"Potted plants are set nicely against a background of exposed brick walls and industrial accents here. On top of the short à la carte menu, the Nyonya combo set built around pandan nasi lemak with your choice of toppings is especially popular. The rice is plated on a banana leaf and topped with mildly hot homemade sambal. Another speciality is Siam bihun – turmeric rice vermicelli with shredded omelette and sauces. Round out the meal with tub tim krob." - Michelin Inspector

Cute shop in George Town connected to many other cafes in their back alley. Food is decent. Curry chicken does run out pretty fast. We were there over the festive season and they struggled to serve with the volume. Family run business, servers are the older generation who do need more time with customer orders, so do go in with a bit more patience 🙂

Verdict: I like the Fried Beehoon. I will come back for that. Food: + Fried Beehoon (9/10): The turmeric flavour is special and delicious. + Nasi Lemak with Pan Fried Chicken (6/10): The nasi lemak taste good, but the chicken was overseasoned. + Red Ruby (dessert) (10/10): Taste good, not too sweet. + Black Glutinous Rice (dessert) (9/10): Delicious with subtly sweetness. Service: The service was great and friendly. Environment: The restaurant is small and packed but nicely decorated.

The sambal chicken is well-marinated and neither too salty nor too spicy. It is tender and pairs well with the fried bihun, creating a delicious combination. The Thai milk tea is good and not overly sweet, unlike the ones we had in Thailand. It’s highly recommended for those who enjoy milk tea with moderate sweetness. This cafe is a great spot to visit if you're craving Nyonya food. I’ll definitely return to try other dishes, such as curry chicken nasi lemak, and I hope they live up to expectations.

Very cozy eatery which serves a variety of local food. The food is tasty (not too spicy) and the environment is comfortable ( a lot of air blowers, air conditioners & fans). The drinks are not sweet (you can add sugar to the Kopi O based on your preference). This is not common in local eateries where drinks are on the sweeter side. Recommend if you want to have a different experience in trying local dishes.

Ordered nasi lemak curry chicken with egg for rm20.90. Pandan rice was surprisingly tasteless initially but i got some sweetness in the end definitely not very lemak. I know supposed to be pandan but even then pandan also not very strong. At least the sides of ikan bilis and peanuts cracker and egg was well done. Chili was also pretty decent. Curry chicken curry was thick. Chicken was okay slightly better than kl tough chicken. Taste was alright nothing too bold. Overall the important part like rice and curry chicken was average while sides was well done. Maybe the only good important aspect was the chili.

Seeking refuge from the heat, opted for lunch here. This place is a hidden gem! Tried the nasi lemak with curry chicken + Ju Hu Cha (RM20.90), and it was a solid choice. The fragrant rice paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful curry chicken — comfort food at its best. What caught my eye was the barley butterfly pea flower with lime (RM6.90). It’s not your typical barley drink; thicker texture which my guess is that the barley is blended to the drink for an added twist. Refreshing and unique, it’s a drink I’d come back for. Also had a Thai milk tea (RM8.90) — sweet, creamy, and just the right pick-me-up. The total came to RM36.70, which felt reasonable for the quality and portion size. The warm and friendly service added to the charm, making it a delightfully satisfying dining experience. Highly recommended! Visited on 08Dec2024.

I absolutely loved my experience here! Very cozy environment, great menu with lots of local options and amazing service! I had the Pandan Nasi Lemak with curry chicken and it’s one of the best meals i’ve ever had! Definitely recommend this place :) The flavors paired so well, it wasn’t too spicy and the service was so fast!
