This modern spot serves up a lively mix of global bites from pork sliders to chicken satay, all while offering cozy vibes and warm service.
"The unassuming neighborhood spot has a $75 prix fixe that is loaded with options. Among the appetizer choices are butternut squash and kale salad, spicy tuna tartare crostini, and burrata with roasted tomato almond pesto. In addition to turkey, among nearly a dozen entrees, there’s dry-aged strip steak, duck breast with figs in a wine sauce, and black linguini with spicy lobster arrabbiata. Blueberry ricotta cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake with Nutella filling are worth saving room for." - Beth Landman
"Sojourn on the Upper East Side is a solid option for when all you need is somewhere that’s “just fine.” It seems like they went through a bit of indecision when deciding what type of cuisine to serve here, because you’ll see everything from chicken satay and garganelli with bolognese to manchego/chorizo croquettes and scallion fried rice. During brunch, their Hangover Cure (home fries with three perfectly poached eggs and spicy avocado sauce) is indeed great for a hangover, and you can pay $30 for two hours of unlimited drinks if you need more help recovering from last night. This place has a ton of covered outdoor seating, so when it’s nice out, organize a reunion with some friends you haven’t seen in a while." - Kenny Yang
"This under-the-radar Upper East Side spot has former Eleven Madison Park chef de partie Peter Petti at the helm, where a DJ will be spinning jazz and ’80s music on New Year’s Day. Apart from such occasional specials like lobster Benedict and a “hangover cure’’ of potato and black bean hash, there’s an a la carte menu with steak and eggs, challah French toast for brunch, and Kobe beef sliders for dinner." - Beth Landman
