"At Taste Cheesesteak Bar, this tasty dish features oxtail that’s marinated in a Haitian blend called epis (which includes onions, scallions, garlic, parsley, bell peppers, and other spices), then layered with Philly-favorite Cooper Sharp cheese, and finally stuffed in a Liscio’s Bakery long roll that encapsulates its dynamic flavor." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff

"Opening a cheesesteak spot in a cheesesteak town is about as unnecessary as using a DVD rewinder. Especially if said cheesesteaks are totally fine, like they are at Taste in Center City. These sandwiches have the satisfying cheesy-mushy center of any decent cheesesteak you'll find at your neighborhood shop. The difference here is that you're going to have to wait far too long—we clocked 30 minutes for one cheesesteak—for what's ultimately a run-of-the-mill meal in Philly. So come if you’re a tourist who doesn’t know that Cleavers nearby has a larger menu with a shorter wait, or maybe to watch a game on one of Taste's big screens if everywhere else in the neighborhood is packed." - Candis R. McLean

Great Experience from start to finish..When I walked it the place was very well lite, great music (not too loud not too low), nice and clean…Lexi greeted us and answer our questions…When we sat she came right over and took our order and brought out water for us. There was a bit a wait due to a larger order being placed prior to us, however it was very considerate for Lakia to inform us. The Salmon Cheesesteak was DELICIOUS 😋..100 ⭐️’s. It was definitely TASTY!👅 ! I rated 4stars because we wanted to dine outside as it was a beautiful day and there where not enough tables for us to sit. The restroom was very clean and stocked and the decor was BREATHTAKING.

Great atmosphere, food was good and the service was wonderful. Took my sister and brother in law who were here from Atlanta and they enjoyed it as well. I will definitely go again.

This was my first time here, and this was so bomb! The atmosphere, the service, the food, the drinks... EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! We had the Oxtail cheesesteak and Salmon cheesesteak! We will be back! We also had the Hennything is Possible and the house Jolly rancher, both were on point! Taste is now my recommended place for cheesesteaks for sure!

This has been on my list to try ever since it opened, I ended up going on a Saturday night and it was packed! The restaurant itself is small too so it fills up quick. You order at a kiosk and it took over 35 minutes for us to get 2 cheesesteaks and an order of fries which seemed a bit long. The cheesesteak was tasty, although it was a little bit saltier than I’d prefer. I also asked for a seeded roll and got a regular one. Fries were nothing special, but crispy. I’m not sure if I would come back, maybe late at night. But the wait was too long and the atmosphere wasn’t my vibe.

My first time visiting Philly so I had to try the cheesesteak. This place was highly recommended by our City Big Bus tour driver. I ordered a traditional cheesesteak with onions, sweet peppers & pickles on a plain roll hun. It was good but a bit salty for me. The portion is huge so I could only eat half. Very juicy, the meat was very tender & the bum was very soft! Also tried the cheese fries & just didn’t like them. I’ll stick to regular seasoned fries! Great service & very nice atmosphere! Very clean & great music! Overall I enjoyed it & highly recommend! Lakia was my waitress & she was awesome! Very sweet, professional & engaging!! Beautiful smile😊

Honestly I'm about over cheesesteaks at this point. I've had too many in a short period of time. But this is the place they chose to meet up. It was busy and almost didn't get a table waiting for them to show up, but we were able to grab a seat inside. They have outdoor seating which most people were making use of. The vibe is more of a club than a sit down restaurant. The music and the bar kept things fun. He ordered the Hennessy cocktail, which looked good, but I didn't partake this trip. The food was really good though. They both had the salmon cheesestake and I was the bougie one and ordered the oxtails. My oxtail was good, but almost too rich and greasy. The cheese was the dominate flavor which was disappointing. I really like oxtails to the point I developed my own recipe after not being able to find a good version where I lived. They both enjoyed their salmon cheesestakes, and no one finished theirs. I did the best eating half, but these were huge and stuffed with meat. We ordered fries for the table that came out hot and crispy. My cheesesteak actually turned out better the next day? I don't know, maybe it gave the bread time to absorb the oxtail flavors. The let down was mostly the service, which to her credit wasn't really the server's fault. She was the only server and I never saw her stop moving. She probably needed some help, it was a tough task handling both inside and outside patrons. As such when it came to pay, she forgot about us. We waited a good 20min and multiple reminders but she would turn around and be off to seat someone else or run food to the tables. Nothing more annoying than waiting to pay to leave.

Bling evening, I stopped by after a evening notary signing. Parking is scarce. Security and staff were nice. I was handed a menu and was told I could order on the kiosk. I instantly noticed that the prices were different. The website say $14, but the menu says $16. I have been hearing about this oxtail cheesesteak, but they were unfortunately sold out. I purchased the chicken cheesesteak. My wait to me was typical, besides the Dj kept me entertained. I see how you got the name TASTE. The chicken was the BEST FLAVORED I HAVE EVER TASTED. I purposely did not use the ketchup up packets right away so I could intentionally taste the chicken cheesesteak. Even though I like my ketchup on my steak so it will blend well and be hot like the rest of my steak, I must admit the ketchup packets was just enough. Keep in mind I am a foodie. The only two disappointments for me was that it was too much pepper on the second half of my sandwich, and the lack of meat on the second half. For a $17 chicken cheesesteak fill my steak from beginning to end. The roll was very soft. I will be back to try the salmon cheesesteak though. Until we meet again ✍🏾
