5 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: December 5 | Eater LA

"Florentine export Pino’s Sandwiches has settled into the main stretch of Vermont in Los Feliz like it was always meant to be there. The all-day sandwich shop opened its first U.S. location in Los Feliz in August, bringing its crusty, schiacciata sandwiches stateside for the first time. The menu has something for everyone, from the prosciutto and stracciatella-topped Ganzo, to a simple Caprese with ripe tomatoes and pesto or garlic sauce. Wash down the sandwiches with an Italian Molecola, which tastes like an herbal, carbonated amaro." - Eater Staff

4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: November 14 | Eater LA

"It seemed like kismet for this Florentine sandwich shop to open in August in the former Eastside Deli space, filling the void for deli sandwiches on a prominent stretch of Vermont in Los Feliz. Come hungry and prepare to fill up on a lightly toasted schiacciata from the Tuscany and Umbria regions — the bread’s name translates to “squashed” or “flattened” — filled with things like salami, fontina cheese, tomatoes, and pesto or garlic sauce. In all, 14 different sandwiches are on offer, including a sweet schiacciata with Nutella, and please, for the love of all sandwiches, don’t order something to go; the toasty bread is what makes everything special here, as is the friendly service and guidance in making something delicious for the neighborhood." - Eater Staff

Pino's Sandwiches - Review - Los Feliz - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"LA might already have enough Italian sandwich shops, but this one comes from Florence, and their Los Feliz location is their first branch outside the original. The menu features 14 sandwiches on house-baked schiacciata, like the Tuscan with salami, fontina, and pesto, or the Delicato with ham, brie, and truffle cream. There’s also a sweet version with Nutella, and an LA exclusive called the Ganzo with prosciutto, stacciatella, sun-dried tomatoes, and caramelized onions. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Florence Sandwich Shop Pino’s Sandwiches Opens Its First U.S. Location in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"A taste of Florence lands in Los Feliz with crusty, dimpled schiacciata baked fresh daily using the Florence recipe and sandwiches priced under $20. The opening menu offers 14 savory options plus a sweet Nutella schiacciata, with two oversized halves per order and gluten-free bread coming after the opening. Standouts include The Best — roast beef, mixed vegetables, cheese, and a spicy sauce on schiacciata, toasted until the cheese melts and the crust crisps — alongside the simple Delicato (smoked ham, brie, truffle cream), the Tuscan (salami, fontina, fresh tomatoes, pesto or garlic sauce), and Springtime (prosciutto, mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, pesto or garlic sauce). Los Feliz exclusives show up too, like the Ganzo with prosciutto, creamy stracciatella, sundried tomatoes, and a caramelized onion spread; vegetarians get a Caprese, a Vegan with spinach, roasted eggplant, sundried tomatoes, onions, and hot sauce or garlic sauce, and the Lady D with spinach, stracciatella, roasted eggplant, sundried tomatoes, roasted bell peppers, and pesto or garlic sauce. To preserve flavor, 80 to 90 percent of ingredients are imported from Italy, and staff are trained on every detail, from press time to how many dried tomatoes dot the stracciatella. It’s the brand’s first U.S. outpost, set in the former Eastside Deli space, and holds daily hours from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m." - Rebecca Roland

Google
It’s a focaccia style bread so that already wins. Wait it’s fresh, warm, and toasted? Why not? Wait… there’s also a parking lot in back… in LOS FELIZ? Win. These are pretty big sandos, so while the price is up there you do get a good amount. Process is simple you step up to the line place your order, they make it, put it through panini press, and you’re in flavorville. I’ve had a couple different sandwiches. So far, the salami one was the best followed by bresola. The Best was good, but didn’t stack up compared to the bresola. I would also recommend trying their Italian coke. It reminds me of the best version of RC Cola. The interior does feature a couple of tables and there are a couple more in the patio area up front.

Google
This spot truly knows what they’re doing. The sandwiches are packed with flavor, carrying that authentic Florentine touch you can taste in every bite. The bread is light yet hearty, and the fresh, carefully chosen ingredients make each combination stand out. I tried the Groto, and the mix of meats, veggies, and Mediterranean flavors was outstanding. Nothing bland here every bite was seasoned just right, balanced, and full of life. The drink, an Organic Blood Orange Galvanina, was the perfect pairing — super refreshing and crisp, cutting through the richness of the sandwich beautifully. The place itself is simple yet welcoming, with a fresh ingredient bar on display that builds trust right away. Definitely feels like a little slice of Florence in Los Angeles. Highly recommended if you’re looking for more than just an ordinary sandwich.

If you’re in Los Angeles and craving a sandwich that truly hits the spot, Pino’s Sandwiches is the place to go! This isn’t just another sandwich shop — it’s the authentic taste of Florence, Italy, brought straight from the legendary Pino’s there. The bread is always fresh, the ingredients are top-quality, and every sandwich is crafted with the same passion and tradition you’d find in Florence. Perfectly balanced flavors, generous portions, and nothing feels rushed or ordinary. The staff is warm, welcoming, and treat you like family — just like in Italy. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, catering for the office, or want a spot to enjoy a truly authentic meal, Pino’s nails it every time. A hidden gem with roots in Florence, now in LA. Definitely one of my new go-to spots for sandwiches!

Google
Fantastic restaurant. They really went all in on Italian from the beverages to the chips to the freaking delicious sandwiches. My boyfriend and I went here after we went to the Griffith Observatory (just a couple blocks walk from the DASH bush stop) and not only is it on a super cute downtown type stretch, (which is very hard to find in LA) but the bread was delicious, the sandwich was delicious and the vibes were delightful. Plus the owner was super nice— highly recommend and very affordable. One of a kind spot!

Google
I’ve been to the one in Florence multiple times and when I heard Pino would be opening up a spot in Los Angeles. I was very excited. I went to their grand opening today and the line was very long. However, they had great crowd control and offered cold water bottles to the line. The service was just as amazing as it is in Florence. Pino was there. He was so happy to see everyone, and everyone was sharing their stories about their experience in Florence. The sandwiches are just as amazing as it is in Florence. I can’t wait to come back more to try the other sandwiches. I got the Springtime and it did not disappoint. Congrats Pino and family!

Google
look no further for a truly authentic Italian sandwich - each bite transports you to Florence. The ingredients are fresh and taste incredible. The owners and staff are kind, with an appreciation for satisfying their customers. You can tell there is pride in what they serve and how they make each person feel when you walk in. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I am predispositioned to liking this place because I think Florence is one of the top five cities in the world. This place is well worth the stop. We stopped on a holiday afternoon and would have had little wait but they were cooking fresh foccia. We ordered the Ghiotto, Florentino, and Spring Time. The bread had a wonderful crunch and was light, as my spouse said "It's great because it's tasty but it didn't feel like you're eating a loaf of bread". The Ghiotto was my favorite. The mixture of the porchetta and pesto and sundried tomatoes was perfect!. The Florentino was very good too, the salami was tasty and the Pesto with grilled onions was the bomb. I'm not a truffle fan but the truffle cream added depth to the selection. The Springtime brought its back to Italy with the prosciutto. There's limited seating for about 30 people total over 9 tables. Prices are in line with any other sandwich shop in LA. There is a parking lot behind the building with a back door entrance. We will be back many times!

Google
Assolutamente da non perdere! So happy and excited to see Pino’s open in LA! The store itself is beautiful and sparkling clean. The sandwiches are exactly like the ones in Florence since Pino has imported all of his favorite ingredients to assure the highest quality. Great portion and price/quality ratio especially since the ingredients are from Italy and the schiacciata (the typical Florentine bread they bake themselves each morning) is legit. All of that said, the best part is the ENERGY! Same delightful, fun, welcoming Pino’s energy that we all know and love from Florence. Idk how you could go in and not leave smiling. There is a reason people wait in line both in Florence and in LA! Love you guys!!! Thanks for bringing our favorite part of Italy all the way to the US! ❤️

Yelp
We had a great experience at Pino's! My husband and I were super excited to try and it did not disappoint. I got the spring time and he got the XO, both were phenomenal. You can tell they use fresh ingredients straight from Italy. The staff was also very friendly and the place was super clean.

Yelp
I love a good sandwich and when you add the words "imported meats" you have me sold. I tried the XO and the Springtime, which were both huge and excellent. I found the Springtime a bit too salty for me but the XO was surprisingly refreshing. Service was very friendly and clearly run by people who care about this place.

Yelp
This is the best, freshest sammy I've had in LA in years, and we are in the middle of a sandwich revolution here. The bread is a 10/10 (and I wish I'd gotten some to go). The staff is so nice, they allow changes (you can pick from their topping options, which are all delish). Kev came out and told us about all the Italian imports, and he really adds to the vibe. We liked him so much, we came back through and showed him our shopping haul on the way out. I went with "The Best," and added the truffle spread, and I'm still thinking about it today. If it were closer, I'd be in trouble (but also in heaven).

Yelp
Great sandwich! We split the Lady D, which is a vegetarian sandwich stuffed with goodness. So many veggies and an amazing pesto sauce. Service was great and the sandwich was fresh and large. Establishment is run by very friendly faces who checked in regularly to make sure we were all taken care of! Lots of seating to enjoy your lunch with a friend.

Yelp
Excellent place for sandwiches, rivalling the best of them. With its roots going back to Italy and a rich selection of the Italian meats and cheeses, Pino's is earning its spot as the sandwich staple of LA. I went with the Tuscan sandwich that comes with tuscan salami, fontina cheese and sliced tomatoes. I also had a choice of pesto or garlic spread, but went with half and half on both. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. They bake their own fresh bread, that's crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside, yet not too much bread, as to not disrupt the flavors of the ingredients inside the sandwich. The salami was very yummy and noticeably better than anything on the shelves of LA supermarkets. The cheese complemented the salami really well and the ripe sliced tomatoes added that freshness and additional juiciness to the sandwich. Both, the garlic and pesto spreads, were outrageously good. Tuscan ended up being an excellent sandwich and a must-try in this establishment. The ambiance here is great and homey, with yellow and inviting decor colors and many tables for dining in, both, on the inside and on the little outside patio. The customer service was top notch- warm, friendly, professional. They made me feel right at home. Will definitely come back to try some more of Pino's delicious eats!

Yelp
I have a friend who took a trip to Florence last year and came back raving about a sandwich shop. She loved it so much that she brought back two sandwiches, tucked into her suitcase. Ah well, I thought, next time I am in Florence ... right? Wrong! I was astonished to read the announcement that that very Florentine sandwich shop was coming to Los Angeles -- not NY, SF, or Chicago. And, would be in easily accessed Los Feliz. Gioia! We waited until the excitement of the new opening died down and made the pilgrimage this weekend. As usual, the witching hour is 3 pm, i.e., no lines, just a few people in front of us while we watched the crew assemble our gigantic sandwiches, three of them, two savory, one dessert. There are fifteen distinct choices, but, being vegetarians we could only choose from three, plus the Yummy, dessert sandwich. We got the Lady D and the Caprese (see the pictures). The friendly person taking care of us asked if we wanted the pesto or the garlic sauces on our sandwiches. We chose one of each. The wait time was modest, about ten minutes from coming in to walking out the door with a crisp white, red, and yellow bag, our three treasures warm and cozy inside. Once home, we were able to split them up and get a taste of all three. The verdict? One of us thought they were exceptional. One of us thought they were good, but maybe the difference was that the pesto sauce (on our Caprese) was far tastier than the garlic (on our Lady D). One of us pronounced the Yummy great, the other of us just liked it but wasn't wowed. That might be a statement on the attraction of Nutella, not a staple in the USA. The fillings on both savories were very good. The Caprese was better. One area where improvement might be warranted is in the bread, which is a disappointment. I love freshly made Italian bread. This bread tasted dry to me and as if it had been nuked (not likely). It is a form of focaccia and the sandwiches are jumbo paninos, in my estimation. What else led to the 4 stars only? The neighborhood is a bit quirky. I have been on this block when it is quiet and lovely, and other times when it seems littered and populated by challenging residents, to put it diplomatically. This weekend, it was the latter, so I will call that a wash. Also, since we didn't see the "parking in the rear" sign as we drove up, we parked too far away for my comfort walking around here. These are factors that are beyond the control of Pino's. They have made a fine start. Next time, we will park in the rear or just pull up in front to pick up an order placed beforehand, now that we know what we like. I am glad they are here, wish them buon auguri, and plan to return for an update. Ciao for niao.

Yelp
Pino's sandwiches located in Los Feliz is the very first branch outside of Florence, Italy. I visited here only a few days after opening day. There were a few seating area inside and a few more in front of the store. My nephew and I came here during lunch time. As expected, it was busy but thanks to sufficient numbers of staff working that day, service was fast. Bread was continuously made and baked throughout the day. Meats and cheese are sliced only after it was ordered to preserve its freshness. We got: Italia - bresaola, parmigiano cheese, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and pesto. Ganzo - prosciutto, stracciatella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized onions The sandwiches are huge! It honestly an be shared by two people. We both didn't finish our sandwiches due to its massive size. They were both very good and delicious. I love that the bread was soft the way I like my bread. Ingredients were great quality. I could see myself coming back here very soon. Open daily. Free private parking available in the back of the store. There's restroom available inside the store.

Yelp
8/28/2025 Pino's Sandwiches opened in LA! As soon as I heard about it, I knew I had to visit! They opened on August 23rd. Haven't been to their Florence location, so nothing to compare, but super excited to try it! Came here on a Monday, the following week after opening. DELICATO Schiacciata bread was crispy, crunchy and full of olive oil flavor. It was freshly made, as it was still warm. Bread has sea salt flakes baked into it, you get that saltiness that hits your tongue when you first bite into it. It was good bread! The brie cheese were thicker and bigger slices. Super Creamy. Ham was slightly salty, but on the sweeter side. Truffle cream was subtle and in the background. There weren't evenly distributed, so you tasted more on one side than the other. The brie cheese, ham and bread was the star. The Delicato was my fave of the three. If you want a more creamier and sweeter tasting sandwich, this one's for you. XO Right off, the schiacciata bread is the star of this sandwich. However, as I bit into the XO, I didn't think there was anything special about this sandwich. The fillings lacked and all you can really taste is the two breads than the fillings inside. It also tasted bland. Yes, you get the pesto, freshly sliced tomatoes, and mortadella. But mainly it seems like the bread is the star and the fillings are the side characters. I would have enjoyed it more as an open sandwich. I honestly would not recommend this sandwich unless you can get more fillings. The mortadella was delicious and there was barely any! For the price, it just ain't worth getting it. MAGIC ZBD I've read on Google reviews that Pino recommended Magic ZBD to a customer, as that was his favorite sandwich. Salty, spicy salami hits you at first bite. Then the crunchy bread. It is a large bread. About 8 inch sandwich. You cant get all the mozzarella, red bell peppers and onions in one bite, so you're missing components of the sandwich as you're biting into it. The bell pepper and onion was slightly sweetened to balance the salty and spicy salami. I felt it needed something vinegary to balance the whole sandwich. Something was amiss. Once again, I think this would be better as an open sandwich. Too much bread and little fillings. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. When I received the XO and Delicato, they were both mislabelled. Had to look at the sandwich descriptions again to see which one was which. One more thing, there were options for pesto or garlic sauce for the sandwiches I've ordered, but no one asked me which one I've wanted. They simply took my order. LINES Were not long. About 5-6 people in front of me. Came in after 12:00pm on a Monday. Some people have already ordered and waiting for their order and others sitting and eating. AMBIANCE / SEATS Not fancy, just a straight forward sandwich shop. I think it would have been nice if the shop looked more authentically like their shop in Florence. There were about 5-6 tables and chairs indoors. There are also about 4 small tables and seats outdoors as well. One unisex bathroom in the back, towards the back entrance towards the parking lot. WAIT TIMES I've read on Google reviews that for opening day, people waited 2 hours in line in the sweltering heat! If you saw the pictures, they were lined all the way outside in the streets past Melbourne Ave. I knew how bad those lines were gonna be, so I avoided the weekend like the plague and came here on a Monday at noon. You order at the "Order Here" desk and then you pay at a separate line with the front register. Wait times varied with each person's order. I waited about 30+ minutes from placing my order to receiving my order. Some people had to wait a little bit longer than others. It was still opening week, so I could see that the workers were still adjusting to the order system. They all did their best to keep the pace and knock out all the sandwiches. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good service. Everyone was professional. There was only one person at the front register. There was clear communication between everyone making sandwiches. They also communicate directly and clarify customer's orders as well. They asked me three times on what my sandwich was and if it was to go, which got a bit annoying by the third time, but I'd rather get my order right than wrong. PARKING There is parking in the back of the shop. You can park where the signs say 1739 Public House Parking. Starfish Sushi is right next to it. No towing, as this is their parking lot. Not huge, but not tiny. I did not know about the parking lot, so I parked a block away. The location has no street parking, so try to park at the shop first. There are so many places with tow away signs so be mindful when you park elsewhere. Given my whole experience, I am disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting. No doubt all the components separately were great, but not as a sandwich. Something was amiss. However, I am open to returning to try their other sandwiches.

Yelp
We made a fun Sunday trip to the east side for these incredible sandwiches. A nice compact menu with the Pino traditional choices on the left and the LA specials on the right. We chose the XO and the Tuscan (I added lettuce to mine) and both were delicious! The staff was helpful and efficient and answered our questions. Most of the guests seemed to be doing takeaway. There are a tables both inside and a front patio. Would absolutely recommend and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
4.5/5 This one isn't quite at a 4.5/5 yet, but I'm bumping them up so they can get 5 stars because: Los Feliz deserves a fancy sandwich place like this, and I'm really rooting for this place to stick around for a while. Here's the bottom line: the sandwich is good. The bread is good and the meat is good. I feel this place was really lacking vibes when I walked in. There was no music, and the echo in the building was awkward. You can eat outside facing the street, so that's nice. But I probably would not sit inside and eat until they improve the vibe. The staff were nice, just a few quiet young men. I was kinda hoping for a more classic deli feeling, little chit chat, little sample of the meat as it's being sliced, things like that. Or at least the guys having fun. But it's ok, they were nice. When you go to other sandwich places like this, it just feels more buttoned up (or in the groove?) and I felt like the whole vibe was a little timid here. I also feel like for an $18 sandwich, you should load up on the pesto and cheese and meat. I didn't have a big problem with the portion size. It was filling. I just felt like I wasn't getting a premium experience. It's more of a comment on the way sandwich prices everywhere have gone up, but I just feel there used to be tiers of sandwiches. Like a $5 cheap one, $10 mid range, and $15 premium. And now every sandwich place sells an $18 sandwich just because they can, because the other guys do it. Anyways, I'm rooting for this place to keep making a good sandwich, I feel they're in the mid range in terms of quality-to-value, but hey it's still pretty good.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to try this place as soon as I heard about it! We ordered the Tuscan and Springtime sandwiches. Both were absolutely delicious. High-quality ingredients make all the difference, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. From the bread to the meats and perfectly balanced layers of tomato, lettuce, cheese, and pesto. The ambiance is clean (very important to me) and inviting, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. There's a parking lot in the back, but we easily found street parking right out front. Florence is one of the most magical cities in the world. Not just for its art and history, but also for the food! I'm so excited that a piece of Florence, has now opened up in Hollywood.

Yelp
I was excited to find this place because j am in this area frequently. The place is bright and clean. I got the XO and took it with me. The sandwich is big! Unfortunately it's all bread. There are oh a few slices of meat. I also didn't care much for the bread. I know places that are cheaper and way better.

Yelp
Yesterday I walked multiple times into the restaurant, not because I was lost, but the party i was in was indecisive about where to eat. Each time i walked into the laidback environment of the restaurant I greeted with real benevolence and an appetite. I eye balled the Ghiotto sandwich and boy it was a good pick packing rich but subtle flavors from the garlic sauce and porchetta. The best part is that I saved one half of my for the following day and re-toasting my sandwich is what wanting to give 7 starts

Yelp
I saw that Pino's opened in the same spot on Vermont that Eastside deli had tried to make a go of it and eventually closed. (Eastside Deli was actually very good and luckily their other shop remains open.) We ordered a couple sandwiches to share. The Ganzo: Prosciutto, stracciatella cheese, sun dried tomatoes and caramelized onions. The prosciutto was excellent and very tasty and the bread was quite good. Nice. We also tried the Ghiotto: Porchetta, smoked cheese, sun dried tomatoes, cooked onions, hot sauce and garlic sauce. I was surprised that the porchetta was very thinly sliced. I was expecting something just a bit more substantial. The onions were still a bit crunchy but overall this sandwich was also quite good. Service was very friendly. Inevitably, we had to compare Pino's to Mamie's since they both serve very similar sandwiches. (Read my Mamie's review) All in all we enjoyed our sandwiches and look forward to trying a few more from the menu. Will Pino's be able to thrive where Eastside deli couldn't?. Only time will tell. 7/10

Yelp
Got the Brasco with smoked cheese and pesto. Absolutely perfect sandwich, hits the sweet spot between a loaded Italian deli sub and a light picnic lunch. Big enough to save half for later. 10/10, will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
Los Angeles has no shortage of excellent sandwiches--my Valley go-tos are Cavaretta's and Domingo's--but Pino's Sandwiches in Los Feliz offers something truly distinct: a taste of Florence. I opted for the vegetarian Lady D, a thoughtful combination of spinach, burrata, eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, potatoes, and pesto on freshly baked schiacciata. The bread--Tuscan flatbread similar to focaccia but thinner--was perfectly crisp on the outside and airy inside. Compared with All'Antico Vinaio (which I've tried in NYC), Pino's sandwiches feel lighter and more balanced, while All'Antico leans heartier, cheesier, and more shareable. A fair comparison would require tasting them side by side, but ultimately it comes down to preference and whether you'd rather visit a single-location import direct from Florence or the more established All'Antico with four LA outposts. Practical notes: parking can be tricky, though there's a lot behind the shop and meters in front. At around $20, the sandwiches may feel expensive, but they deliver a distinctive culinary experience. The team was warm and helpful, though they couldn't quite name the top seller from Florence. According to ChatGPT, that would be The Best, a roast beef, vegetable, cheese, and spicy sauce creation dating back to Pino's opening in 1991. It remains customizable today with substitutions like turkey or prosciutto. One improvement I'd suggest: marking "recommended" or "most popular" items on the menu to guide first-time visitors.

Yelp
I read about the opening of this shop and the long line during opening day; I even decided to take a look the day before I visited and noticed that they had sold out before closing time! Given the popularity, I decided to check them out on a weekday afternoon, and thankfully there was a small line when I entered. There are menus available at the counter, and you can also see the sandwiches listed on the wall. I found the service to be polite and to the point, and ordering went smoothly. I got the Italia and appreciated the sharp savoriness of the bresaola and Parmesan cheese. It was a tasty sandwich though less filling than I expected. They have a lot of indoor seating with a smaller outdoor patio, and I also noticed that they offer parking in the rear.

Yelp
I love this style of Italian sandwich. Was happy to try out this new spot in Los Feliz. No line on a Monday. Bright big shop with a nice menu lineup. Went for the Tuscan. The meat, cheese and pesto were all absolutely delicious. I did not love, love, love the consistency of the bread. I forgot to ask them not to press it. It's a crunchier vibe than I'm into. Just a personal preference, that I usually like a softer sandwich bread and not a pressed sammy. I would definitely go back and remind myself to go cold. Very kind people working hard.

Yelp
Super good! Definitely will be back to try more. I had the Ganzo and the bread was crispy and the cheese and prosciutto were light and melted in the mouth. Did not disappoint.

Giving it 4 stars because of the fresh, quality ingredients, including the bread. (The bread can make or break it). I started simple and had their Delicato, but will definitely be back to try their other ones. As far as the ambience, the staff barely spoke, let alone saying "hello" when making eye contact, so it didn't feel like a true Italian deli. But alas, they did their job and the food was good. I'll be back to share another sandwich (they're big, so though it looks pricey, it's basically two meals) .

Yelp
I was prepared to enjoy Pino's, based on everyone's reviews. I ordered the XO, which is a mortadella/stracciatella cheese/tomato sandwich that costs $18. My mistake was having a very similar sandwich last week at Bread + Butter in Santa Monica for $9, which also serves excellent cold brew ($6). I keep dreaming about this sandwich at Bread + Butter. And it's half the price. I did not like the bread at Pino's, which I feel like is the whole draw of this place. It feels like it's missing salt and lacking a distinct bread flavor. Maybe we're spoiled from the farmer's markets in Los Angeles or growing our own veggies, but the tomatoes on this sandwich didn't have a taste. The stracciatella was excellent, however! It was also frustrating to place an order in person at Pino's, because even though there were only two other customers waiting for their orders, at least two more employees asked me again to repeat my order. They get really flustered and backed up here for some reason, but it's unclear why. They've been open for at least a month now. No one's cooking anything, right? All the bread is the same. We're slicing deli meat and pressing bread together. Perhaps more was going on that day that I couldn't see. $18 for a sandwich is not a fast-food, take-out price. That is a sit-down price. Anyway, I wish them luck because it's hard sometimes being the new kid and we're all trying to survive here in LA, but I think it's a one-time visit for me.

Yelp
Food is good and service is good but they made a mistake on my order. I will give them a second try

Yelp
Probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life! The ingredients were perfect, good meat to veg ratio. The most amazing bread I've ever tasted! They also have a really great variety of sodas, teas and other drinks. Cannot wait to come back.

Yelp
Mak made the xo for me, wow the customers are right- the bread is an incredible focaccia bread! The pesto on the xo was delicious and the cheese! I want to try the others next time. Staff is awesome

Yelp
We had a good experience and arrived before the lunch rush. The bread is incredible, I would definitely go back just for the amazing bread. The sandwiches themselves were mild in flavor, which was unfortunate. We got the Vegan and the Fiorentino. Although we had garlic sauce on the vegan, it needed more flavor. My other critique is that their ordering process is probably the reason they have such long lines. The flow is inefficient and it would make more sense to order at the register and then have the crew make the sandwich based on the ticket. The offer plenty of seating and parking in the back, which is great since parking can be tough in that neighborhood. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting Pinos Los Angeles on 9/13. I got the springtime sandwich and my husband got the brasco. Everything tasted just like it did when we had them the 1st time in Florence, DELICIOUS! When they prepare your sandwich they ask if it's ok, or if you'd like something else. It's a pretty large space inside, so we sat down to eat there. At least two gentlemen stopped by to ask how we were doing and chatted with us for a bit. Not only is the food amazing, but so is their hospitality. We can't wait to be back and bring the rest of our family and friends to join us.

Yelp

Yelp
We had the XO and Ganzo. Both were delicious, everything tasted very fresh, it reminded us of when we initially had these sandwiches in Italy. For the first time we also had dessert from pino's, the toasted schiacciata with Nutella was wonderful. Service is great, employees were very welcoming. So glad we have a Pino's in LA now, will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved it! The sandwich is so big and flavorful. The space is huge. The staff was very friendly. I subbed the cheese for stracciatella cheese in my sandwhich. I got the garlic instead of pesto and it is very garlicky.

Yelp
Pinos sandwiches are the best there are. My brother spent a semester abroad and first showed me this place when I visited him in Florence. To have a location so close to where I live now is unreal. Not only is Pino the sweetest man alive, but I've since met Kev who I believe runs the LA location and he's incredibly kind as well. Epic sandwiches, wonderful staff, 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Sandwiches are really good here. Me and my work crew stopped here earlier in the week. I like the Brasco Sandwich. Great tasty meat and fresh bread. Service was good, nice and helpful employees. Taste really good, I will be back.

Yelp
As a French person appreciating good quality ingredients, I had high expectations and Pino' Sandwiches LA did not disappoint ! The fresh flavor of the pesto, the generous amount of tomatoes and prosciutto will make you think you are in Florence, Italy. The Focaccia sandwich is served warm, toasted to perfection ! I can't wait to try more!

Yelp
Wow. Amazing sandwhiches. One of the best I've had in LA. People need to come by and try it.

Yelp
Amazing, better than east side deli. The bread is the best. Great people and customer service.

Yelp
I tried the Ghiotto and it was fantastic. I got a lot of help and recommendations from the staff and the buildout looks really good. We will be going back for more.

Yelp
Mouthwatering sandwiches with perfect ratios of ingredients to satisfy any craving. Great employee service with a friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
I wanted to visit the Florence location the last time I visited but didn't have a chance. My sandwich was SO GOOD and was big enough to split with my partner. I had the XO. I am pretty picky and am always customizing something and I appreciated how they asked me upfront if I wanted to change anything when I got to the toppings. The panini press took a little bit of time but I understand as they are still working out their opening logistics. Their staff were working very hard and I know once they have their flow down it's going to be even better! Would LOVE if they got a wine/beer license!! I am SO happy they are here and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The staff was very kind. Unfortunately the sandwich was very mid I got the gonzo and it was pretty flavorless and the sandwich was way over toasted I was hoping for more.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches with speciality Italian ingredients. They have bresaola (cured beef) which is hard to find in most American sandwich shops. Highly recommend!

Yelp
These sandwiches are deeeelicious! They have many options and even let you try the meats before deciding. Staff is helpful and very nice. It's a cool, informal spot that makes you feel right at home.

Yelp
I have been to the one in Florence so I decided to check this place out. We went in a Saturday, at 2:00. Only a couple of people in front of me. Sandwiches were good. I ordered the Brasco with pesto and the Ghiotto, which was better of the 2. I was hoping they had The Suite Life of Lauren, but they don't. Place was clean. There's parking in the back. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Legit and a half. Really somehow both fluffy and crunchy bread baked in-house. Really friendly staff, and the manager Kev couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. Sizable portions. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
The review is more about safe food handling and not the food. When I got there, the guys were very friendly and welcoming. They got my order and started working on it. The spatula that they use to grab the sandwiches being warmed up fell to the ground. One worker picked it up and put it back on the counter. They did not wash it or replace it. They kept using it. At that point, all the heating machines were full of sandwiches and di lost track of my order. They were having a hard time identifying which sandwich belonged to who. They kept using the dirty spatula and I ended up getting a wrong sandwich. I didn't eat it because I was a little disgusted about the spatula. I'll try it again soon because they do look good and some customers that were there mentioned they have gone multiple times because it's so good. I'm hoping management can train better about safe food handling.

Yelp
I'll be truly amazed if this place survives at the same spot East side deli use to be in. East side stomps on this place when it comes to taste, variety and value. Not sure what the draw is here. I need the recipe on how to fool the customer into thinking a thin $19 sandwich is worth it.

Yelp
4.75 stars - wonderful fresh ingredients and friendly staff, the sandwiches are huge and filling. Couldn't eat more than 4 bites! I think they could be more generous with the cheese as all the sandwiches we got had little cheese relative to the meet, vegetables and sauces which were plentiful.
