The Best New Bars In LA

"Sauced is a wine bar from Williamsburg known for its lack of menu and being really into vinyl, which both sound très Brooklyn. But knit beanie credentials aside, a few glasses of natty wine at this six-month residency on the rooftop of the Stile Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa (formerly the Ace Hotel) makes for a sexy little evening. An elevator takes you to a lush, fluorescent-red patio with sweeping views. Bartenders cheekily ask you to name a color and an adjective—red and fruity, orange and funky, etc.—as you sample a few bottles before committing. And that’s really it. Bring friends, marvel at the pointy antenna atop Wilshire Grand, and sip salty Georgian whites you’ve never heard of. " - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

LA’s New Restaurant Openings

"Sauced is a wine bar from Williamsburg known for not having a menu (bartenders recommend whatever is being poured that night) and being really into vinyl. Both traditions live on at its new LA outpost, located on the roof of the [deep breath] Stile Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa, formerly known as the Ace Hotel. Sauced encourages you to chat with the staff, taste a few things before committing to a glass, and not pretend you know everything about pét-nat (even if you do). We recently visited Sauced. Read our thoughts here. " - sylvio martins

Sauced LA Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Sauced is a wine bar from Williamsburg known for its lack of menu and being really into vinyl, both of which sound très Brooklyn. But knit beanie credentials aside, a few glasses of natty wine at their LA location on the rooftop of the [deep breath] Stile Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa (formerly the Ace Hotel) makes for a sexy little evening. Walk past the weird hype beast art in the lobby to an elevator that’ll carry you to a lush, fluorescent-red patio with skyline views. Bartenders, who all seem to have French or British accents, will cheekily ask you to name a color and an adjective—red and fruity, orange and funky, etc. They’ll pour little samples before you commit to a glass or bottle, which is the only ounce of thought this simple bar demands (that, and whether you want some charcuterie or oysters). Bring friends, marvel at the pointy antenna atop Wilshire Grand, and sip salty Georgian whites you’ve never heard of. Sauced is currently slated for a six-month residency in LA, and we hope they stick around." - Sylvio Martins

Cool rooftop place Was staying at the hotel, went up for a drink a few times. Cozy fireplace cool vibes, great wine selection friendly staff. Didn't try the food, small wine bar tapas style menu. Music can get loud but free pool makes up for it Cool views and plants as well

As a wine nerd we are so lucky to have SAUCED come to LA. Taking over the old Ace Hotel Rooftop, it’s a much needed change of pace to a date night spot and neighborhood hangout, it’s low key and comfortable. The wine list is fun and extensive but you can’t see it!!! They offer curated complimentary tastings to match your mood and palette, quite frankly this is how all wine bars should be. Food is fire. They plan to host a slew of different collaborative local food pop ups and their own elevated bistro menus.

A brand new rooftop wine bar in downtown LA. Very cool spot. Quentin is an awesome bartender from Paris. The meat and cheese plate is awesome! Worth of visiting!

One of the best settings for a wine at in LA! Great food, with unique chefs every week and amazing natural wine selection from all over. Highly recommend this spot.

The oasis on the previous Ace Hotel rooftop. We've visited Sauced in NYC and they open in LA too!!! This is super trendy but also casual. Lots of good wine and not pretentious food. Highly recommend!!

It is OK. Views are Nice. Pool (the game) was nice. Wine was OK. Food was a bit worse than OK. Out of the wines we tried only one tasted mature enough to be served. The descriptions of the wine we got were also not something that we found too knowledgeable. The food list was very basic and when we order “chips and anchovies” we literally got “Lay-looking” crisps with 4 pieces of anchovies. There were no other pescatarian protein-friendly options, only bread, olives, charcuterie and a few similar things. After all the raving reviews, I think important to convey this experience to adjust folks’ expectations.

Best night ever. Loren let us taste a few great options of white wine. Very attractive staff. Great prices on bottles. Will be back asap!
