The Best Asian Dessert Spots In SF

"When we’re craving bingsu on the westside after 9pm, we immediately head to Snow Bliss Cafe. This half-Korean dessert cafe, half-Chinese restaurant spot is open until 11pm every day except Tuesday and serves fantastic bingsu. The ice is just as it should be, soft and smooth and not too sweet. There are six different topping options: strawberry, mango, coffee, matcha, thai iced tea, and taro—but we keep coming back for the mango and strawberry bowls stacked with big chunks of fresh fruit." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez

Snow Bliss Cafe Review - West Portal - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Half-Korean dessert cafe, half-Chinese restaurant, Snow Bliss Cafe serves bingsu and noodles in West Portal until 11pm every day except Tuesday. Start savory with beef chow fun full of bouncy noodles and and the spicy kung pao chicken. It all leads to the best part of any meal here: The bingsu. The ice is just as it should be, soft and smooth and not too sweet. There are six different topping options: strawberry, mango, coffee, matcha, thai iced tea, and taro—but we keep coming back for the mango and strawberry bowls stacked with big chunks of fresh fruit." - Ricky Rodriguez

San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"Half-Korean dessert cafe, half-Chinese restaurant, Snow Bliss Cafe is another exciting opening in West Portal—the sleepy neighborhood has seen a surprising number of buzzy openings (like Elena’s) this year. On the dessert side of this cafe, they’re serving sago and six types of bingsu with toppings like mango, coffee, and taro. Meanwhile, their savory options include a beef chow fun, sweet and sour pork, and curry beef stew. The inside is a bit tight, but everything is walk-in only, so you should find a seat eventually." - ricky rodriguez

Excellent service and attentive. We ordered the Matcha Bingsu. Taiwan style shaved ice. The matcha ice was shaved extremely fine. 😋 The toppings were very soft. The red beans were nice and soft. Will definitely come back again. They also serve dim sum all day and have regular food items as well.

Google
Snow Bliss restaurant is brightly lit. You can read a book in there. We came by after dinner to get some shaved ice. We had the mango bingsu $17, coffee bingsu $17, Thai Tea bingsu $17, matcha bingsu $17. My friends enjoyed it. Their menu is 1/2 half dessert snack shop and 1/2 Chinese food. Service was fine. It did take a while for the last shaved ice to come out. We were done with the previous desserts when it came out.

Google
I’ve been coming here since they opened, and they never disappoint. The service is always friendly and attentive, the space is clean, and the desserts are both delicious and beautifully presented. Prices are very fair compared to other spots in the city, and I really appreciate that this is one of the few places that stays open late. Their specialty is bingsu, but they also offer sagos, boba, snacks, and more. You should definitely come by and support this business!

Google
Fun and unexpected! Friendly staff! The bingsu is amazing! Shaved ice dessert! We enjoyed the mango one—ice cream, big mango pieces, shaved flavored ice with Fruit Loops and syrup! It’s heavenly without being too heavy or sweet! Highly recommend! Will be back to try all the flavors!

We came here twice in about a month and the second time, the waitress recognized us and remembered a brief discussion we had on travel. She was extraordinary and recalled so much, I was shocked. She also recalled that I saw a dish that I would order the next time I was in, tomato beef jein mein. It was excellent as that traditional and classic Chinese American dish is not always easy to find or cooked well ( not too sweet but tangy)! This was perfect! We also ordered the popcorn chicken which was a bit dry but the flavors were wonderful! Given the quality of food and service and price, this may well become our favorite hangout place!!

Google
Jenna was our server and was really sweet! First time trying the place and the popcorn chicken was my favorite. We got a strawberry bingsu and a popcorn chicken, and everyone at the table loved it. Good portions, great pricing, and a family owned business I'm happy to support.

Google
They had me at Squishmallow pillows on the benches. Small selection of dim sum but they serve it all day and are open to 11 PM! Chinese selections are the usual popular stuff plus some great specials. And the shaved ice desserts are gorgeous and varied. Pleasant staff, nice friendly ambiance. Fun for a crowd or small family.

Google
Delicious bingsu! The texture is great. The Taro flavor was our favorite, but my daughter’s favorite was the chocolate. The taro had delicious mochi on it. We also got a scallion pancake. Their menu looks amazing and I’m excited to come back soon and try more foods.

Yelp
I don't usually write yelp reviews but this place BLEW ME AWAY. From the excellent service to the delicious late night treats. This place is a must go if your craving late night deserts with friends. I HIGHLY recommend the lycée Bingsu and the Black Sesame Bingsu. Huge props to our server Jayden who did an exceptional job with service. From checking in on us regularly to giving us anything we needed Highly recommend this place would come back 10/10

Yelp
Snow Bliss is located on West Portal Ave SF. I see other Yelpers review highlighting their dessert creations and for good reason. We came for the shaved ice Mango Bingsu. The shaved ice was so fluffy and the mango topping sweet and juicy. Added a few side toppings for fun. They have an assortment of other Asian dessert treats like Boba drinks, smoothies and Sago. While we were there we asked about the hot food items on their menu which we did not know they had. We thought it was just a dessert cafe. We had to come back and try their dinner. Glad we did. We ordered Black Pepper Beef, Salt and Pepper Fish and the Popcorn chicken. Freshly cooked and hot off the stove all 3 items where fantastic. My absolute favorite was the Salt and Pepper Fish. Salty and crunchy with garlic and chili garnish. YUMMY! The Pepper beef was very good as well with a good portion of beef with onions and bell peppers. Unlike some other restaurants where the beef is kind of non existent. Very satisfying dish. Both of these come with a big scoop of rice to make a meal. Maybe order a side dish of veggies next time? Popcorn chicken was meaty and juicy piping hot. My wife thought it needed a dipping sauce to accompany it. Prices were reasonable since the portion size was good and came with rice. Many other selections on the menu to try next time! NOTE... they also serve Dim Sum but we did not try it yet. Restaurant interior is clean and bright with bench seating on one side. We came early (5pm) and were seated right away. By the time we left the place was mostly full so come early if you can. I think we were served by the owner but I did not get his name. He was very diligent and polite for sure.

Yelp
This review is for the Chinese food. We had the beef chow fun, won ton noodles, sweet & sour pork, and fried fish fillet. It was not good. The pork tasted like it had been out on the counter for a day. The pork was hard and had an old oil taste. The won ton were average at best and the noodles were kinda soggy. The chow fun was just ok but had -0- wok hei taste. The fish fillet was nicely fried but it was all batter. How was it possible to have the fillet so thin. Overall, dissapointment is an understatement. There wasn't anything redeeming. Maybe 2 stars? I'm generally all about the food, not the decor, nor the service. However... the time between the first and last dish was probably 45 minutes. We only ordered 4 items. And we were maybe one of three tables. It was insane. But the review was based on the food only.

Yelp
IMHO Believe it or not, a banker clued us into Snow Bliss Cafe, since she had just enjoyed a wonton noodle soup lunch here. We took her advice and proceeded to look for the establishment. At the time we didn't know the name of it, just a general idea of its location down the street. Thankfully they had a small sandwich board standing outside their restaurant advertising their specialties, Beef Chow Fun, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Wonton Noodle Soup! Dang, these are all three favorites of mine! We had our choice of tables since it was close to 3 p.m. (They are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.!) We wanted to order take-out and sat down to peruse the menus. Wilson, our waiter, brought us three cups of water to drink while we decided what we wanted. We ordered Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet, Beef Chow Fun, Chicken Pan-fried Noodles, Won Ton Noodle Soup, and Beef Chow Mein. While we waited for our food, we chatted with one of the owners. She was very proud of her sons who help run the restaurant. Not only do they serve delicious Chinese food, and dim sum, but they also serve Bingsu, which is shaved ice. Maybe the next time we come; we'll give it a try! Our food was very well packed with care. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I think we've found a new favorite spot to dine in the neighborhood!

Yelp
New family owned cafe in the city! Mom and son duo. We had a couple of noodle dishes, fried chicken, and some bing su. Good portions and super tasty! The black sesame bing su is the star!
google avatar

Yelp
LOVED this place!! The plating was adorable and the food came out pretty quick! The matcha was my favorite, it was very creamy and still had that matcha taste to it. The lychee was also super light and delicious and it came with whole lychee bits as well! I also tried the thai tea bingsu from a friend and that was great too! my order from best to least of the three would be matcha, thai then lychee

Yelp
The mango bingsu tasted artificial today. And there were definitely not even 25% of mango chunks that's shown in the picture. Really sad because that's one of my favorite parts. New flavor : black sesame - pretty good, tastes even better with condensed milk they put on the side as a topping. The boba was hard. Fries are nicely crisp. Had to ask for my ketchup. Tofu squares are nicely seasoned but they didn't provide a satisfying crisp like the fries did. Popcorn chicken (not pictured) was fried circle balls of chicken. Good but something was off about it. Like they were over microwaved then toasted. We came on a Saturday night - 4 adults, 1 baby who is under 1 year old and 1 newborn in the car seat sleeping until the last 20 minutes, then newborn sat on mom's lap. We were charged for 20% tip. Is it because we were 6 people total? I promise we didn't make a mess, we did for a cup of hot water to heat up a bottle, some extra napkins, we tidied up our adult "mess" and we were NOT the loudest table in the restaurant.

Yelp
We love this place!Food is great, staff is amazing, environment is cozy and clean, location is convenient. We will try their drinks next time

Yelp
New spot and much needed at West Portal! Cafe and dessert combo equals late night bites. Easily commutible for me by the M line, which other muni lines run close by as well. Street parking is available, and opens late. Went around 8pm and it was pretty busy, but seating went quickly. They've got not only desserts but also hot foods including wings, sandwiches, wok fried noodles etc... We got the mango bingsu which was good, but didn't really care for the fruit loop cereal topping. Would like to go back for a late night bite.

Yelp
I came here specifically for the bingsu, and this place did not disappoint! There were so many good options on the menu, and I decided to go for the Thai tea bingsu. This came with Thai tea ice cream, boba, and condensed milk. It was really delicious! The snow was so light and fluffy! It was a pretty big portion, but I finished all of it! Service was also great! They were so friendly here :)
google avatar

Elaine D.

Yelp
This had street metered parking. A decent size space inside to sit. It was definitely aesthetically pleasing. I got the strawberry bingsu and it came out pretty quick. Presentation was nice. I wasn't much a fan, the strawberries were not sweet it was more on the sour side. Maybe a different flavor would be better.
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
Very happy with the strawberry bingsu. It was the perfect amount of dessert for 2 people who had a heavy dinner. It was light and delicious! Will be coming back
google avatar

Jodie S.

Yelp
The matcha bingsu was absolutely delicious and honestly one of the best I've had in a while. The matcha flavor was very strong and the bingsu was a comfortable amount of sweetness and creaminess. Unlike typical bingsu, you actually didn't have to add matcha syrup as you eat because the bingsu is already flavored. Their mochi bits were surprisingly fruit flavored too which eliminates the taste of just glutinous flour. It does come with additional condensed milk and red beans if you want but we didn't find the need to use any of it. Interior has lots of seating and restaurant wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon. They also have a large menu of food items so you can have a meal there too.

Yelp
While the snow was fluffy and flavorful our party of three simply waited too long to enjoy our visit. We thought beating the heat with some shaved ice would be the perfect treat. However our group waited maybe over 30 minutes for our two shaved ices to come out. We noticed that there was only one person working the whole front so we understand that the service was slower but mixed with the heat, it was a sweaty time waiting. We ordered the mango shaved ice which came with fresh mangos and a milk shaved ice which was refreshing but admittedly it came to our table quite melted. Our other shaved ice was Thai tea with the ice being made out of Thai tea which really gave that punch of flavor. Would love to come back when it's not quite as hot to try some of the other dishes. We noticed other tables were ordering the hot food and snacks.
google avatar

Dorothy B.

Yelp
perfect amount of bingsu - well flavored! all the toppings were fresh and so yummy. best one (not pictured) was the thai tea! tea flavor is strong and not too sweet, which was perfect. only thing was i think they forgot our lychee bingsu but not too big of a deal. lots of seating but interior is kind of tight if you need to wait for a table.
google avatar

Bailey L.

Yelp
Came here for a late dinner since most places close around 8pm. Also wanted to try their bingsu. Parking wasn't too bad. Didn't need to wait around 8pm but most tables were getting filled up after we sat down. We ordered the tomato beef with rice, salt and pepper pork chop with rice and mango bingsu. Service was great and attentive. They also offered us chili sauce and they gave us a good amount! The chili sauce was tasty and tasted home made. The beef and tomato rice was very flavorful, tasty and the perfect sweetness. Tasted very homey. The salt and pepper pork chop was pretty good and the pieces were not super fatty which was nice. The bingsu was a bit too sweet as the mango syrup didn't taste like mango puree. There was also whipped cream and ice cream which added to the sweetness. The shaved ice was nice and creamy, but got too sweet mixed with everything else. Overall, I would definitely come back for the food and probably skip the bingsu.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
The mango bingsu was pretty good; I liked that the shaved ice was really creamy (although it did just become normal ice cream once melted towards the end). However, this bingsu was really lacking in its accompanying toppings: The mango ice cream scoop and mango slices on top were alright but I wish there was a little more syrup to go with it, and the fruit loops were stale, which was not very enjoyable.. TL;DR: I'd probably come here again to try something else. It's a solid bingsu but its accompanying toppings were disappointing.
google avatar

Jhanelle C.

Yelp
I've heard bingsu can be pretty pricey but I thought this place was reasonable (under $20). The thai tea was delicious and finished it in seconds. The server recommended the black sesame and it was being advertised throughout the restaurant so we tried it but we wished we got mango or strawberry instead :(. Couldn't finish it, flavors just didn't hit the spot at all for that one so 4 stars for me. Ambiance was cute but service was pretty slow so if you're in a rush, maybe think twice before you go here.

Yelp
Snow Bliss is truly a hidden gem that we were fortunate to stumble upon one evening while searching for something to satisfy our late-night sweet tooth. Their bingsu is a perfect balance -- not overly sweet, since they serve the condensed milk on the side, allowing you to adjust it to your liking. And the portions are generous, one bingsu was more than enough for 2-3 people to comfortably share. The staff is warm and welcoming, and parking is rarely an issue, especially if you visit later in the evening like we did. We'll definitely be coming back, and I can't wait to try the rest of their delicious flavors!
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
I recently visited Snow Bliss with a group of 7, and we were seated promptly upon arrival. I've heard it can get quite busy in the evenings, though. We tried several bingsu flavors, including strawberry, chocolate, tiramisu, and Thai tea. The unanimous favorite was the strawberry--it was the lightest and most refreshing. The other flavors were a bit too sweet for our taste, and the large portions made them difficult to finish. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was decent. Overall, it's a decent spot for dessert, especially if you're sharing with friends.
google avatar

Allena C.

Yelp
After dinner, my daughter was in search of mango bingsu. We were going to go to a cafe nearby, but it was closing within the hour, so we traveled into the city and found snow bliss cafe, which closes at 11:00! I like the West Portal area where you can walk and window shop even when stores are closed. Plenty of street parking when we arrived around 9pm. The cafe is brightly lit and had patrons already enjoying food and desserts. Even after we sat down, more customers were coming in. We ordered a mango bingsu to share. It's definitely big enough for 3 people! They also give you a side of fruit loops cereal and some mango syrup on the side to drizzle on top! Nice and refreshing and not too sweet if you don't add extra toppings. I was fine without adding more sugar to it and felt it was sweet enough. Some of it had mango flavoring and tasted a bit artificial. So be wary about that. But the only way to avoid that is actually making your own mango ice cream and using only fresh mangoes. Still, it was a good after dinner treat!
google avatar

Teason M.

Yelp
Was dragged along to be the babysitter.... We snacked on fries, popcorn chicken, beef chow fun and wrapped it up with Taro Bing Su! Def recommend the beef chow fun. Food came timely and the service was good. The vibes felt welcoming. Check them out !
google avatar

Yelp
After watching a tournament in the city, we stopped off at Snow Bliss Cafe. What they have Chinese food AND dessert!?! Only in San Francisco! ;) A small tight cafe with indoor seating only. Probably not a good place for a large group. Only one restroom. Wilson and another guy waited on the whole cafe. Wilson, especially was very nice, attentive, and very courteous. He had a great attitude. Beef Chow Fun: wide rice noodles, tender slices of beef, and vegetables stir fried in a soy based sauce (4/5). Very flavorful and had that "wok-hay". They did a great job on tenderizing the beef. Mango Grass Jelly (4/5) - This was good..Not sure if the grass jelly was house-made or from a can. Regardless, it was delicious. The mango chunks were soft, soft enough and ripe. We didn't order the Mango Bingsoo but a table next to ours ordered it and it looked delicious. She poured some simple syrup or something sweet on it. Great cafe to get food and dessert! Best of luck to them!
google avatar

Yelp
After a hike in the city, we stopped by Snow Bliss, and the experience exceeded our expectations! We ordered several dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our favorite was the Beef & Green Beans--packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we shared the Thai Tea Bingsu, which was the perfect size for our group of four. It was excellent and a perfect complement to our meal. The service was outstanding as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We can't wait to visit Snow Bliss again the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Russell W.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we didn't get dessert! So we will have to come back and get that, which makes this place cool. It's opened late, has dessert, and has good food! The food was good enough to make me want to comeback for dessert. The beef chow fun was well done and flavorful with tender beef (even better with the chili oil they have). The curry beef and rice was also tasty. I'm not sure I've had curry with zucchini in it, but the veggies were fresh and done well. The wonton noodles were ok. The wontons weren't as full and a little mushy, but the soup and noodles were good. This area is missing a simple good Chinese place. Service was very attentive. Will definitely come back for the dessert, because I like bingsoo, but the rest of my party was too cold for it this time! What's wrong with them?!?
google avatar

Dorothy L.

Yelp
Not the best Chinese food or bingsu but hits the spot if your in the area and craving that combo Food: we've tried both the mango and taro bingsu and both were a tad bit too sweet and the taro had a slight weird taste to it. The fruit loops for the mango bingsoo were also stale Their Chinese food/wings were not bad and were pretty filling and tasty Ambience: has a good amount of space and we've seen chinese tours come here and fit so large enough tables lol Service: it can get quite busy esp during late night peak hours so service might be a bit slower but they've always been nice
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
New late night dessert spot located in the West Portal neighborhood! Snow Bliss primarily specializes in bingsu desserts, but also offers comfort Chinese cuisine and appetizers. The environment felt very comfortable, spacious, and bright -- "like home" to best describe it. There were plushies at a few seating areas throughout the restaurant, TV screens playing the Olympics, and I believe they may have some card games you could borrow. We ordered Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings ($8.99) which came in 5 pieces. Wow, these wings were surprisingly sooo good. The meat was juicy and you can tell it's fresh. The peppers gave it a nice kick and we pretty much cleaned the plate lol. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu Bingsu ($17.99) which is currently not listed on the menu but advertised in store on a white board. The bingsu was creamy, not too icy, and I really enjoyed the coffee flavor in this! Our server told me they opened recently during the summer. Staff is really attentive and friendly. Perfect spot to end the night!
google avatar

Cassandra Z.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is cozy and cute, there are cute decorations and stuffed animals all around. They have plenty of Chinese food options and different desserts ranging from Bigsu to sago. Came here for the bingsu and it was creamy and fluffy. Loved the fresh strawberries and that they had extra sauce on the side. They're special for now is the tiramisu bingsu which I didn't try this time, but will definitely try next time (it comes with vanilla ice cream and a piece of tiramisu too so very decadent!).
google avatar

Janessa M.

Yelp
I came here specifically to get something sweet, so I tried their mango bingsu. It was really good and definitely satisfied my sweet craving. The mangos were perfect and the shaved ice was soft & sweet. This specific bingsu came with mango ice cream, whipped cream, mango syrup, and fruit loops cereal on the side. This dessert can easily be shared between 2-4 people. I definitely would come back to try their other flavors. This place is not that big, but there are a good amount of tables to dine in. I came here on a Saturday night and it was a bit busy. I'm knocking off a star since service was a bit slow.
google avatar

Kate X.

Yelp
This is a cute cafe that has both legit meals and desserts and drinks. It's located near the end of West Portal, and there are parking spaces on the street in front of the cafe and on the residential streets behind the cafe. The cafe was spacious, clean, and had many open tables. The server was also attentive and took our orders quickly after we sat down. We got the tiramisu bingsu for ~$18 to share. There was a slice of tiramisu cake along with 2 scopes of vanilla ice cream on top of the coffee flavored bingsu, and there were also sides of condensed milk and Oreo that you could put on top of the dessert. The bingsu was reasonably sized and every part tasted so good. It was even better than the tiramisu bingsu at Sulbing in south bay.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
ORDER thai tea bingsoo (4/5) the ice itself did not taste like thai tea, but the ice cream on top did. the bingsoo was too sweet for our liking. the boba was flavorful and the perfect texture. it paired perfectly with the bingsoo. it is the perfect amount to share between 2-4 people. SERVICE the service was okay. there was a little bit of a wait to order and to get the check. AMBIANCE the cafe is pretty cramped. there are plenty of tables close to each other.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
A new addition to the local dining scene. It has a welcoming, family-owned feel, which adds a personal touch to the experience. Being a new spot, the service was a bit slow, likely due to being understaffed and still settling in. However, the staff were friendly and eager to make your visit enjoyable. We ordered the Thai Tea bingsu, and it was quite good. The flavors were well-balanced and refreshing, making it a great choice for a sweet treat. We also tried the Mixed Fruit Sago, which was served in a cute bathtub bowl--a fun and whimsical touch that added to the overall charm of the dish. Despite the slight delay in service, Snow Bliss Cafe is a delightful spot with unique offerings and a warm atmosphere. If you're in the area and looking to try something new, it's definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait as they continue to refine their operations.

Yelp
We got the mango bingsu and loved it! We arrived around 9:30 PM, were seated right away, and ordered dessert. The dessert was big, and we barely finished! I appreciate that all the options come with multiple toppings. The waitress was super nice and quick, even though we came close to closing. The dinner dishes looked great, so I'll try those next time. Perfect spot for both dinner and dessert. The inside is small but cozy.

Kimi A.

Yelp
Came here with my family. We got two bing soos and one sago. It was really good, fruit was fresh and everything was delicious. The energy was so fun, bright colors and cute decorations. Service was quick and the food came out very quickly.

Yelp
This is a really nice place to discover desserts. The Thai Ice Tea Bingzu is outstanding. The condensed milk and mochi are delicious and adds a wonderful flavor and texture. The beef in the stir fried noodles was really tender. . The chicken wings was just right crispy and tender. The sauce was very good too. Walter was awesome, honest and his recommendations were excellent. The place was clean and well organized. The prices were reasonable. I would recommend going

Yelp
There isn't a ton of shaved ice places in the city so was excited to try! Thai tea shaved ice (4.5/5) - really yummy and the tea flavor is very prevalent! I thought the icecream was a tad too sweet. We didn't need to use any of the additional condensed milk Mango grass jelly (3.5/5) - after the shaved ice we honestly couldn't taste the flavor. However the fruit was yummy and grassy jelly was good as well. Just probably wouldn't pair it together with a sweeter dessert Definitely coming back here to satisfy dessert cravings!

Yelp
Bingsu in West Portal adds a new dimension to the neighborhood and by looking at the customers that come here, families and dates alike are regulars at this bright high-ceiling spot. We were seated right away and ordered a strawberry bingsu and a Thai tea bingsu. IMHO there weren't enough real strawberries in the bingsu, but we enjoyed the shaved ice and Fruit Loops. After we were done with it, Thai tea bingsu arrived fashionably late and rightly so, because its flavor profile knocked the previous one off the table! The Thai tea ice cream, shaved ice, evaporated milk and boba combo were so tasty, it reminded me of a specific dessert shop (After You) in Bangkok! This is a 'must try' if you like Thai iced tea! Will return to savor more goodies!

Yelp
I came here at night and appreciated that this place stays open pretty late. I ordered Chow Fun and a dessert, and the food was really good. I especially liked that they have chili sauce, which pairs perfectly with Chow Fun. Our server was very friendly, checking on us even though it was a busy time for him. My only issue was that I requested my dessert to arrive with the meal, but it never came--even by the time I got the check. I was a little disappointed about that, but overall, it's a nice spot to hang out with friends, relax, and enjoy some good food.

Yelp
Finally San Francisco gets another authentic bingsu place. Located in West Portal, the parking is pretty easy, especially if you come here after dinner hours. Our waitress was very sweet and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Our group of friends ordered 3 bingsu to share: chocolate, green tea, and thai tea. Both the thai tea and chocolate flavors were good, very strong, and came with a lot of toppings. The matcha was good too but I was expecting more of a stronger flavor closer to "matcha". It's a bit of a generic green tea flavor...I at least think the flavor could be more intense. Overall, the ice was powdery, light, and milky. Things that I look for. I also tried their mango coconut sago (which is served in a cute little tub). It's a simple dessert with sago pearls. The mango chunks were super fresh and in season! Lastly, I was surprised to see chinese/cantonese food on the menu, but my friend was feeling beef chow fun. We loved how generous the portions were with the tender beef, and the taste was surprisingly delicious. (Very good wok hei) I'd only suggest that this place would offer milk substitutes for their drinks. I understand that bingsu and sago, plus other desserts use milk or condensed milk as standard, but the boba and tea drinks could have an option for soy or oat milk to be accommodating to our lactose/dairy-allergy friends. Aside from that, love this cute little mom and pop dessert spot!

Yelp
SO GOOD! The shaved ice isn't just ice. It is milky and creamy and best of all, doesn't taste too sweet! Great mango pieces. Came with a scoop of ice cream and whip cream on top. Small spoonful of captain crunch. Good for 4+ people! If you buy 2, you get 10% off the second! Came on a weekday night and there was tons of seating. Would love to try the beef chow fun next time!

Yelp
We came here for some bingsoo (Korean shaved ice with toppings) and enjoyed the creamy blend of mango ice cream atop the fluffy shaved ice capped with mango and whipped cream. There were also toppings of syrup and cereal on the side should you want that extra crunch. Nice blend of flavors and textures, and plenty to go around if you come in a group. We weren't as impressed with the boba drinks - the crème brûlée milk tea was decent, made with jasmine tea, but the Thai tea had a slightly burnt/bitter taste which was a bit off-putting. Not sure if it was our batch in particular or just how the tea tastes. Either way, a visit is best utilized by going for the bingsoo, which they've perfected, and not so much the beverages. Service was friendly and fast, and our server was nice enough to inquire about our unfinished drink. My friends shared their honest thoughts which she seemed receptive to. There were other savory items on the menu that we might try the next time we come back. Parking in this area can be tough during peak hours, so come a little early to snag a spot.

Yelp
Between the chow fun, Mongolian beef and mango bingsoo, I liked the chow fun best, the bingsoo next and the Mongolian beef not so much. The bingsoo came with a generous scoop of mango ice cream, but for me it clashed with the mango fruit. My friend enjoyed the Trix type cereal for the texture. The Mongolian beef's sauce wasn't to my taste, and the scarcity of actual beef was remarkable; it was mostly onion. The service was ok, the restaurant was clean. The texture of the bingsoo shavings is very nice. I want to go back and check out the coffee and chocolate bingsoo.

Yelp
Wow wow wow...!! Welcome to San Francisco Snow Bliss Cafe! Saw this new bingsu place open up and well, had to try it of course! There isn't really another option in San Francisco, except maybe Powder so it's never been high on the list of Asian desserts for me when in the city. We tried items from 4 categories. For savory, we went with popcorn chicken - it's a dry batter and panko crusted which is different! The thinly sliced serranos were also a nice touch! It was a tad bit salty but still tasty. For something fun, we were intrigued by the bathtub. I think MeetFresh still does the creamy grass jelly combo a bit better but it was still a good dessert and not too sweet! For a drink, I went with the mango passionfruit green tea with more grass jelly. I really appreciated the generally unsweetened profile. It made the drink really refreshing and just a bit tart. Ok, signature dessert time! The Thai tea bingsu had Thai tea flavored ice, topped with slivered almonds, Thai tea ice cream, some boba and also came with extra boba and condensed milk on the side. The texture was EXCELLENT. SO FLUFFY! I also really enjoyed the boba! It was served warm and had the perfect chewiness! I'm so glad this place exists now and I'm also so glad that it's not deep into the city. West Portal is very lucky to have you and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Learned of this place by word of mouth, I had to check it out, especially since they purportedly serve bingsu 빙수. I only went for this reason and tried nothing else on their menu. I was quite excited and saw the bingsu offerings, although it was mostly fruity and none of the more traditional offerings. I ordered the strawberry bingsu to share. It was quite large and reasonably priced at $13. It was nicely presented, generous amount of sliced strawberries all around. It was served with extra syrup & a little cup of fruit loops cereal. The taste was refreshing and sweet enough--I didn't need the extra syrup. Closer examination, I don't feel that this can be called bingsu by the Korean definition, but more like shaved snow. The ice particles on mine resembled shredded coconut and not layered like Korean bingsu. Keep in mind not all shaved ice are created equal, there are differences. Don't be let the Korean signage deceive you into thinking this is real bingsu. This Asian cafe is a great addition to West Portal, offering a variety of snacks, boba teas and sweet treats. While their bingsu was not my preference, however, I would return to try their snacks. It's brightly lit, clean and great service.

Yelp
Great Asian dessert cafe tucked in West Portal! I didn't have much expectations coming here but the dessert was really good and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend the Oreo bingsoo!

Yelp
This was my second visit, as it's one of the few quality spots open late. The service is friendly, though it was noticeably slower this time. Our orders arrived about 10 minutes apart, with the fourth and last dish delayed even further. One dessert was also forgotten about, but still on the receipt which we had removed. Staff tended to remain in the kitchen and only came by when flagged down. Despite these service challenges, the prices are very affordable, as each noodle dish serves two. The food was excellent, though I did notice a small bug in my wonton noodle soup--perhaps why it tasted so good? lol. Parking is ample at night, which is convenient. A tip for the bingsu: hold off on adding extra condensed milk until you've tasted it, as it can get quite sweet. And don't miss the scallion pancakes; they're definitely worth ordering.

Yelp
4.5 STARS I've always thought of West Portal as a sleepy neighborhood in the city...not a destination for food.   But, then this year....BAM!   Elena's opened, then Khao Tiew, and now Snow Bliss Café...the first AZN dessert café in West Portal.   Parking is hard as is, so with these new hot businesses opening up...may the parking gods be with you.   Snow Bliss Café opened this week, taking over the Xiao Loong space. They're open for takeout and indoor dining. No outdoor seating. Walk-in only. We visited on a weekday at 2:15 pm when it was about 1/3rd full.   M E N U Snacks (fries, popcorn chicken, curry fish balls, etc), Chinese-American + Cantonese Dishes, HK Grass Jelly + Sago (mini tapioca) Desserts and Bingsu (Korean shaved ice).   For drinks, they have milk tea, fruit tea, smoothies, and coffee.   F O O D * S&P Chicken Wings (4 pc - $5.99) // 3.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/mr2wuvbu Juicy, flavorful wings but could have been crispier and less salty. * Beef Chow Fun ($15.99) // 4.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/ju2ucw4n Wide chewy flat rice noodles with tender slices of velveted beef, crisp green + white onions, and bean sprouts. Good wok hei (smoky flavor). I find some Chinese restos velvet the beef for too long causing it to be mushy but not here. The beef retained its delicious meatiness. The chow fun is not salty which is my preference but they'll offer soy sauce to season to your liking.   * Curry Beef Stew Rice Plate ($13.99) // 3.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/3acamh5v Tender beef slices in a savory, mildly sweet curry with potatoes, bell peppers, and onions. Based on the menu description, I thought the traditional rough flank would be used in the curry beef stew but they use slices of beef. It was fine but I prefer the traditional cut.   * Strawberry Bingsu: Strawberry Shaved Ice w/ strawberry syrup, condensed milk, fresh strawberry slices ($12.99) // 5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/3sw4m4r2 A mountain of fluffy, powdery soft milk flavored shaved ice is drizzled with strawberry syrup + condensed milk, topped with large ripen sweet+tart strawberries, and crowned with whipped cream. They nailed the bingsu "snow" texture creating a light, creamy, and satisfying, not too sweet dessert. Served with a side of strawberry syrup if you want extra sweetness. I wasn't so sure about the side of Cap'n Crunch Berries Cereal but loved it. Not only was it nostalgic but it added a great texture contrast.   S E R V I C E Kind and friendly staff (full service). Savory foods came out quickly. The bingsu can take at least 20 minutes.   A M B I A N C E Casual and minimalist with 10 tables.   P A R K I N G Very challenging street parking.   Overall - NGL, with the menu being a hodgepodge of things, I wasn't so sure how it would it turn out. BUT, the Chinese food and Korean Bingsu were solid. If you have time to kill while waiting for a table across the street (Elena's), hit up Snow Bliss Cafe for dessert first! :)

Yelp
Our first time at Snow Bliss, because our dentist's receptionist on West Portal recommended it for lunch. This fairly new restaurant is bright and clean and the staff is very friendly. I believe it is family owned. The two of us ordered Sweet and Sour Pork, Beef and Green Beans Stir Fry, and Beef and Tomato Stir Fry (but with noodles instead of rice on this item). We are on a reduced-sodium diet and they will easily adjust the salt content and the level of spiciness on each item you order, because each dish is cooked just for you. We ordered light salt, and each dish was seasoned perfectly. We also ordered a Mango Sago, which was full of mango chunks. The server was very engaging, enthusiastic, and answered our food item questions in detail. We bring our own to-go containers to restaurants, and the he even filled them for us. We will definitely return and plan to try a different drink each time from their fancy drink and shaved ice selections.

Yelp
Bingsu is one of our fave desserts, so we had to check out the new Snow Bliss Cafe. We scored parking right across the street, and there were plenty of tables open upon our arrival. We were seated quickly. Cute place with lots of squishy pillows/stuffies placed along the bench seats. Their menus consist of both savory dishes, desserts, and drinks. Hubs ordered garlic fries ($6.99). Pro - hot and crispy. Con - too salty and not enough garlic. He also ordered the salt and pepper wings ($8.99), which came with 4.5 wings (one was half a wing). Hubs said they were crispy but kinda pricey for what you get. We shared the Coffee Bingsu ($14.99), which comes with a side of condensed milk and brownie pieces, and topped with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, a couple of cookies, and chocolate cookie crumbs. It was nicely presented. The coffee flavor came through. It wasn't too sweet, and I liked the cookie crumbles on top. Didn't care for all the mini marshmallows, and the brownie tasted kinda funny to me. I think I would've liked a cream or something else to pour on top rather than the condensed milk just to add a different flavor profile.
