The Best Affordable Restaurants in Alabama

"I appreciated Chef/owner Chris Rainosek's long-standing commitment to nearby farms and ethical, organic practices, which underpin everything here and pair well with a warm, welcoming ambience of brick walls, wood tables and metal chairs. I recommend starting with a cocktail and sampling the well-edited, ever-changing menu—highlights might include grilled peaches with ricotta and dukkah or a bowl of Marsh Hen Mills grits topped with Gulf shrimp, sautéed spring squash and blue crabmeat—and finishing with desserts like a baked meringue with peach custard that are as noteworthy as the savory dishes." - The MICHELIN Guide

The Best Road Trip-Worthy Restaurants Outside New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Perched just outside the heart of downtown Mobile, this upscale Dauphin Street spot brings a modern, ingredient-obsessed spin to Southern cooking, all served up in a laid-back space with brick walls and just the right amount of reclaimed wood. Chef Chris Rainosek changes the menu frequently to reflect the season’s best produce, but standouts might include an heirloom tomato salad with a benne seed tahini, deviled eggs topped with roe, and Gulf shrimp and grits made with ultra-creamy Marsh Hen Mills grits. Weekend brunch is a big deal here (try the fried oyster Benedict), and the dinner crowd keeps the bar buzzing with craft cocktails and a solid bourbon list." - Sarah Bisacca

Best Restaurants in Mobile, Alabama | Eater Atlanta

"This upscale Dauphin Street restaurant highlights the bounty of local farmers, fishermen, and ranchers in its Southern fare with an international twist. Think chicken liver mousse with apple cider gelee, gulf yellowtail snapper sprinkled with vibrant crowder pea gremolata, and a peach semifreddo served atop a brown butter-pecan cookie. Chef Chris Rainosek’s cuisine may skew modern but his restaurant’s interiors maintain a cozy, old-school feel with exposed brick walls, double-height ceilings, and large picture windows overlooking one of Mobile’s main thoroughfares." - Sarah Bisacca

1/8/2025-Stopped in for lunch and had an incredible experience. The short rib sandwich was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor on thick, buttery, perfectly toasted bread. Every layer felt intentional—from the rich, fall-apart meat to the greens, mushrooms, and truffle aioli—this wasn’t just a sandwich, it was a full-bodied commitment. The collard greens were seasoned beautifully—rich, soulful, and absolutely worth dipping the sandwich into the pot liquor. I also ordered the deviled eggs with bacon (minus roe), and they were fantastic—creamy, well-balanced, and elevated by those crispy bacon bits. I sat at the bar and received excellent service—warm, attentive, and professional. Real silverware and a cloth napkin at the bar may seem small, but it speaks to the level of care and intentionality here. The space was a little cool, but the food and service more than made up for it. A thoughtful, delicious experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back.

Stopped by here for lunch. I’ll start off by saying that I would give it a 4.5 but can’t do halves. The service was good and attentive. The dining area is nice but needs a little attention as some of the ceiling tiles are loose with open gaps in the ceiling. Small detail but this is an upscale place. I ordered the catfish with potatoes and greens. The sides were great and the catfish was good but looked to be a little overcooked and dark. The dish came with two dipping sauces which both elevated the experience. One of the sauces was mustard based and amazing. Overall good food at a fair price for lunch. I have not tried dinner yet.

Google
From the apps to the dessert, this place doesn’t disappoint. Fantastic flavors, amazing service, and great atmosphere! We were passing through and found this gem, but it’s worth a trip all by itself. Definitely a must! Make sure to save room for a dessert!

Google
Made a day trip from Panama City to eat here on Sunday the 27th. It was well worth the drive! Aubrey our server was amazing! The food was wonderful we had two appetizers 3 entrees and 2 desserts and wow! Absolutely amazing! Keep it up! Can’t wait to return for more.

Google
I had the pleasure of having lunch at The Noble South in Mobile, Alabama, with a few of my colleagues, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is charming—stylish yet comfortable—and perfect for a midday break or a casual business lunch. I ordered the blackened catfish, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. It came with a crisp kale salad and some delicious fried potatoes—simple sides done exceptionally well. Portion sizes were satisfying without being overwhelming. The service was warm and attentive, and our meals came out in great time, even though the restaurant was nicely busy. It’s always a treat to find a place that delivers both quality food and a great vibe. We left feeling happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Experience! We had an amazing dinner at The Noble South in Mobile. Our server, Trent, made the entire evening exceptional for me, my husband, and our five-year-old daughter. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful — he even brought something for our daughter to draw with, which made her night and allowed us to enjoy a relaxed meal. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and Trent’s service truly elevated the whole experience. We felt genuinely cared for from start to finish. Highly recommend The Noble South — and if you can, ask for Trent! 💛

Alan W.

Google
Ordered all 6 dinner dishes they had and every one of them was delicious. Everything was unique compared to other restaurants. Each dish has at least 4 flavors going on, all complimenting each other. I'd say the best was either the duck or the shrimp and grits. But the short ribs was a top notch piece of meat cooked just right. And the peaches and cream dessert was awesome.

Google
Fantastic Dinner, Great Cocktails & Incredible Service We had a great dinner at The Noble South in Mobile, and I want to call out how exceptional our server, Trent, was. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful the entire evening. He even brought something for our five-year-old daughter to draw with, which not only made her night but also let my wife and me enjoy a relaxed, unrushed meal — a rare win when traveling as a family. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were excellent, and the whole atmosphere felt inviting and relaxed. Trent’s service really put the experience over the top. We felt taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend The Noble South — and if you can, definitely ask for Trent. 👍

Yelp
The food wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Medium to good. My favorite is the pesto chicken with rice. The ambiance is very nice. I like the lighting The service is excellent. The waiters are always on call
google avatar

Holly H.

Yelp
The service was terrific! We had Zach. The food was wonderful except the casserole.. it was SO salty my dad who LOVES salty food couldn't handle how salty the casserole was.I'm not sure if it's like that.Every time but it was like that for us. Its a very small dining room and loud so if your going for a meeting or work lunch. I would recommend some place else. Over all. I would go back. The dining room is very open and beautiful. Just keep your party to 4 or less. Also, look at the plates. I loved that homie feel they gave super cute.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was excellent. The black catfish was amazing. The brussels sprouts was my second favorite. Sweet potato soup and cucumbers were good and cornbread was phenomenal
google avatar

Yelp
You have outdone yourself, Noble South! From farm to table, from table to mouth, Now that I've had it, I don't wanna live without. I had the pesto chicken with beets on the side, The bartender, Zac, was a perfect food and beverage guide. With Natalie and Jess serving up delicious plates on the fly. This experience had my body, thankful to be alive. Oh and the ambiance was a total vibe.

Yelp
A friend found this place when we were visiting Mobile and it was great. We tried the cheddar cheese straws ($8), which were super unique. I'm not sure if I would try these again, but I enjoyed the creativity and how it paired with a blueberry dipping sauce. For an entree, I tried the Bouillabaise ($31), which had fresh seafood that paired well with the grits. I would definitely come here again if I was ever in the area!

Yelp
I'm from out of town, but I've been here twice now because the first time was so excellent. Located in downtown Mobile, this cozy restaurant boasts inspired and creative dishes made with local and seasonal ingredients. The chefs here really understand flavor profiles. We had knockout dish after knockout dish. The chicken parmesan sausage dish has hands down been one of my top 5 memorable meals this entire year. I found myself thinking about that dish days after. Oh and the desserts--oh my. Now I'm a sucker for cookies, and the brown butter pecan cookie with the peach semifreddo was so good I had to go complement the chef. And he was so thankful, I was gifted another cookie! I couldn't believe it (but literally felt like a kid in the candy -- or cookie -- store.). This restaurant has been consistently spot on! I love it. Shout out to my server Sara who was phenomenal! Service is always important to me, and she went above and beyond for us!

Yelp
I got recommended this place and it's on the Michelin guide so I was hopeful sadly very let down. I admit I can be harsh since I used to be a Chef at another Michelin restaurant but this restaurant had the right idea but poorly executed. We had dinner there and ordered two steaks both of which were cold and extremely raw. I know wagyu isn't supposed to be cooked too much and I do like rare steak but this was not enjoyable.... We asked if we could get them heated more and they did it but when we got them back they were barely better. The texture was awful super gummy and it was drenched in this demiglaze that overpowered it. If the wagyu was really that good it shouldn't need that much steak sauce. It tasted like how cows smell. The duck fat potatoes were the best. The chicken liver mousse was good and the cavatelli and squash are alright but everything needed to be hotter temperature wise. Overall really disappointed. I didn't even want to get dessert because I was scared to be let down again after the meal. The service was really great though the waiters are super sweet and even took one of the steaks off which we really appreciated. The interior of the restaurant also needs some work. Has great bones but not using it to its full potential. Would i recommend probably not but mobile really doesn't have great food to begin with so it stinks all over.

Yelp
This place is kinda hidden. The service was top notch! I was really looking hard at the motley crew in the kitchen, as I was sure Gordon Ramsey had to be among them! The food was that delicious! The decor is very complimentary to the old building it's in. The whole experience was amazing! Definitely going to head back here on our next trip through! Fresh! Clean! Delish!

Yelp
Quaint small restaurant in downtown Mobile. Excellent for lunch, a quiet meeting place. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile. They have some unique cocktails available - the staff recommend one for my wife which she enjoyed. We shared an order of pickled shrimp which were nicely seasoned and served with crackers. I had a seafood sausage sandwich which had an aioli to die for and a cup of creamy cauliflower soup. My wife had a short rib sandwich with truffle aioli which she thoroughly enjoyed. This restaurant was featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and it lived up to the billing. Definitely a place to try if you're driving by Mobile!!
google avatar

Corry G.

Yelp
Was downtown for a meeting and we made lunch reservations here for six people. Place was busy, but we were sat immediately. Service was excellent. I got the catfish, cornbread, and fried potatoes. Everything was delicious. Only thing left on my plate was the lemon wedge that came with the fish. Contemplated eating that because everything else was so good. $15 for catfish and two sides. You would expect to pay much more at an upscale restaurant. This is one of the best values in town. I wouldn't say it is a hidden gem because the place stayed full while we were there, but it is so good there should be a line out the door.

Yelp
It's not often I am surprised by food. The breakfast casserole was an unexpected delight. The fresh tomato consume was not something I would have anticipated liking, but it added an uplifting complexity and brightness to the dish. Also sunchokes! Incredibly good as were the deviled eggs. 10/10

Yelp
You can't go wrong with The Noble South. I went with a group recently while attending a conference in Mobile, and everything was amazing. We tried a little bit of everything. My favorites were the braised cabbage salad and the rainbow trout. The little pieces of fried potatoes in the cabbage salad were so freaking good. The servings are huge, by the way. We also got the deviled eggs that were topped with roe and crispy bacon bits--YUM. Plus, the chicken service is always impeccable, and the space is beautiful.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Saturday. Arrives at 12:20, Montalto. Lovely service. My husband and son each got the double cheeseburger with fries. I got the shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious. I WILL eat there again, hope for dinner to try some different things but lunch was phenomenal.

Yelp
We come every year during Mardi Gras! We love Randy at the Sidecar! He is a great server and bartender! Food is always delicious and just as great drinks! One of the best spots in Mobile!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot in downtown Mobile, at the heart of Dauphin St and Bianville Sq. Original creations with a very tasty decor and good trendy vibe. Definitely worth the visit. Great that it's open for lunch on Saturdays. Excellent food.

Yelp
Loved coming here for lunch! High quality food prepared excellent. Brussels were my favorite, and I love the simple yet elegant southern atmosphere (especially as an out of towner from Philly)

Yelp
3rd time back here. Order vegan this time. Pasta. Lots of mushrooms. Nicely made pasta sauce I ordered a salad for Peg. Looks great. Highly recommend Nobel South. The staff is outstanding. You can't go wrong here. Besides, they stock my favorite rum. :-)
google avatar

Yelp
So disappointed and here is why. I have come here for years for the shrimp and grits. Best I have ever had and what put this place on the map. Look at the Yelp reviews and pictures. But I come tonight to learn that the owner wanted to change things up. No more shrimp and grits. Are you kidding?? They took it off the menu. The one item that brings people from all over to try. I told the waitress this would be my swan song dinner here. Imagine going to McDonald's and they say the no longer serve the Big Mac. Goodbye Nobel South. As much as I loved that one dish the rest on the menu are just ok at best.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Mobile, hands down. The culinary sophistication, flavors and attention to detail are bar to none. Great wine list as well, including a heady mix of trendy natural and orange wines. We sampled all the small plates, which were all uniquely delicious in their own way. Stand outs include: the beef tartare with popcorn (surprising and exciting!); scallops with crab meat; blue cheese mousse with pepper jelly. I had the shrimp and grits for my main, and it was probably the best I've ever had. Pair it with a great wine list, and it was a stunning meal overall.

Aldric K.

Yelp
Wow! I am so impressed with this place. Very upscale ambiance, much needed here in Mobile. Perfect for downtown. Its a gem. I came in and had lunch which was amazing and another day came in for dinner which was even greater. I am gluten-free and they had a gluten-free banana moonpie on the menu. I hadnt had moonpies in 10 years. When I tell you that moonpie was SO FREAKING AMAZING!! I had to stop myself from ordering 10 more. They have some great chefs in that kitchen and the owner runs this place outstandingly. The only downside is the menu changes so often that the website is typically incorrect but hey seeing a GF Moonpie on the menu was the highlight of my year so far!

Yelp
Went for brunch. Table of five. Service was great along with every dish we ordered. Hamburger, steak frites, shrimp and grits, deviled eggs and breakfast casserole were all perfection!

Yelp
We had an 11:00 am reservation for lunch on 02/16/24. We did not receive a friendly/welcoming greeting by the hostess. For a snack appetizer we ordered the Deviled Eggs. We have had better. They are mayo dominant to say the least. Moving on to the entrees. My wife ordered the fried catfish with mac & cheese and cornbread. She would have liked her catfish to have been seasoned better. She was impressed with the mac and cheese as it did not need any additional seasoning. She usually has to add salt/pepper to her mac and cheese when we eat out. She did not care for the heirloom cornbread. I ordered the beef tips and rice with 3 sides. My sides were the cauliflower bisque, glazed carrots, and heirloom cornbread. The beef tips and rice were very good. I would describe it as being more of a beef stew than a traditional beef tips and rice. The cauliflower bisque was excellent. However, this is where they dropped the ball. I asked our server who I believe was Micah R. based on our receipt did it have shellfish in it. She said she would check. She did not think it did. She never followed up to confirm. This is a major training issue. Food allergies are a real thing. A restaurant should now how their dishes are made and be able to communicate it immediately. I liked the heirloom cornbread. I ate the rest of my wife's. She ate the rest of my cauliflower bisque as I did not want to have an ER visit. The glazed carrots were good. The ambiance was nice.

Yelp
The best, don't even think about anywhere else, yelp reviews never lie food amazing, always changing...small place simple menu, which is always a winner, nobody can be great at large menu...

Yelp
A little gem it seems to me as an outsider to the downtown Mobile food scene. Super cool interior, very friendly and helpful staff, great menu, LOVED the Southern style bouillabaisse and even discovered a Portuguese wine which is made from rare Rabigato grapes. A must visit!

Amy C.

Yelp
This isn't it. The upscale dishes just miss the mark and the waitstaff is stuck up. Save your money and go somewhere else. Beautiful building and ambiance, too bad.

Harrison A.

Yelp
I write this in hopes that this restaurant can get to its full potential. Pros: the cabbage appetizer and farm cheese salad were incredibly tasty. They hit numerous notes for me and very much enjoyed them. Cons: the service/time between courses, the chicken sausage parm, the NY Strip steak, tres leches cake, and peach semifreddo. Service: 30 minutes waiting before our entree's came after the apps to which we never got a single update along the way. All we got was a "sorry about that" when the food came. The restaurant was 30% full. Our waters were refilled once and sat empty for 15 minutes. NY Strip: not sure why you all removed the short rib from this entree and replaced it with the strip steak. The cut you all use is so thick and being that they have little to no fat content it renders it to be super tough. This was also very expensive here. For the price, I'd expect a lot more. Chicken Sausage Parm: a rather dry dish all around. The sausage and the fried eggplant just didn't mesh well and felt like two different dishes thrown together. Tres Leches: super gritty and didn't taste like a tres leches at all. Absolutely no flavor. Semifreddo: was just not appetizing. There was no peach taste either in the semi-freddo nor fresh peaches. We never leave a dessert uneaten and we couldn't do more than a taste of both. Conclusion: I firmly believe that this restaurant can make the right adjustments to nail down a complete menu and be a very solid establishment through and through.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Got smash burger and crispy potatoes. The restaurant had lots of natural light and unique venue.

Yelp
Very clean Old historical building Beautifully deco ambience Beautifully arranged fresh flowers Thanks chef for great innovation Your spicy lemon drop sauce was amazing addition to the pasta

Yelp
Loved this meal, and the uniqueness of all the flavors of the menu items we tasted. There is quite a bit of pickling and fermentation used, which created a lot of interesting flavors that surprises the palette. Deviled eggs was a nice starter and the tobiko on top was a nice touch. Nothing epic, but delicious. The pickled shrimp reminded me of a ceviche, but with more tanginess, as it sits in the brine overnight. The brussel sprouts were made with their version of kimchi and so flavorful. The wings were sweet, spicy and fall off the bone. Also, these were definitely fresh from an organic farm, definitely no hormones in these things. The pork loin and porks cheeks were delicious and melt in your mouth. I'm not a huge dessert fan, but the banana cream pie was just the right of amount of sweet to end the meal.

Minty M.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in downtown Mobile. We were there visiting relatives and we actually ate here twice. Best catfish I've ever had. Good size helpings, reasonably priced. Excellent collard greens too.

Yelp
We have made a point to bring out-of-town guests here and it never fails to impress. They have the most creative and inspiring menu to rival anything you'd find in Atlanta or New Orleans. Their offerings are ever changing with what's available and in season. Last night our ten top shared snacks and small plates from their current menu of their deviled eggs, pickled shrimp, and chicken liver mousse, scallops, feta stuffed squash blossom, and red snapper crudo, and some magical voodoo concoction of speckled butter beans in prosciutto broth with oyster root (salsify) and whatever secret conjuring was applied to make it so delish with so many layers of flavor depth to even describe. Who would guess I'd be here raving about butter beans! The crudo was particularly tasty as well, the flavor from the poblano and cukes distinctively recognizable but melds together so nicely to compliment the snapper. Truly lovely. The scallops and the squash blossom was notable also, both absolutely delectable. Entrees for the table consisted of flank steak, the radiatore pasta, more scallops, and their chicken sausage with eggplant. The flank steaks served with an array of sautéed veg were nice; there will always be those in a group who opt for the familiar and doing the flank on the menu hits the "steak" mark while also being different. Flank can be tough if not done properly and these were perfectly seasoned and cooked to preferred temps while being tender and moist. Two in our party had the radiatore with alligator bolognese, and I'm sad to say here that neither of them were amazed; both said it was good overall but flavors in the sauce were muted and the meat was lost. They both felt it would have been better with a bolder sauce and larger bites of meat. The star of the table (besides the butter beans) was the chicken sausage. Served as a tournedo style slice with flavor reminiscent of a good Sicilian style sausage, it was punchy with seasoning and enhanced by the vibrant tomato sauce which also went beautifully with the eggplants. It was packed with flavor, deliciously juicy, and everyone at the table sampled it and raved. We were a big group, perhaps a bit too loud, but our guests had a memorable experience from the atmosphere, to the food, to the very accommodating staff that put up with us with friendly hospitality and professionalism. All boxes checked! The Noble South is a true gem for our city.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the crab salad. The service was exceptional and the ambience itself is really cute. I recommend making a reservations it's not required, but this place gets really busy.
google avatar

Anna N.

Yelp
It's been a minute since we visited the Noble South, but the past two times that I was there it was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our creative entrées and definitely will be back.

Christina R.

Yelp
This place was awful. Our waiter seemed to be annoyed at our questions and was kind of rude to us. The food was so gross. It wasn't a matter of style or preference it was genuinely not good tasting food. Will not return.

Tori Lee A.

Yelp
This has been my favorite downtown Mobile restaurant for years - every single time I visit I make plans to dine here. I've never been disappointed...until now. The food was fine, but the combinations of flavors were one step beyond bizarre rather than the usual blend of comfortable and experimental that I'm used to with The Noble South. Maybe this was just a menu that didn't fit into our tastes, or maybe it was an off night...but for the first time I left feeling like we had wasted a dining experience and a lot of money. I will unfortunately have to think twice about dining here next time I'm in Mobile. I think it may delight some foodies, but it was not for me this time around.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
The food here was superb! Appetizers were the following: Deviled Eggs, Pickled Shrimp. Entrée was Shrimp & Grits. I also enjoyed two cocktails, which I would recommend, but I forgot to snap photos of them. The cocktails were the Strawberry Julep, and Freshener* (could have the name wrong).

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night while in town for a work conference. We didn't have a reservation but we put our name in and we're seated in about an hour. Service was great, cute little farm to table style restaurant. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and crab salad for appetizers, both were really good. All 3 of us ordered the yellowfin tuna dish, which was a big seared tuna steak along with spoonbread and a green tomato chutney. While I think the flavor combination of those items was a little odd, it still tasted good. For dessert we ordered the pecan tart which was delicious, not sickly sweet and the chocolate ganache was an added layer of flavor. We also got the banana pudding. I was disappointed in this. I expected a classic southern style banana pudding but it was an ice cream with an artificially flavored banana taste. We accidentally stayed past closing but the staff didn't even try to hint, which we felt bad about. Overall great experience and it seems like their dishes rotate frequently!

Yelp
Not impressed at all, tried several dishes and very disappointed. Do not waste your time at this restaurant, main dish mushroom & also heard table next to me complaining about their plate. Not great food.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Mobile! The food is incredibly delicious - all the produce is extremely fresh and they support local farmers. Literally could not love this restaurant any more.

Yelp
Arrived early before our reservations and were seated immediately. Delicious food and great service. Close on the street parking was no problem.

Yelp
This was a tough one to give four stars to because the service and food were both off the chain amazing! The knock of the star was due to the atmosphere/comfort. The atmosphere is BRIGHT. I'm talking fluorescent white light, bright. This is great for during the day, but in the evening, it just felt really cold. The chairs are very uncomfortable for those of us with um...healthy...rear ends. For women with any kind of hips, you can't sit all the way back in the chair. If not for the lighting, the design of the restaurant is really quite beautiful. Onto the food... Literally, everything we ate was amazingly delicious. Chicken liver mouse with a citrus gelee with sourdough bread. YUM!!! Seared scallops. Cooked perfectly!!! Tuna. THIS WAS PERFECT!!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it came with a wonderfully unique Carolina gold rice with what tasted like cilantro. Sous Vide Short Ribs. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend. Blueberry cobbler. Finished the meal off just right! I would absolutely go back to Noble South for the amazing food and service. But I wouldn't choose if I were looking for a romantic evening.

Yelp
My first time at Noble South for lunch did not disappoint! Loved their Deviled eggs, fried okra, pan fried corn & meatloaf! Corn bread was okay at best but we'll be back! Service was fabulous and it's just the cutest little place.

Yelp
Love love love it. I visited Mobile for a work trip and im glad i stopped by. I came close to closing, sat at the bar and ordered the peach cobbler. A few minutes later a chef, Josh, came out and informed me they were out & offered me an alternative. I respectfully declined but he respectfully insisted that he would personally make me a Pecan Tart, on the house. I truly believe Josh made that tart with all of Gods love and blessings. It was amazing.

Yelp
Wow! This place was absolutely incredibly from start to finish. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was delicious but a huge portion so I took it to go. We will definitely revisit.

Yelp
The Bottom Line: The Noble South offers fine southern dining without the stiff white tablecloth treatment. In the middle of a Gulf Coast swing, I was looking for a dining experience to cap off my stay in Mobile- however I wanted something more laid back than some of the higher end options nearby. Enter The Noble South. The Dauphin Street establishment was already packed when I walked in, I thought perhaps it wasn't gonna be my night but the host manage to advise me that the bar was going to open up and I snagged a seat. The service there was friendly and the food was a delicious assortment of modern Southern fare. It sounds like the menu rotates often, on my visit I had the Waygu Meatballs: big on beefy flavor spiced really well. For my entree I got a little adventurous with the Rabbit. It was a really harty dish and the oyster mushrooms really added some texture to the stewed rabbit (which was kind of like a pork/beef profile.) I compared notes with some fellow diners at the bar, the neighbor next to me raved about the shrimp and grits. The Noble South maybe modest in the dress code, they are certain high end with their dishes.

Yelp
Appetizers--fancy descriptions but tasty; entrees--fancy descriptions of currently popular food presented very nicely and tasty; dessert---again fancy descriptions but subpar in taste and quality ----located downtown in the shotgun spaces there is not a lot of room to dine inside so demand is at a premium---they will sit you outside which is where we sat and while not perfect, as long as weather is nice you will have a positive dining experience which is what I will rate ours. As for the particulars of our table we had 2 appetizers which 2 I currently forget, the entrees included the fish, pork belly and the waygu infused entree and the desserts were forgettable. Still, I would return.
