been several years since then. This place is leaps and bounds better than ad lib and is really more of a seafood restaurant than Mexican. They make this sizzling octopus that is an explosion of flavors in your mouth. I believe it comes with hazelnuts and it is the most exquisite single plate I have had in years. Like competes with the Cochon at the relais in Paris kinda status. Food is so so good. Service is excellent. Restaurant and ambience great. Trust me. Go check it out. Miami's best restaurant to open in 2019 FOR SURE

Veronica P.

Yelp
Mexican tapas style restaurant. We ordered a few different items and a lot of them did not specify they would be spicy when they were spicy anyway. I highly recommend the halibut entree but nothing else really stood out aside from that (although it weirdly came with some tortillas that actually ended up taking away from the dish so I steered clear of those). A few of us at the table agreed that the caldo seafood soup did not have a good taste. The cocktail menu only includes drinks with either tequila or mezcal- I know restaurants always allow you to order off menu but it would have been nice to see other options.

Jolie M.

Yelp
LOVED my meal at PEZ last night. Angel, the manager, was awesome and had great recommendations for us. Great ambiance also and a very pretty restaurant. Everything we tried was delicious and had such unique flavors (at least to me, he explained that all the food was from the Baja region of California). We tried the following: For wine he recommended the Vena Cava cab., we loved it so much we got a bottle. I typically don't prefer cabs but this one was on the lighter side and went great with the bold, smoky flavors of the food. We tried the ostiones (oysters) that were chargrilled Brussels sprouts...seriously some of the best I have ever tried Pulpo...which was grilled in a mole sauce. Divine! And they gave us homemade tortillas to sop up the sauce with Chili relleno stuffed with tuna..very unique Tostada with yellowtail For dessert we tried the pot de creme and the guava cheesecake Everything was AMAZING and we can't wait to go back

Rafael S.

Yelp
Awesome Mexican food; the real thing.... Delicious Chicharrón de Pulpo. The shrimp and the fish tacos very tasty. Side salsa of Chile de árbol well balanced and powerful. Margaritas well made. Tatiana gave us great service. Will be back with family as well.

Yelp
Good food. Small yet pricey. We came here for a coworkers birthday lunch. Pez opened near our office recently and we had been wanting to try it out. Everyday when i walk by I have seen a sign on the door that says "lunch special." However, when I asked the waitress for the lunch special she told me they no longer have lunch specials. The very next day I saw the sign again in the window that said they have lunch specials.... so apparently they discontinued the lunch specials only on the one day we decided to visit Pez? A small plate will run you about $15 and leave you still hungry and wanting more. Most of my coworkers left a little disappointed. There are a ton of restaurants around this area where you can get a better priced and more satisfying lunch. I may have felt differently about Pez had these been the dinner prices. It's extremely hard for me to justify making this a regular lunch spot of mine with these prices. Needless to say, the food was very tasty. I really enjoyed everything I tried so far. The food was packed with delicious flavor and spices. The fish tasted fresh and was the perfect temperature.

Denisse M.

Yelp
AMAZING!!!! This is currently my favorite restaurant. Everything I've ordered here is over the top delicious. But I must say the Octopus is my favorite thing to eat here. Any way you order it, the octopus will be the most delicious thing you'll ever taste. I'm not kidding, everything is super delicious and high quality, even the bread, the tortillas; mind blowing - excellent! Omg and the drinks, so delicious too. You can tell that the owner of this restaurant, thought about every detail to make your dining experience spectacular. The restaurant is beautiful, the environment feels casual but modern enough that can also impress your romantic date. Don't just take my word for it, go see for yourself, you'll love it!

Rosa C.

Yelp
Over priced food. Had the green Chile ceviche tostada, taste was bland. Had a ton of guacamole and then they just threw shrimp on top, for $11. The red aguachile was delicious, but not sure if the amount of food was worth the cost. I mean it's not a delicacy or served by a famous chef...it's just shrimp. The tacos del governador were their save from a 1 star. They had a lot of flavor, and the tortilla was grilled giving it extra flavor. The other issue was the waitress...she was awkward and barely smiled. Felt like she might not want to be there...and we were her only customers. There's a lot of choices in Miami. Not sure if these should be anyone's top of their list. :-/

Nancy H.

Yelp
When one of our go to restaurants was closed, we were excited to try a new spot in Miami. Unfortunately Yelp let us down this time. The $25 halibut we wanted was out so the waitress suggested the red snapper. She failed to mention it was meant to serve 4 people. We were shocked at the size when it arrived and were anticipating a big ticket price. When the check arrived we saw the cost was $60. Oh and they also charged $2 for water. Had the food been good we wouldn't really have minded. But the food was just ok. The pork belly was not as tender as I like and it was bland. The fish was especially bland. Finally I asked for salt, and I'm the type of person that usually thinks food is on the saltier side. Reading thru other reviews after our meal, seems other people had stated the same. The Brussels sprouts were good, also could have used a bit more salt. Overall, the 2* review is due to the blandness of the food and disingenuous up-sell (seems like another theme based on other reviews). Otherwise, not recommended, lots of other restaurants that taste much better and won't try to get you to over order.

Jason G.

Yelp
Finally a superb Mexican Restaurant here in Miami. Great Service, but the food is... to die for!! Spicy y Rico!!! A whole new side to seafood from what we have here in Miami. Well prepared, season to perfection with complex flavors. Oysters Tacos Tijuaneros Pulpo en mole de aceitunas Treat yourself to a real & authentic seafood cuisine!!!

Ivanna P.

Yelp
AMAZING food! They have great chefs and great bartenders! I have attended several of their events and collaborations and this place never disappoints. They also have lots of specials and happy hours. I always ask for a special drink from the house and they always come up with something fantastic. The dessert chef is greattt, im always looking forward to what she will do next.

Aileen N.

Yelp
Welcoming and friendly server took our order for a La Morrita cocktail which we followed with some sizzling Pulp Altozano accompanied by the best piece of charred bread. Taco: el tijuanero and The ceviche de lentejas are definite new favorites. The desert round was as out of the ordinary as the savory offerings we enjoyed. The dulce de leche pot de creme is in a league of its own, olive oil drizzle on a desert- let that sink in. Best decision after a stroll around art-filled downtown miami.

Ohhh Y.

Yelp
Man o man! I'm hoping that whenever you all read this they've maintained this LEVEL of greatness. I was suggested this spot by a friend and wowza, definitely the BEST TACOS in miami. I pray they maintain this standard. I had the shrimp taco, the tiajuana and fish and chips. Each one packed a CRAZYYYYYY flavor punch that made me so happy and clean the plates. I came in super hungry, and for me that's a dangerous place to be because if food isn't perfect I'm pissed it's also because I cook very well so my standards are typically high. I know what I want foods to taste like, so with that I wouldn't recommend a margarita here but the food is 10/10, and the service is 10/10 as well. The waiter was patient, he shared him recommendations, and when I didn't like my margarita he kindly made me another. It has super chill Mexican music playing at the perfect volume, is very clean and apparently it's a new spot. I'm still sitting in the restaurant writing this review so you KNOW ITS REAL! Give this spot a try if you are in miami. It's located in downtown near the arena, closes at 9pm, and has a bar you can sit at if you wanted. The tacos are $7 each but I'm gonna be honest, they are super filling as well as tasty, I'm overly full lol, and I can eat!

Alain S.

Yelp
Nice to see a place like this in Downtown. Great food, service & nice atmosphere. Mezcal drinks on point. Try the XOLO

Jasmyne I.

Yelp
The food here is great and the drinks outstanding. It's in downtown area in a dark area. I didn't find it at first but made it! The only thing I wouldn't order again is the octopus platter. It was soooooo salty my tongue was burning.

Lauren B.

Yelp
We came to PEZ because we knew that their menu was created by one of Tijuana's most talented chefs. Just looking at the menu we started salivating. I don't make a habit of eating seafood, but when I do, I really only want to eat the best quality. When you eat at PEZ, that's what you get. We had a green apple "agua del día" that was so refreshing and full of flavor; I wanted to order another one, but I knew I wouldn't have had room for all the food I wanted to eat.. like the aguachile verde, which paired very well with the green apple juice as it had such a light, citrusy taste. After the aguachile, we ordered the "Marlin" and gobernador tacos. A-mazing. Obviously, we loaded them with lime and the chile de árbol sauce they provided at the beginning of our meal, but they didn't need much, they were so delicious on their own. Every crunch, lime-y zing, and pinch of spice... AND THEN we ordered the Pescado Zarandeado. It was so tender, flavorful, aromatic and colorful. Just truly delicious. Like I said, QUALITY. Service was phenomenal. Johanna was helping us that day. She literally only wanted for us to have an awesome experience at PEZ, and everyone there was very friendly and, honestly, we had such a fun time because the staff was so awesome. Will be back very soon.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I went to Pez for lunch again today with a friend after deliberating all morning about where we should eat. We arrived just after noon and the server almost immediately took down our appetizer order. We had the guacamole, it was just okay...despite it being difficult to mess up guacamole. My friend then ordered the TOSTADA DE ATÚN CON MACHACA as her entree and I ordered the PULPO EN MOLE DE ACEITUNAS which the server assured me was excellent. I'd been to Pez before and had the PULPO ALTOZANO which I loved, so I figured they're good at octopus. Sadly, I was mistaken. After some time, my friend's tostada arrived but my octopus was nowhere to be seen. I figured it'd be out in a few minutes so I waited patiently. After several minutes I flagged down the other server since ours was missing in action, and she apologized for the delay. She said there was only one cook but that she'd find out what was taking so long. So, I waited some more. Our server then reappeared on the other side of the restaurant and I struggled to get her attention, when I finally did she told me she'd check on the octopus. By this time, my friend had finished her tostada. A few minutes later I asked our server again where the octopus was. She gave me some unintelligible excuse and disappeared again before I was able to cancel the dish. A few minutes later, the octopus appeared finally. The dish didn't look very appetizing, but at that point I felt I had few options so I started to eat it. The mole wasn't tasty at all, the octopus was chewy and poorly cooked, the kale and cherry tomato garnish looked sad and was thrown haphazardly on the plate. At that point, I gave up on lunch because the octopus was inedible and I was out of time due to the shoddy service. Thankfully, the server didn't give me a hard time about taking the dish off the bill since it was obvious I hadn't touched. Overall, it was an atrocious and very frustrating experience. Lunch hour Downtown is sacred. Most people are in a time crunch and can't afford to sit around waiting for food for forty-five minutes. Restaurants operating in this area must work within these time constraints. Unfortunately for me, my lunch was ruined. I won't ever go back to Pez.

Yelp
Went to PEZ for my birthday & it was amazing. Food was outstanding and every person who worked there was extremely nice. I didn't have to wait for a table and the food came out quick. My waiter gave me a dessert for my birthday and made my night. Looking forward to going back very soon!

Yelp
Went to Pez last night for oysters (we saw on their IG they were a dollar till 8 o clock) & we were so glad we did. The service is fantastic, we got taken care of by Antonio and a lovey young lady (I think she is Argentinian), both of them were extremely knowledgeable, focused, and delivered some of the best service I've had in Miami. We never had an empty glass nor did we had to go out of our way to get their attention. They were so efficient, knowledgeable, and nice!! The oysters were also great and they came with 3 different sauces, two of which I've never had before and all are a must-try, we also ordered the octopus and it was AMAZING. Every cocktail was tasty and we can't wait to try the rest of the menu! This place is a gem, I'm going back next week with family because it's too good. I recommend this to anyone visiting or local, the food, the service, the drinks - all of it five stars!

Yelp
Wow. We are in town for a convention and originally wanted to stop at a different restaurant which ended up being closed. Lucky for us because we stumbled upon this gem! The food was spectacular. My sister and I shared a few dishes and each one was better than the last. Even my 10 month old was enjoying the food we got and ate everything! We got the lentil tostones, bone marrow with shrimp, vegetarian taco, chicharrones con thon, brussels sprouts, and for dessert we got pot de creme and deconstructed guava cheesecake. Everything was to die for! The vegetarian taco was good, but wouldn't order again for the way it was served in tomato sauce made it soggy. The fried tuna was one of the top 5 dishes I've had at any restaurant. I wish I lived here so I could visit more often but when I am in town again I will definitely come back!

Yelp
The most interesting and delicious octopus preparation I ever had! Highly recommend trying Pulpo Altozano: Octopus with peanuts in very complex spicy-lemony sauce. We tried some different combinations of tacos with fish and shrimp. Delicious! Very welcoming place with super friendly staff.

Yelp
The concept of PEZ is genius!! Take a nationally loved cultured food (Mexican) and add Miami's geographical location to create an dish unheard of. Mexican food with a seafood twist! When I first found out about this place I was more intrigued with how can they pull this off. Centrally located in Miami's downtown area. Not as inviting to dine there randomly due to only street parking (or garage parking a few blocks away) and heavy traffic during the day, but PEZ makes for a great happy hour spot if ever in the area. Inside decor is very modern & Industrial (also away from the normal Mexican theme decor). Price points are pricy!! So don't go in like I did thinking your typical Mexican meal is going to be $12 for a plate load of food. It's gourmet style dishes, and a gourmet price. The Tasty: My order: Atun con chicharron, Tijuanero Tacos, Chile Relleno "Marlin", and Pot de creme for dessert. Overall, I was up and down about the taste and flavors of the food. My favorite was the Tuna & Pork Tostada (Atun con chicharron). Well balanced, fresh fish, texture & garnishing all paired well. The tacos were hearty and juicy. The combination of octopus, steak and shrimp under one shell....no complaints here! Least favorite was the Chile Relleno & dessert. I expected a bit of a spicy kick from the Relleno with a flavor that popped out. I get like a lot of what was visually seen on the plate just all blended in together (not in a bad way, just not a "omg" reaction). The Pot de creme was too salty for my taste buds. My girlfriend likes it, but I didn't finish it. But to make things right...definitely order at least one cocktail. They were amazing. We had their "Zonkey" and the "IV". Handcrafted with love...and spice!

Yelp
Great different Mexican food! Very high end well presented. Super nice staff. New and up coming. Don't let the empty space fool ya. It's definitely worth it. Lots of different fun flavors.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous Mexican/Tijuana inspired seafood. Went here the other night and tried a ton of different dishes from their tostadas to tacos and dessert. The Green Machine tostada is out of this world good. Be sure to get the dulce de leche dessert- no words can justify how delicious it is.

Yelp
What a perfect evening! Went here on a Sunday night while we are here on vacation with my family. The menu was full of enticing options and our waitress was kind enough to answer any questions we had. We started with the ceviche tatemado. Very good. Then we ordered three dishes: pulpo en mole, the caldo leventa, and taco tijunero. We loved every bite! After dinner, one of the staff brought over a complementary coffee and brandy drink that she said was customary with desert in her region. It was also delicious! We ordered a chocolate custard for dessert and the staff recommended a custard French toast with mixed berries that is only available on the weekends. Because we only ordered one dessert they really wanted us to try the special for the weekend so they provided one of those for us as well! They were right, both desserts were a delight. You should really check this place out.

Yelp
OVERALL: Every section of this menu is a highlight, from cocktails to dessert. Baja food for ceviche lovers; plenty of original but still authentic tacos; fresh fish that delights from the first bite to the last. With perfectly seasoned salsas on the side, Pez will never disappoint! . FISH TACO: Fish tacos are popular, accessible, and not that hard to make. But what separates this one from Pez (and all their tacos, in fact) is the corn tortilla: perfect consistency and temperature. Close your eyes and you're on a beach in Baja! . OCTOPUS TACO: Pulpo, on the other hand, is very hard to cook right. But Pez nails this taco! Takes me back to Mexico City in a flash. Perfect al dente toughness and minimal seasoning: just the char from the grill and a little oil drizzle over the chopped pieces. Delicious! . SNAPPER: After the cocktails and the tacos, I wasn't sure if Pez could maintain their stellar menu. Surely there's a weak spot, I thought, as with nearly all restaurants, particularly new ones still getting their bearings. But Toño, the manager and our waiter that evening, steered me to the huachinango (Mexican red snapper) to share with the family. What a beautiful surprise! Perfectly fresh and flaky white fish--without the fishy taste--and just the right amount of seasoning to bring the natural flavors to the forefront; but still strong enough to pair in balance with their table-side salsas. It takes an awesome combination of skill and restraint to execute a dish like this. It was this open fish that catapulted Pez from good to great in my book. . DESSERT TACO: Pez's pastry chef is a young and outrageously talented woman, fresh off an intensive at one of Mexico City's hottest restaurants that isn't Pujol. And she isn't slowing down in Miami! This is a sweet corn ice cream taco. No matter how full you are after the savories at Pez, everyone has room for this delightful bite. . GUAVA CHEESECAKE: Here Sofia is showing off in the best way possible. Hand-pressed flower meringue over a guava cheesecake. Let me put it this way: I don't like cheesecake, and I'm ambivalent about guava. I'm generally not even a dessert guy. But this was exactly the kind of dessert I can get behind. It reminded me of the semisweet desserts from Japan. Just an awesome balance of flavors to wow you without overpowering you. . POT DE CREME: I'm gonna go ahead and call it: Sofia's pot de creme is the best dessert I'm going to have in 2019. As if fresh, homemade caramel cream and a scoop of hearty vanilla weren't delicious enough on their own, the ingredient that mainlines this dish straight into your brain's pleasure center is the olive oil skimming across the top that drips down into every spoonful. One word: Divine.

Yelp
Best gourmet Mexican food in Miami. I'm a Mexican food lover. I go to any place that opens in town. This is the best one. Try el Chile relleno. Las ostras el taco de tuna y chicharrón. La sopa levanta muerto. And the postres are to died for. El pulpo. The Brussels sprouts are amazing. I just can't stop mentioning each of the plates we tried. The home made salsas. You really have to go! And try ur self. Next time I'll try the bone narrow. I'm so happy is just around the corner from my house in downtown

Yelp
An interesting place with a surprising menu, the quality of the dishes left me wanting to repeat in the next opportunities, the interior decoration with minimalist tendencies falls in the cheap of the chairs that become uncomfortable shortly after sitting. Taste the different versions of Octopus and the amazing Ceviche Lentil Toast

Yelp
Came here for a friends bday with about 10 other people. The food is truly authentic Mexican. I had the octopus tacos and the guacamole. The tacos were an absolute spectacle. Perfectly cooked octopus with the right touch of char. The taco shells were also nicely charred corn soft tortillas. I've only had better guac in one other place -- my home made recipe. Biased statement ;-) Service was also great. Very attentive and friendly. Knew exactly when to offer my second Dos Equis Ámbar. Definitely a downtown gem just a couple block walk from Brickell -- or a scooter ride.
