SAUCED

Wine bar · Downtown Los Angeles

"Sauced is a wine bar from Williamsburg known for its lack of menu and being really into vinyl, both of which sound très Brooklyn. But knit beanie credentials aside, a few glasses of natty wine at their LA location on the rooftop of the [deep breath] Stile Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa (formerly the Ace Hotel) makes for a sexy little evening. Walk past the weird hype beast art in the lobby to an elevator that’ll carry you to a lush, fluorescent-red patio with skyline views. Bartenders, who all seem to have French or British accents, will cheekily ask you to name a color and an adjective—red and fruity, orange and funky, etc. They’ll pour little samples before you commit to a glass or bottle, which is the only ounce of thought this simple bar demands (that, and whether you want some charcuterie or oysters). Bring friends, marvel at the pointy antenna atop Wilshire Grand, and sip salty Georgian whites you’ve never heard of. Sauced is currently slated for a six-month residency in LA, and we hope they stick around." - Sylvio Martins
