The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai - Mumbai - The Infatuation

"For the last 14 years, Mumbaiites have packed The Table’s chevron-floored, two-level dining room for its relaxed elegance, big flavors, and fresh, unfussy approach to food. It’s hard to define their cuisine, but it’s driven by two things: seasonal ingredients and the chef’s will. Every new dish is so imaginative and delightful, we make sure not one goes untasted. Don’t miss the radicchio and guava salad that gets crunch from pistachios, and funk from local Belper Knolle. Some dishes are outright audacious, like the vol au vents filled with lamb brain and morels, spiked with green chilli butter. As tempting as the smaller plates are, their excellent pastas—like the lamb pappardelle and fettuccine al limone that we crave endlessly—are creative classics that are necessary for rounding off your date night or big-deal dinner." - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India | Eater

"The Table was years ahead of its time when it opened in Mumbai, introducing terms like “farm-to-table” and “cuisine agnostic” to a city that had never heard them before. Since the restaurant opened, the fine dining culture in the city has advanced by leaps and bounds. Owned by Gauri Devidayal and Jay Yousuf, the Table still has it. Standouts on the menu include the yellowfin tuna tataki, boneless chicken wings, and blackened Norwegian salmon." - Sumedh Natu

"A long-running, globally-inspired farm-to-table restaurant sourcing much produce from its own Table Farm in Alibaug and fresh proteins locally, known for shareable plates like ginger-glazed boneless chicken wings, Sobo Salad with Hass avocado and lamb ragout with pappardelle, served in a casual fine-dining setting near the Taj Mahal Palace." - ByArundhati Ail

Heard really great recommendations about this place and thought of going there. This place is usually booked so a reservation is a must. My overall experience was that I absolutely loved the food. I had an idea that its sea food is a must try but quite a lot of dishes were not available giving limited options. Our starters were good but our main dish was very similar to what we had in our starters so we felt really full despite the dish being really good. It would have been better to get a recommendation from the server as to which dish would be ideal for our meal. Overall great experience.

There are plenty of 5-star reviews about The Table raving about its food—and it deserves each one. The food is exceptional. However, the service was 10-star. Some context: I am (un)fortunate to belong to a family of hoteliers, which makes dining with them anywhere an Olympic sport. They are quite critical of poor, or even mediocre, service, and it is a pain to hear long stories about how "I have spent 40 years in the hotel industry..." each time some minor thing doesn't meet their standards. Therefore, when I say the service was so good that my very exacting family were bowled over by the attention, the service, the speed, the efficiency, and all the other adjectives one can attach to great hospitality service. The Table restaurant manager and his crew were exception. Warm, welcoming to begin with. Considerate of our dietary restrictions. Made appropriate recommendations so that we could have an excellent experience. It was the whole bag. Suffice to say, you'll always be guaranteed good food at a top notch restaurant. But great service like this is unique to The Table.

Been wanting to go here since a while. Nice chill place in colaba. The food is top class, drinks are even better. And the staff is super helpful and sweet. The crab rockfeller and the salmon tostada were my favorites. The avocado crostino was fresh and tasty, but the focaccia de recco had a pungent cheese smell that I just couldn't handle. My friends liked it though. We asked for a chocolate based dessert and they didn't disappoint, I forgot the name but it tasted as good as it looked. For drinks just tell them what kind of flavours you enjoy and they'll do their best to get you something fun.

It was a really good place but I got a cramped up table which was a bit turnoff. The food was really good

Good but not legendary. several reminders had to be given to clear plates, cutlery etc. this is forgiveable for mid category restaurants but not at these prices. poached pear dessert was fab. Airconditioning was poor. Felt stuffy throughout the meal.

We absolutely love The Table. It's without doubt the best food we've eaten in Bombay. Haven't been back in awhile. After having kids, we questioned if they were really a child friendly menu. Anyways, happy to report, my 2 year old loved the food. We did find ourselves stuck when picking a dessert for her though. Everything on the dessert menu has either a little bit of alcohol, or coffee, or both. But she did enjoy the toasted coconut sorbet (which they gave us without the salted caramel drizzle, since that has alcohol in it) Service is always courteous and attentive. While the space has its charm, it is starting to show signs of age. And now that we've established that their food excites our child, we'll be back to visiting frequently.
