I dine at Myrth often, and recently hosted a bridal shower here. All of our meals here hit the spot, and their event dining was no exception. I received so many comments on the quality of the food and drinks served. Their environment is also aesthetically lovely, from their decor to their flatware, and I loved that I didn’t need to do a bunch of decorating to make the space feel fun and charming. The AGM, Katie, helped me plan the event and made it so easy from start to finish. She had wonderful recommendations, and was present on site to help work our event and make sure it ran smoothly! I always recommend Myrth for a meal, and if you have an event to plan this is a guaranteed hit!

Really pleasant experience all around. Great location, the outdoor patio was nice, the server did great, the pizza and pasta was delicious (a liiiitle pricey but fit the venue). I would go back!

We visited for my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful experience! Food was amazing and unique, but the real standout is the staff! Super knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We went on a Sunday and apparently everyone else eats early because we were the only people in the restaurant an hour before close. As former service folks ourselves we felt bad, but they were so kind and we all had a good laugh about our “private dining experience”. They didn’t rush us at all and even still took the time to bring out our pie with a candle in it. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our evening at Myrth. The decor was cute and trendy. Being a new restaurant I figured it might have some issues with service but our waitress was a pro who did a great job and even though there were some delays on drinks overall it felt smoother than most restaurants on a busy Saturday evening. Drinks were balanced and fun. The food was really delicious for the most part. We ordered the roasted vegetables to start. I was a little disappointed by the seasoning though. Plus the portion size on this dish was small considering what they charge, but it was still enjoyable. Our pasta dishes were fantastic. Great options with awesome flavors, perfect seasoning and execution. All of the reviews raving about the honey pie are true! So good! We would be VERY interested in buying a whole pie for the holidays (hint hint) lol. We are excited to return!!!

Convenient location in Ada. Friendly service. Food is bland (and overpriced for what it is). Pasta w/ Vodka Sauce and (1/2) Burrata. No cracked pepper or any flavors. No bread, as typical in Italian restaurants. Seating feels cantina style.

We ate as a group of six adults, with reservations on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks, appetizers, each person got an entree, and more drinks with dinner. The waitress was pushy and continued to ask us when we wanted to order dinner, which killed the relaxing vibes. The food was good, but felt overpriced for the portions and need to add protein for more money. And the lack of bread as a standard at an "Italian Restaurant," was disappointing.

Despite being a small menu, Myrth offers an excellent selection of great tasting selection of appetizers, wood-fired pizzas, and pastas. The meatballs and potato and leek pizza were very good, and they also have a variety of very unique cocktails that are definitely worth trying! Service was a little on the slow side, but luckily we were not in a rush. It was a pleasant atmosphere for a relaxing dinner experience.

Get the spicy cheese and add anchovies. Might be the single best pizza in the Grand Rapids area. Awesome interior design, great service, delicious food and pizza, my only complaint is it is located in Ada.

Finally got to try Myrth. We had a reservation for 4 for a Saturday night. We were seated promptly despite the place being quite full. We liked the bright space. Most of all we appreciated that there was no loud music and the sound was dampened. It was super quiet but we could have a decent conversation and hear one another. We appreciated that. Our server was attentive and friendly. It looked like they were well staffed, which was a bit of surprise these days. Some of us had cocktails and they were well done. We started with focaccia which came with three sauces. The foccacia was moist with an excellent top. The sauces were all good. My spice loving family most liked the Calabrian oil. Beautifully made focaccia. Because we were trying it out, we ordered a spicy cheese pizza for the table. It came out very quickly as they have a lovely pizza oven in the corner. The thin crust pizza was delicious. Good cheese and sauce with a dusting of peppers. We all had pastas. They are all handmade and were excellent. Properly cooked and fresh. We had the bucatini, the radiatore with prosciutto, and the penne. We couldn't decide which was best as they were all great. The chocolate pie was delightful. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is unreal! I seriously loved everything about this place and the food was incredible! Myrth has been on my list to try since the day it opened so I am glad I finally made it there. We made a reservation ahead of time and I'm glad we did because it was decently busy when we arrived. I had a glass of red wine which was very good, and started with the romaine salad! It was very refreshing with the vinaigrette on it and I always love when egg is incorporated into a salad. For my entree, I had the bucatini which had clams, Calabrian chilis, lemon and cream. This was super delicious. I am still thinking about this dish and how good it was! The pasta was cooked perfect and everything just came together so perfectly. It definitely had a little spicy kick from the chilis but it wasn't overwhelming for me. My friend had the radiatore and I tried a bite of hers and this was also delicious. This place can be a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for because it tastes and looks like a high end meal. Plus the chef is a James Beard award winner! I plan to come back in the future to try the pizza and their dessert menu.

Such a great experience! We made a reservation in advanced, it was definitely busy so I'm glad we did. Food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff was also very kind and did a great job explaining the menu. The design and energy of the restaurant is incredibly different and cute! I loved it. It would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion :)

This was a tough one. Went for lunch with friends. Venue is charming and clean. Service was decent, not exceptional, but no complaints. The lack of more stars is that the lunch menu is very problematic. The appetizers with the exception of the focaccia aren't really 'sharables'. Would have been fantastic to see a hummus fresh veggie appetizer, they already have cannellini beans on the menu which can be whipped into a fantastic dip, and focaccia or pizza dough triangles could be subbed for pita. We all ordered paninis, which were very good! This isn't a fried food place, but chips on the side along with the soup or salad would complete the plate, without something like that the plate just looked pretty sparse. Also the reason we 'all' ordered paninis was that only full sized dinner pizzas are on the lunch menu. Lunch is more about friends and co-workers not family, so sharing entrees isn't always a thing. Personal sized versions of the dinner pizzas would be a much better offering, and wouldn't require any change in ingredients or much re-training of cook staff. Probably better as a dinner venue.

What a great dinner spot! Nestled in downtown Ada, this was perfect for a double date. They had an extensive cocktail list, so we all got just what we liked. We wanted to try the pasta and the pizza, so we ordered the penne with fennel sausage and burrata, a spicy cheese pizza, and a pepperoni pizza. The flavor of everything was so dynamic, I couldn't stop eating! The atmosphere here is pretty casual and fun, but the service was on par for a 5 star restaurant! Overall, a great experience!

New place near my home town that feels super cozy and classy. We ended up doing pizza takeout but I wish we would have eaten in. Pizza was great, definitely some of the best in the area.

Awesome spot in downtown Ada. Great food, great atmosphere, and is the perfect "upscale" spot in the area compared to Mudpenny or Garage Bar. We ordered the potato and leek pizza, which has Leelanau Cheese Raclette, potatoes, leeks, cream, rosemary, and black pepper. That was incredible. Such an odd pairing, but works so well together. We also got the pork meatballs with garlic tomato sauce--such a great appetizer as well and a great way to start if you're looking for something more substantial than the garlic focaccia. Lastly, we got the spaghetti alla carbonara--nothing special. It had a great flavor, but I would try a different pasta. Overall, a great experience. Super busy with a reservation on a weeknight, so make sure to get one in! Other than that, the bar is great and the place feels like a blast from the past. Will definitely be back!

To start, I really have to give Myrth 5 stars. This is based on everything we had being so utterly exceptional. Wonderful flavors oozed from our dishes. With lots of sharing, we enjoy each other's meals. We made reservations for a busy Friday night and were promptly seated at our appointed time. The restaurant has a really nice, alive vibe - loud but not too loud to stifle conversation. Our server introduced herself and took drink orders. I was impressed with the reasonable priced wine by the glass prices. We each ordered a glass of Montepulciano followed by a glass of Corvina. Wonderful tasting vintages. We started our food order with garlic focaccia. This came with three unique dipping sauces and gladly contributed to my carb overload. I ordered a wood fire pizza. The spicy cheese - mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, oregano, and Calabrian chilis provided an unusual taste which I cannot wait to have again. I'm usually not a fan of cheese blends-mozzarella ONLY should be used on pizza but I was proven wrong in this case! This was totally different from pizzas I've had in the past but so amazingly excellent! My wife ordered Strozzapreti, which was prepared with sweet corn, wood-roasted tomato sauce, cream and basil. Since we both share, I was just as thrilled tasting this amazing creation as I was a with the pizza. Previous reviews mentioned how great the Honey Pie was. Right they were. Two pieces would have been overload so we sure enjoyed sharing one piece. Perhaps my only "less than effusive comment" centers around the somewhat limited menu. My wife and I found many things we'd enjoy but the lack of greater variety will limit who we come here with. I'm hoping that as a new restaurant, Myrth simply wants to open doing things extremely well before they expand the menu. Service is north of outstanding. Myrth is a fun, alive restaurant which we expect to visit again and again. Welcome to Ada!!

We decided to stop at Myrth for a late lunch today and I am so glad we did. The ambiance of this place is amazing! Very upper class, chic, clean, and intimate. They have a variety of nonalcoholic cocktails as well as the alcoholic variety and a large selection of wines and beer. My husband and I shared a pizza with gluten free crust and lions mane mushrooms. It had great flavor but whole garlic cloves would set this pizza over the edge! The gluten free crust is probably one of the best I've had. It has a mildly sweet and nutty flavor and was nothing like cardboard or sand. The service was also 5 stars! This was just an all around great experience and we can't wait to come back. 5 stars in all points, great job guys!

Myrth has been open for just over a month in downtown Ada. Their chef won The James Beard Foundation's Best Midwest Chef in 2016 for his work at a different restaurant, so this was a highly anticipated opening. The menu is small and consists of a few starters, wood-fired pizza, pasta, housemade desserts, and beverages. We were seated right away and I noticed that it was quite busy for a weekday evening - definitely make a reservation. The space is bright and modern with some nice furnishings and decor. I enjoyed the ambiance and design of the restaurant, but it was super loud. Our server was polite and efficient, although I would have loved a bit of background on the restaurant/menu and we didn't get any guidance. I think she figured we just knew what we wanted, which we did, but I always like to know a bit about a new place. We ordered the radiatore pasta (parmigiano reggiano, cream, white wine, prosciutto), the fennel sausage and summer squash pizza, and the blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream as well as a slice of the honey pie for dessert. The pizza was good, but I really loved the pasta. I had heard they make their pasta in house, but since we didn't get any info on it I'm not sure. Either way, it was perfectly cooked and the cream sauce was nicely balanced with some acidity from the white wine. The prosciutto added a savory element and the cheese was delicious. Nate and I shared both the pasta and the pizza, but I'd go back and get more pasta just for myself. It was like grown up mac and cheese, so good. I like wood-fired pizza, but I feel that there are so many places with it now that it really needs to be excellent in order to stand out. Myrth's was good, with a nice ratio of toppings and sauce, but it just didn't blow my mind. At $21 it was a bit pricey but Nate really liked it it. I'd heard rave reviews of the honey pie - I almost didn't order it since I knew it would be super sweet (and our server said so as well), but I'm SO glad we did because it was definitely the standout of the meal. The blueberry pie was just okay, nothing special. But the honey pie was decadent, sweet, and delicious. It's like the best pecan pie you've ever had without the pecans. The slice was generous and enough to split between the two of us for a sweet treat. This is a great addition to the area and worth a stop if you love pizza and/or pasta.

Early hype lives up to expectations. Myrth has been home for less than a month and was better than expected. If you had to get one thing on the menu it would be the buttered focaccia bread with dipping sauces. Unreal. We split the white fish pasta dish and the spicy cheese pizza. Both were great. Would easily get the same thing again. Out the door for $115 (with tip) - 2 drinks a piece, bread, pasta, and pizza.

We had a reservation that I had made prior to their opening. We needed to ensure that we'd be able to take our daughter, visiting from Minneapolis, to Chef Paul Berglund's newest endeavor. He's still a folk hero back in the Land of 10,000 Lakes from his award-winning days at The Bachelor Farmer. What a wonderful addition to the new Ada village area! The space is simple, elegant, and welcoming, and the staff was consistently a great combination of professional and friendly. And then came our reason for being there. The roasted root vegetables with aged balsamic and gouda appetizer was delicious, the 3 of us sharing as a small appetizer. Our main dishes - Bucatini all'Amatriciana, Radiatore in a light cream sauce with prosciutto, and Spaghettini with garlic-roasted beefsteak tomatoes and basil were all excellent. No leftovers went home with us that night. Although quite satisfied, our charming server suggested we try their pastry chef's Salted Honey Pie. One slice of pie + 3 forks = a very happy family. The pie was amazing and our dinner was fantastic. I have little doubt that Chef Berglund has created something very special in our community. I look forward to celebrating many milestones at MYRTH for years to come.

Myrth never seems to disappoint. A perfect Italian oasis outside of proper Grand Rapids that will always have me coming back. If you're looking for a taste of simple, well done cuisine, it's the place to be! All of the pizzas and handmade pasta dishes are great, service is excellent. Not too pretentious by any means at all. The dining space has a really welcoming and bright vibe that is suited for anyone. Myrth is overall the Italian restaurant that west Michigan has been needing and wanting for years, highlighting local ingredients from our hardworking farmers and showcasing what Chef Paul Berglund has been working on the last few years. A truly great wood fired pizza dough, an al dente handmade pasta, or a place to grab a quiet drink and a quick appetizer outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Grand Rapids. Go to Myrth.

We came on a Wednesday evening to have a birthday dinner for my wife. We were lucky to have a reservation because it filled up quick. Our service was fantastic from the moment we walked in until we left. The hostess was friendly/inviting, all the food runners were great and knowledgeable, and our server was outstanding. We loved everything we ordered but the homemade pasta was by far our favorite. The Calabrian Chili Oil was our favorite of the dipper sauces with the Garlic Focaccia. We even kept the sauces to use with our pizza. The pizza was delicious but we wished the bottom was kicked a little more so it was less floppy, but we still loved it. Overall, great new addition to downtown Ada. This visit was only 4 days after they opened so I know they'll continue to iron out the details.

Great ambience with fantastic food at affordable prices. This is high quality pizza with great drinks and the exact injection of quality dining that the Ada area needs. The staff are friendly, prompt, and know the menu well. Can't recommend more highly.

My boyfriend and I decided to head out to Myrth on a whim, knowing we were going to end up with some kind of wait, we thought we'd give it a shot anyway. Being a Friday night, we were pleasantly surprised that we got 2 spots at the bar and could see the pizza oven at work, watch the bartenders make some great cocktails, and enjoy our dinner. The two entrees we got were great! I only decided to knock off a star due to pricing and size of the entrees. The pizza was great and perfect size to share, but we ordered the pasta (absolutely fantastic) but it was a really small portion to share but maybe felt that way because we were extra hungry. I would definitely like to give Myrth a try again as we had a good time.

Myrth is the newest neighbor to join Ada's quaint eating scene. Ambience is clean and bright, yet casual. The name is a play on both mirth--i.e., the emotional component of humor--and "my R.T.H.", the latter being the leading initials of Chef Paul Berglund's spouse and kids. Menu items each have a twist that sets Myrth apart. For example, there's a coffee martini that's topped with grated Parmesan, and a pasta dish paired with shredded whitefish (loved this one). Myrth's wood fired pizzas are hands down *winners,* and the pasta dishes are unique and savory. Save room for their honeycomb pie, and get it a la mode--Myrth makes their own ice cream! Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Reservations accepted. Great for a night out.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Myrth, and it was an absolute delight! This hidden gem in downtown Ada along the riverfront is a must-try for food enthusiasts. From start to finish, the experience was simply amazing. The wood-fired pepperoni pizza was a showstopper. The crust had a perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness, and the smoky flavors from the wood-fire oven added a unique touch that elevated the taste to new heights. It was truly a pizza lover's dream come true! Equally impressive was the Spaghettini with fresh tomatoes. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the burst of flavor from the fresh tomatoes was simply divine. Each bite was a delightful journey of taste and texture. I can't neglect to mention the modern, bright, and clean decor that contributed to the overall positive ambiance. It was refreshing and inviting, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. Kudos to the attentive and friendly server who went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met promptly. After savoring these two outstanding dishes, I'm already planning my return to Myrth. The combination of mouthwatering flavors, delightful ambiance, and exceptional service makes this place a true winner.

Had the pleasure of coming here for a Friday night dinner. Restaurant was full and decor was bright, light, and airy. Nice size space too. Nice cocktail menu, and we enjoyed an aperol spritz and bourbon cocktail. Ordered the pork meatballs as an app. They were good but probably will not order again and try something different. The tomato was good for dipping our pizza crust into. We shared a pizza and pasta dish. Loved the wood fired crust and opted for the potato and pepper pizza. That was tasty. The pasta was probably my favorite with the handmade pasta and eggplant "sauce" with prosciutto. We shared a the honey pie with vanilla ice cream. Our server said desserts are made fresh daily. Honey pie was good and reminded me of a brûléed gooey butter cake. Service was great and look forward to eating here again

Enjoyed pizzas here for lunch. Had a pepperoni and their pork meatball pizzas. The flavor of the meatballs was delicious. Wood fired oven makes a great texture on the crust and the toppings. Service was good. Waitress was knowledgable. I will be back. The only downside is parking...the new Ada is feeling a bit over developed and lacks parking. Not unique to Myrth - a challenge when visiting any of the tenant of the village.

Food is okay, but the menu is limited. I find it to be on the pricier side for pizza and pasta dishes. Servers are friendly and the restaurant is clean.

I wanted to like this place but the menu only offers pizza and pasta. Not at all helpful for a low carb or carb free diet. The wine list is very limited and very expensive. My bill for one small unremarkable pepperoni pizza and three small glasses of wine was $81. Skip this place if you like to eat healthy.

Very good new restaurant in Ada. Extremely favorful pizza, and a ton of great-looking pasta dishes. My two cocktails were good. Great service! Came by often and was knowledgeable about the menu. A few people have complained about the small menu. In my experience, the smaller the menu, the better the food. This is obviously a menu that the kitchen has mastered. This isn't Applebee's with 20,000 options.

This is a gem of a restaurant. The perfect balance of a relaxed top tier restaurant. The service was impeccable, our waiter was completely on top of it, while not interfering l, perfect. The food was out of this world delicious and properly priced. I will definitely be eating here again!

Three of us went with high expectations, they tout their James Beard chef. Well, we liked the wine and the roasted vegetables. The pizza and pasta were lackluster, however. Limited menu was also disappointing. The homemade ice cream with chocolate sauce was good, not as creamy as we expected, but good. I would go back if someone wanted to try it but I would go somewhere else first. I liked the interior. Our server Kaitlyn was excellent. Please, work on the food. We wanted to love it.

Absolutely loved this place on its opening night. Very approachable atmosphere. Not too fancy but still upscale. Comfortable in jeans coming from the park across the street with my kids or dressed up for date night. The crust on the pizza is perfect...zero sag. The pasta was also great and I can't wait to try the others. Kids couldn't enough focaccia and vegetable appetizers. Might as well ask for a second order of bread when your order because it's that good. Strawberry pie with whipped cream was good. Honey pie a la mode was incredible and will order it every time I come!

When I tell you RUN to make a reservation, I mean it. Went in last night (a Friday night) and everything was absolutely incredible. Our server was wonderful, the staff was friendly and efficient and the food was the cherry on top. SO good. Not to mention the space is gorgeous - every small detail was thought of. Menu is smaller to allow for fresh ingredients - that's the whole point of a scratch kitchen concept. As a reminder - Myrth isn't a Cheesecake Factory or an Olive Garden so if you're looking for a full menu booklet, just go there. Amazing and unique restaurant concept for the Grand Rapids area. Looking forward to becoming a regular.

Myrth was incredible! We had a reservation and got in right on time. Super flavorful food and such a cute interior. Really love seeing Grand Rapids step up their food game with places like Myrth.

Great service but disappointed in the drinks for the price of the lake effect drink served up expect 3/4 full glass...Best part is the lions mane wood fired pizza.

My wife and I went to Myrth Sunday night. We had the spicy cheese pizza and salted honey cake for dessert. The pizza was outstanding. The crust was thin and charred. The pizza sauce was fresh, a perfect compliment to the spicy cheese. 6 pieces was just the right amount to share. The salted honey cake was amazing. They also make their own ice cream in house. One of the better desserts we have ever had. I highly recommend trying this little joint in downtown Ada, MI.

We ordered the pork meatballs, bucatini, and spicy cheese pizza and everything was wonderful! All dishes were perfectly cooked (moist meatballs, Al dente pasta, and chewy pizza crust) and tasted extremely fresh and well balanced.

OUTSTANDING visit Saturday night. Service/ Food/ Wine - all were great. Glad we had a reservation though we saw a few walk-in people able to grab a spot at the bar. Roasted vegetables were so flavorful with the balsamic vinegar and thin slices of cheese on top. Also started with the focaccia- very light and airy. All dips were very tasty though spicy oil had a kick - hint swirl it a little w/ the carmelized onions to sweeten/soften the heat. Pasta (homemade?) in Bucatini was delicious. I usually want meat w my pasta, but this was incredible as prepared. Also had to try the Lion's mane-mushroom pizza. These mushrooms' flavors coupled with the (really light) sauce and cheese- tantalized w each bite ( as expected far, far, far from normal mushrooms on a pizza). Thought the Barbera wine paired exceptionally well. I know a lot of food, and again thankfully the bread was so airy (and we did bring home leftovers) but we did try the honey pie w salt, and added homemade vegan pistachio (ice cream?). WOW - must try!!! Can't wait to go back.

Right away, I noticed the plaza Myrth finds itself. It's a very nice development with several restaurants. Walking in, it looked modern and welcoming. Soon after we were seated we were picking out signature cocktails. Seated with our friends, Jim and Dawn, we each chose a different drink. San Siri Sour, un Ada Oda, Yo Adrian, and Myrth G+T. I have to say, the most memorable was the G+T. I added a photograph.... It was a beautiful summer evening drink. It even had several aromatic herbs floating in the Large gin goblet. The bar staff was spot on with their detail. These drinks were multi-dimensional. Each drink had its own personality. I was very impressed. We ordered the Garlic Focaccia bread and grilled vegetables. The bread is not to be missed!!! Wow. My favorite main dish was the Pennete with whitefish and dill cream sauce. A+! Prices seemed moderately high for pizza and pasta. I can see this menu getting old, but our waiter assured us that the menu changes regularly. 3 stars because it's just pizza and pasta. I also don't think think prices are commensurate with the food offered. A wonderful place to find yourself on a summer evening!

What a wonderful addition to one of our preferred locations to dine out - Ada! We had been anxiously anticipating the opening of Myrth in June and it did not disappoint! We have been 3 times since it has opened and we our looking forward to our Friday night visit this week. We have tried almost everything on the menu and find it hard to pick a favorite as it is all delicious and appetizing. The ambiance is very contemporary, the drinks are innovative, food is flavorful and the dessert is the best! Love their homemade ice cream and sauces. I also enjoy that the menu changes and can't wait to try something new on our next visit! Myrth has become our favorite place to visit in Ada!

Great food, surprising depth of tastes for seemly simple meals! The plates are nominally Italian. There's a lot of serious laying of flavors and interesting seasonal combinations.

It started with the problem of finding the restaurant. Other than an inconspicuous small sign on the door there was nothing else identifying the restaurant. We had a hard time finding it. We came during what they call 'in between' time. It was 3:45pm. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. The menu during this time is infinitely small; a handful of different pizzas and perhaps 6 appetizers. OK as long as the rest of the experience was good I am still in! To bad it wasn't. We were served a glass of luke-warm water with no ice to start. We each ordered a different wood fired pizza with prices ranging from $23 to $26. There just was nothing positive to say about the food or the rest of the experience. Perhaps it is better at dinner time but I won't ever be finding that out.

Dined at Myrth two times since their opening. The vibe is very cool. You better have a resy ( they accept Resy or Tock) or you're not getting in except maybe at the bar. We were seated once in the dining room with a reservation and once at the bar (lucky for us as the place was packed at 6:00). The food is very good! Pizza is authentic as Italian pizza can be. We love to create our own as the menu choices are a little out there for us. Recommend the Romain and Parmesan salad as a split. The limited pasta choices all looked yummy at the other tables. We will try one soon. Save room for the awesome homemade style pies. We've tried the honey and the blueberry with special ice cream flavors as a side with the pie. Can't wait to return again!

Atmosphere is incredible very yummy food. Could use a little wider verity but it's delish!

Visited Myrth for a spontaneous mid-week dinner and was not disappointed. Drinks and dinners were excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely visit again.
