"If you're easily bored but surrounded by creatures of habit, Talat Market in Summerhill is going to be the all-in-one solution for you and your counterparts. With a focus on fresh produce (including in-house pressed coconut cream that's in everything from cocktails to soups), this colorful Thai restaurant constantly changes their street food section of the menu—and if the spicy garlicky de-shelled crab claws make a return, get them. But they also keep the popular mainstays. Know that you won’t find green curry soup as vibrant, spicy, and creamy anywhere else in Atlanta, nor a crispy rice salad as fresh. People start gathering in front of the restaurant before it opens, but once you’re in, kick back with friends or enjoy a relaxed date night highlighted by a spacious patio outdoors, and mini martinis." - nina reeder, jacinta howard, juli horsford
"Talat Market sits among the residential streets. This neighborhood spot with a Thai-focused, rotating menu is ideal for date nights or when we just feel like slurping down oysters with friends on a random Thursday night. The crispy rice salad is a must with a mix of flavors that combine for Christopher Nolan-level intensity for our taste buds. And if there’s a curry dish available, we'd say order two of them because fighting over the last bite is a bad look on your first date. And be sure to book a reservation since the dimly lit interior is usually bumping with people." - juli horsford, demarco williams
"The Summerhill restaurant offers several color-coded nonalcoholic beverages, namely the pink, purple, and green drinks. According to bartender Kharis Ellison, the pink drink, made with coconut cream, cinnamon syrup, and hibiscus, is sweet, creamy, and fizzy. For those who prefer less sweetness, the purple drink is a nod to Thai Nam dok Anchan, which is made with butterfly pea tea. The floral notes are cut with makrut lime cordial, which balances out this NA cocktail." - Laura Scholz
"Summerhill Thai restaurant Talat Market opened in spring 2020 inside an old neighborhood market on Ormond Street. Each week, chefs Parnass Lim Savang and Rod Lassiter create around a dozen or so Thai and Thai-influenced dishes for the menu, featuring soups, salads, relishes, curries, stir-fries, and desserts, along with a couple of larger entrees, like yum khao thawt (crispy rice salad) and whole fish preparations. Head here for happy hour specials, fresh oysters, off-menu dishes, and crushable cocktails, including the restaurant’s famous mini martini. Talat Market is Michelin-recommended and a James Beard finalist for 2024 Best Chef: Southeast. Best for: Dinner on the patio and happy hour." - Eater Staff
"Mini martinis and Murder Point oysters don’t scream “Thai restaurant,” but Summerhill’s Talat is a bit of a renegade. They change their menu more than Drake changes accents. One day you'll find love, licking spicy garlic sauce from crab claws, and the next day, it'll be gone. But you can always expect some form of green curry (maybe with white fish), larb, and papaya salad on the menu. And you can count on all the dishes being fantastic since the neighborhood restaurant puts a focus on fresh produce, including in-house pressed coconut cream that's in everything from cocktails to soups." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
