The Best Restaurants In Wallingford - Seattle - The Infatuation

"For the finest Mexican breakfast in the neighborhood, head to Taco El Lago. This open-at-7am restaurant serves petite—but not skimpy—griddled burritos stuffed with omelette-style egg sheets, a layer of flattop-toasted cheese, black beans, itty bitty soft potatoes, and a protein, like snips of melty bacon or mild chorizo crumbles. Don’t forget to add on their garlicky tomatillo salsa, and if you’re not very hungry at all, their breakfast tacos are simply burritos in miniature form." - aimee rizzo

The Best Tacos in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"After RoRo BBQ lost the lease on its offsite space for smoking meats, the owners closed down the restaurant and teamed up with new co-owner Cayetano Mendez to reopen as a taqueria. The tacos here are textbook; the tortillas have a just-right hint of toasty and smoky char while retaining the requisite pliancy. The meats are enticingly seasoned and tender, and provoke the salsa conundrum that is a sign of taco greatness: The salsa is so good that it begs to be used on the tacos, but the tacos are so juicy and flavorful that they require nothing more than the chopped cilantro and onion they’re served with." - Mark DeJoy

25 Iconic Dishes That Define Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We’re convinced this shrimp taco is the best way to spend $3 in this city, especially when $3 doesn’t get you much at all. Mariscos Jalisco assembles hundreds of these miniature symphonies per day: a crisp golden-brown shell plumped with shrimp, doused in a refreshing tomato-cabbage salsa, and topped with a little avocado hat. It’s the perfect balance of hot and cold, fried and fresh, and humble and decadent, all for the price of a kiwi at Erewhon." - garrett snyder, brant cox, cathy park, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders

A Delightful Mexican Escape with a Warm Vibe. Nestled charmingly with just four outdoor tables and a quaint indoor area, this spot strikes the perfect balance of casual comfort and intimacy. The outdoor space is ideal for basking in pleasant weather, while inside offers a cozy escape when the breeze turns brisk. It’s a genuinely inviting setting that feels both relaxed and personal. Guacamole: Creamy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned—this guacamole is a real highlight, packing just the right amount of zing. Tacos, Quesadillas & Burritos: Each comes thoughtfully prepared with quality fillings and robust Mexican flavors. The tacos are bursting with juicy components, the quesadillas are melty and satisfying, and the burritos are hearty and delicious. Bowls: A great lighter yet filling alternative—built with vibrant ingredients, they offer both comfort and balance in every bite. Breakfast: From savory items like huevos rancheros or breakfast burritos to more classic morning fare, the breakfast menu shines. Everything feels thoughtfully curated—impressive for a place also delivering full lunch and dinner menus. Combined with the reasonable pricing, this spot delivers both heart and value in equal measure. This is one of those rare finds where everything—from food quality and service to atmosphere and price—aligns seamlessly. Whether you’re settling in for a leisurely breakfast, grabbing tacos for a breezy afternoon patio lunch, or enjoying a tranquil indoor meal, it hits all the right notes. Enjoy!

I had the Shrimp Quesadilla. It was ok and I enjoyed it. However, I wasn’t happy with the atmosphere. One type of music was playing in the dining room and one in the kitchen. It was a strange type of noise pollution. I ate my food in the dining area, but left in a hurry.

This place is a hidden gem! Just had an amazing meal at Tacos el Lago! The service was excellent - super friendly staff who really take care of you. The tacos and burritos here are legit delicious, and they’ve got tons of vegetarian options which is awesome. But seriously, save room for dessert because their tres leches cake is TO DIE FOR. Like, ridiculously good. Great vibe too - casual but really nice atmosphere. This place has become my new favorite spot. Definitely recommend!

Google
Not seeing any reason for such good ratings here. Between the tiny and relatively bland tacos, stale chips (which you get charged for) and less than welcoming service (service with a chip on their shoulder), I’m not getting why this places rates well.

Love the outdoor dining experience on a summer day. The burrito was absolutely delicious and the hot sauce was actually spicy. I think it’s a little pricy but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Google
Best Mexican food in Seattle! The food is delicious and full of amazing flavors. Everything tasted so fresh. We loved it here and will be back.

Google
Love this spot! Prior to Seattle, we spent about a decade in California so we're no stranger to great burritos and tacos. I'll say this place comes pretty darn close to perfect, although it would be nice if the burritos were slightly larger! Lucky enough to live nearby, so will absolutely be back.

Google
Delicious! Counter service, also has an outdoor ordering window. A few tables inside and 3-4 picnic tables out front. Plenty of street parking. Our group had five separate dishes and all were thrilled with their food. Portions are perfect, chips and salsa also delicious. We will be back!

Yelp
Such a cute little place tucked on Stone way in Fremont I got an asada bowl and a horchata. The bowl was really good with a pretty decent portion for the price. The horchata was a little too vanilla for me but that could also be because we went late and it was the bottom of the jug. Not really much service since it was order at the counter and self bus but pretty worth! The shrimp tacos were really fire! Simple but well seasoned! 10/10 would go again for a quick bite!

Yelp
Order 3 tacos on a weeknight, it was surprisingly underwhelming. The only one that I would possibly recommend was the shrimp taco (which I believe was a limited time special). The house hot sauce was also surprisingly unflavorful, other than hot, there wasn't any additional flavors. The service was honestly very nice, a walk up to order restaurant and they were super friendly. The space was pretty decked out and well lit.

Yelp
Stopped in for tacos after a big climb day at the bouldering gym down the street, and this place hit just the spot. It's a small spot with just a few tables inside. Great family owned, casual vibe. Service was quick and tacos were reasonably priced. Definitely a convenient spot! I'd stop by again for a quick bite!

Yelp
I'm sorry! I wanted to love it. Take this with a grain of salt since I am vegetarian. Pros: food came quick and tasted very fresh. Not overly cheesy, greasy, etc. Cons: not great for vegetarians in my opinion. I liked that they had more than just a bean and cheese burrito, but the burrito had more lettuce than other fillings.

Trinity T.

Yelp
We got the chorizo breakfast burrito, 2 egg and cheese tacos and some homemade salsa verde and everything was delicious. The owner was super friendly and we enjoyed our whole experience here. Being from California I have a pretty high standard for Mexican food and this place hits the spot! We sat out front and had breakfast with our pup, and the owner threw in some dog treats for her to much on

Yelp
As a regular here, I can confidently recommend this place. I love the chicken bowl. Also, the shrimp taco is sublime. I think they sauté the shrimp in butter.

Lilly T.

Yelp
Always get the breakfast tacos. Simple but great. It's a cute space, and the owner is a gem.

Yelp
What a lovely place to grab tacos and sit outdoors or inside around Seattle. I really enjoyed how fast the food came, as well as the flavor and texture of the tacos especially the tortillas. Service was very friendly and the chicken was not dry which was great to see, I would come back.

Yelp
It was made pretty quick and fresh but ultimately I just wasn't down with the flavors. The Carne Asada seemed a bit dry and I'm not a big fan of the burrito actually being cooked on the flat top to kind of crisp up the tortilla and it was 15 bucks Kind of high for a burrito in my opinion but down in this part of town it's kind of par for the course

Yelp
I have been here twice since they opened. Great customer service and staff is so friendly! First time in, I got three tacos and my boyfriend got a birria burrito bowl. My tacos were pretty good but my boyfriend's burrito bowl was a small portion for the price. I would go back for the tacos. Today, I picked up two bacon breakfast burritos for my boyfriend and I and we were blown away by how small they were for $10 each (see picture.... more of a snack wrap)! Yes they were tasty, but don't think we'd come back for them. Overall, I would recommend the birria tacos and tacos in general, but could skip on the burrito bowls and breakfast burritos.

Yelp
The food here is nothing short of amazing! My friends and I have been here many times now and we all loved it. My absolute favorites are the breakfast tacos (delicious with or without the meat) and the mushroom & pepper veggie taco. They are very tasty and great portion for the price. The breakfast bowl and the other regular meat tacos are good too, just not top of my list. I never tried their breakfast burrito but heard good things about it. Most of my friends prefer their regular burritos tho bc they are much larger in size. The staff here are helpful and friendly. Glad we found this homey relaxing restaurant with great food!

Yelp
I'm genuinely astonished there are positive reviews here... every form of meat they have tastes like unseasoned ground beef... even the chew of it... from the steak, to the chicken, across the board. I'm not sure if people give this a good review because it's hard to find good Mexican food in Seattle... or if they genuinely compare their meals to hamburger helper (which sadly would have been better). They serve $4 street tacos... I came from reviews... as you probably are considering doing... and wholeheartedly, I can't fathom understanding where the positivity is coming from in any capacity. These Seattle Mexican restaurants need to snap back to reality with the cost/quality ratio, because this is just not it... even at half the cost, realistically. sadly a lack of quality Mexican restaurants to add competition around these places results in people thinking the food is good "for what's available around the area" and restaurants overcharging, taste testing, and saying... good enough, not like they can find this elsewhere. Hate to be so blunt, but that's the reality. The food is not a 4.9 star, or near it. Go to QFC, make it at home... this is a definite skip.

Yelp
Love their street tacos! Such great fresh ingredients and fast service- one of my favorite neighborhood spots :)

Yelp
Great, tasteful food, fast and wonderful service, and a wonderful lively ambiance! The Chorizo taco was only $8 for two of them, and it was a wonderful snack! Will be returning again.

Miles T.

Yelp
A good place for quick dine in or take out. Service is fast. The chorizo breakfast bowl hit the spot!

Faye W.

Yelp
Delicious food, lots of vegetarian options and everything came out quickly! So happy I discovered this little gem and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
One of the best chicken burritos I've ever had! The quesadillas and tacos were amazing too, especially with the habanero salsa. The people who work there are so sweet and it's such a cute little shop too. Could not recommend this place more!

Chip S.

Yelp
2nd time here and the food is delicious and customer service is great! El Pastor burrito was fantastic!

Yelp
This restaurant took the venue of a BBQ place, which we loved. The Latino decorating was really cozy and appealing, so we decided to try it. There were six of us and we ordered many different things. Everyone was very happy with their food. The taco dipping sauce and horchata were both remarkable.

Nicole M.

Yelp
While I will miss the tri tip sandwich from RoRo's, the owners have a gem of a little authentic Mexican spot with delicious street tacos, salsas, and black beans. I will definitely be back!

Cain P.

Yelp
Great food, I'm a regular. Great tacos and burritos every time and very lovely people. Small joint, highly recommend

Renee C.

Yelp
Delicious tacos- tried chicken and birria. Wanted more so we ordered a asada quesadilla. Everything was fresh- 5 stars for each dish! Can't wait to try other dishes on the menu!

Sue S.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are amazing! The food is super fresh and the tortillas are delicious. Great food and great service. Love this place!
