Giada De Laurentiis’s Favorite Restaurants In Los Angeles

"“Pasta with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes,” says Giada of her go-to order at Toscana, a Brentwood (and Hollywood power player) staple for more than 30 years. She also calls it the LA restaurant pasta closest in taste and execution to what you’ll find in the kitchens of Italy." - brennan carley

The Brentwood Italian Restaurant Power Rankings

"Not to be confused with Bar Toscana (the bar next door that has some menu overlap), Toscana has been a polarizing member of the Brentwood community for 30-plus years. Nearly every Brentwood, Palisades, Santa Monica, and Westwood resident over the age of 40 has been here at least once. This means everyone has an opinion, too. The service is still not great, but hey, at least Toscana is consistent with that. The food, however, ranges from good to pretty whatever. The gnocchi itself is tasty but tainted by overly thick pesto, tagliatelle bolognese is just fine, and the flaky branzino filet is severely deprived of salt. Toscana is also notoriously expensive (even for Brentwood standards) and full of suited execs with slicked-back hair and semi-retired dads wearing so much cologne you can taste it in the air. Maybe save this one for a business meal on the company card. " - sylvio martins, arden shore, brant cox

Jake Shane's Westside Restaurant Advice

"This is my favorite LA institution. We usually get a burrata and then I get the shrimp and white beans. I get angel hair, but you have to ask for it aglio e olio…it's not on the menu. If you ask very politely, they'll do it—you have to be comfortable taking a risk. If it's a good Italian restaurant in LA, they'll do that. Toscana also has the best truffle pizza in Los Angeles. You must go to Toscana and get it. Seriously, it is divine." - brennan carley

I’ve been at this restaurant a couple of time and it’s always a great and consistent experience. The place can get a bit loud inside. They did have some outdoor tables before, which was so nice! Sad that they can’t have them anymore. At the table when starting you get a fresh bowl of some raw vegetables to enjoy with a balsamic vinaigrette. But, one amazing thing at this restaurant is that they bring you complimentary freshly made bread (like soft pizza crust) with olive oil and herbs on it. It may sound like a small detail, but not a lot of places anymore will give you that for no charge (especially higher end places) and most importantly, it is delicious! They have a lot of different options in the menu, but I’ve always got pasta here. The burrata is great as a nice fresh appetizer. The pasta are really good. The Al Funghi ones are always a good option. I sometimes get ones with white sauce and shrimps. It is a great authentic italian restaurant to try. They do have a bar on the other side with a shorter food menu options - but also a great place to check out.

Google
Valet service: not helpful not friendly-my husband is disabled and had much difficulty getting out of the car onto slanted sidewalk and high curb-valet offered no suggestions to make it easier. The fee was $12 @lunchtime. Our food(seafood special )was excellent, however they only have wine and beer @lunch and were out of the lager I wanted. There was no other lager on menu, in fact very limited beer selection. The servers were friendly and helpful. We won’t return for lunch.

We’ve been going to Toscana for over 20 years. Toscana has a very special place in our hearts. My wife’s birthday was last week and she wanted to go to Toscana to celebrate her birthday as always. It’s exceptionally consistent service, food, and atmosphere one of my all-time favorite places to go!

Google
Went there on Thursday with reservations made, so no wait. There were some parking spots on Darlington avenue next to it, so it’s good. The pizza and pasta were good as well as seafood and beef. The best items are the desserts, esp the tiramisu and the different pies- they could mix them into one plate and charge a much lower price. The vibe is chilled and the staff are very friendly. A bit chilly to sit outside even in July but heater will be provided. A great option for date night or business dinner.

Very disappointed at the service we received in this restaurant. We were there with another couple as soon as we were done with dinner the manager approached us that he needs our table to set up for a larger party even though they still had empty tables. I had made reservation days in advance. Manager’s approach was very rude and unprofessional. Worst service we have ever experienced in Los Angeles.

Google
Amazing 🇮🇹 cuisine with a friendly staff Who are quick with a good wine pairing or recommend a special. With an open kitchen where you can watch them make your pizza flip the dough or check out their homemade pastas you'll enjoy the show. Seems to be good for small to mid-size parties with easy valet parking. Definitely recommend giving in a shot whether it be lunch or dinner 👍🏼👍🏼

Google
The service is very good. Food ok. Nothing unforgettable. Atmosphere is too loud. Its a big space. No outdoor sitting. So tables are very close and the noise is too much. Hard to here each other. Not too big place. Great for stopping by but there's better italian food not too far

Google
My friend and had an early dinner at Toscana a couple of days ago. First time at this restaurant, and it will not be the last, we will bring our friends to join us for another great experience. The service was supreme, the food delicious and the cocktails amazing too.

Yelp
Nice place in a trendy area. Definitely a ton of history here. Park- affordable vallet. Street parking/meter is parking but not easy to find a spot durning the daytime. Venue- overall nice and cozy. Place was a tad older but comfortable. Food- ordered a steak. Great meat and they were able to cook it perfectly. Exactly as I liked. Bone in ribeye was delicious. Was a tad disappointed they didn't offer cocktails. Just wine and beer. Service- everyone was great. Price- not inexpensive but better than I expected. Came with a friend for lunch and both had the 32oz steak, drinks and the total bill came to a little over $200.00. Overall I would return. Love the steak but would look to uber there next time.

Yelp
Margherita pizza 10/10 cheese was amazing and bread was fluffy Pappardelle fungi, pretty solid, mushrooms were fire and the pasta was nice and garlicky. 8/10. Not at the pasta level of funke's pappardelle Pasta bolognese is an 8, not bad it's solid. Overall would come back for the pizza bc wow. Pasta did not blow me away but was good.

Yelp
First time there Will definitely come back when in the area. A little pricy, but worth the splurge

Yelp
Came here with my mom. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We brought our own bottle of champagne for corkage fee. We ordered the squid appetizer, bolognese, filet mignon, and banana pie dessert. All were delicious! Would come back again for sure

Braedon J.

Yelp
Classic upscale Italian in chic Brentwood locale. Small space, but the place is buzzing on a Saturday night. The pastas are excellent, especially the bolognese, the steaks and fish are first rate as well. Good dessert choices. Friendly, welcoming service navigates between being attentive and giving you your space to talk. It's pricey but if you know that going in, it should not be a big deal. Tou pay for what you get in this world, and this place delivers a nice fine dining experience.

Yelp
There's not much I can say about this Westside institution that hasn't been said here before. Excellent food, ambiance, and service each and every time! The cocktails are expertly crafted, and each dish is amazingly prepared and presented. I can not recommend this place enough. Whether its date night, group outing, or one of their wine pairing events (check website or Instagram), you will never leave here disappointed. Mangia!

Yelp
This restaurant has 4 dollar signs $$$$ on Yelp but I found it to be pretty good value - especially if you come for lunch. At this writing, all of their lunch specials are under $30 - that's a bargain for Brentwood. We ordered the Tuna Niçoise salad and the Sole dish from their lunch specials menu, and a shrimp and scallop pasta from their daily specials. All good! The Petrale Sole was excellent with a very large piece of sole nicely grilled to a tender texture with tomato and greens on the side. Service is on point for a high end restaurant- plenty of staff members all paying good attention to customers. We ordered several drinks along the way and asked for additional pita bread. Never did we have to find a waiter- they seem to be around all the time! Patio dining is right along the sidewalk so inevitably pedestrians would walk by your table, which is okay. Lots of cars and buses also go by so if you sit outside, it's better to sit near the building instead of the street. Coffee and lattes were reasonably priced; but they charge for hot water! Parking is valet only; $10. Overall a very nice dining experience.

Yelp
Great ambiance, solid food, nice location, great service, the host / manager was very friendly and invested. I'd recommend to anyone for a nice upscale date night with quality food!!!

Yelp
I had my birthday here and the food was quite good. I was annoyed that when I called to book it I was crystal clear that I would be having guests that did not know one another and asked if 1) I could order ahead some things for the table on a separate check and 2) asked if groups could have their own checks and I was thoroughly reassured that was fine. 'Course, fellow was not a native English speaker and I triple checked they understood. I mentioned it again when we sat down and the waiter was a bit dismissive. When the bill came, sure enough it was all wrong and only the wine I ordered was on a second check. Once again, the waiter was dismissive. It was loud and he was not helping and actually accidentally spit ( a lot) in my eye. Total accident in a loud restaurant but the whole thing was frustrating along with my two single girls having to pay a tenth of a large group check when all they got was basic pasta. I mean, it was my birthday and my friends didn't care, but the thing is, it was important to me. The food- the food is great. It really is, I have been going forever and the food is great. The lobster pasta was okay but we were hard put to find the lobster in it but the flavor was nice. We ordered several truffle pizzas and the weird thing is they looked absolutely nothing alike nor did they taste equivalent, almost like the truffles and the cheeses were totally different. Everything was tasty and the tiramisu was ahhhhmazing! That said, it could have been better, both the food and service. In my mind now this is a much better date restaurant than it is good for groups, unless maybe you want to bring clients. It's loud and hard to hear and definitely don't have a special request.

Yelp
While the ambiance is made warm by the patrons who frequent this local staple and the host is welcoming; the service does fall short & my waiter took it upon himself to increase the tip I left him which reflected his lack of service- for a $110 corkage fee one would expect the staff to both decant & pour . Our waiter apparently could not be bothered. But imagine my surprise when AMEX notified me an additional charge had come through equaling a 30% tip to said waiter....

Yelp
Upscale sterile vibe. Mediocre ambiance and interior design. We asked to be seated in an available corner table they said it's not available. The whole time we were there nobody sat there. Our waiter was pushy and didn't recommend good dishes. He packed our truffle pizza (the only good thing we ordered) next to the entrance/reception since the table was too tiny to fit everything we ordered and we ended up forgetting it there. Funghi past meh, and clams pasta (recommended by the waiter as their most famous one) was terrible. So called Al dente needs at least another 3 mins to be Al dente. The one I received is undercooked. Clams tiniest ones I've ever seen and the whole dish was dry and bland. No we do not recommend and we won't go back

Yelp
I don't understand the hype of this place. I've wanted to try it for so long as I've heard so many good things but it really was a big disappointment. We had four in our party. Not one of us loved their food. I had pasta pomodoro which was tasty, very simple and the best dish any of us had. I also had minestrone soup which was delicious. For the four of us we had: 3 bowls of soup, 1 pizza, 4 pastas, 3 glasses of wine and one dessert-$300!! What? I don't mind spending $75 per person for dinner but for a very mediocre dinner this place is a hard pass for me. Also the service was just so so. There are just sooooo many great Italian restaurants in LA that I say don't waste your money here.

Faye U.

Yelp
The Food was average at best, but I'm not here to talk about the food. I was billed, and I left a decent tip, but I guess the waiter didn't like it, so he increased to whatever he wanted. Hoping that I wouldn't find out. I called the restaurant two days after I was there once I noticed what the waiter has done, and I spoke to the restaurant manager. He was very apologetic. I was sure it would be rectify promptly. It wasn't. I called in three times over three weeks period. Every time he said that someone it going to call me from the "back office". After more than a month, I went to my credit card company to solve it, because clearly, they aren't capable to solve it themselves. I hope this gets to the restaurant owner. Keep an eye on your bill!

Yelp
Mediocre food for high prices. I don't think they have revamped the menu for a decade or more. Not sure what the uncut veggies on the table are about. Pasta with clams was basic and the steak was so so. I suggest going across the way to Toscana Bar. They have a full bar and the food looked better.

Caroline M.

Yelp
Hi, My friend and I had dinner and drinks in the Toscana bar tonight. When the waiter brought the tab, he asked us to close it out as he had "customers waiting". Then the hostess came over and started pushing tables together when we were still there!. I asked if there was a time limit on the tables and she replied, " I have people waiting to be seated". Well guess what? You're full! We didn't just have drinks or appetizers. We order a full dinner and appetizers and drinks. We should not have been kicked out like that. If there was a time limit on the table, we should have been told before we were seated. Bad business, very disappointed

Yelp
The cuisine is impeccably prepared in this very quaint and amazing restaurant. Every dish is flavorful and generously portioned. The ambiance is perfect and classic old school service. Even if you've never treated yourself to a meal here, you'll be made to feel as though your presence had been missed and welcome back!

Yelp
I had lunch here today with a business associate. Great lunch. The restaurant is pretty small and was packed so definitely recommend making reservations. We shared the grilled calamari (5/5) as an appetizer. Comes on top of an endive salad. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The dish was fantastic. I had the Penne Arrabbiata off their lunch menu. 5/5. The penne was cooked perfectly and the sauce was a good as a tomato based sauce can be. Not much heat to the dish. Highly recommend.

Marc B.

Yelp
Love Toscana. Been going here for the past 30 years, but have become a semi-regular past 2 years. Yes it's expensive, but the prices aren't outrageous. For such a high-end restaurant with such A-list customers, they could charge more - but they don't. Everyone from the GM to the waiters are so nice and welcoming. The food is comforting and outstanding. I love the risotto primavera, gnocchi shrimp, the sea bass, and of course, the awesome bread and pizzas. They even serve fresh and delicious crudite at dinner, like they do in Europe. There are several excellent options for Italian in Brentwood, but after 35 years, Toscana is still the best. Here's to another 35 years, Toscana!

Pamela V.

Yelp
Yum, true authentic Italian food. I do not know what took me so long to visit this place. I am Italian and it's been hard finding a place that makes a good plate of proper Italian pasta but finally I found it. The quality was great, service and of course the food .. they even had cannoli .. my favorite. The artichoke salad was also yummy .!
google avatar

Brooke M.

Yelp
What an incredible and delicious dinner I had last night! Youriy was our server and all the staff was incredibly accommodating.
google avatar

Glydia C.

Yelp
This restaurant has a neighborhood/work lunch feel. The restaurant itself had kind of an odd scent, kind of like they just cleaned with chemicals. It was raining when we went so we sat indoors and it was pouring over the outdoor seating area. The pasta was pretty tasty. We had the special orecchiette with duck but the duck seemed more like a ground beef than duck. The tagliatelle was good but the flavors on the special were better. Service was great.

Kathy T.

Yelp
Every year my daughter and I go to a different restaurant Christmas Eve. This year we chose Toscana not sure why we have never been since it's a local restaurant to us. Fantastic evening the minute we walked through the door the greeting we received was like we've been there before the same for our waiter and the entire team . Now I'm going to talk about the delicious food over the top pasta and the steak oh my. Thank you Toscana for making this Christmas Eve perfect. Can't wait to return. Thanks again by the way if there were 10 stars I would of given you them
google avatar

R. S.

Yelp
For the food you get, I thought it was really expensive. Service was ok and nothing special. I think there are better options.
google avatar

Charisma H.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed because we were so looking forward this meal. It's always been packed whenever we've walked by in the evening and this evening was no different. Packed on Tuesday. So we had some expectations. They were NOT met. Let me explain: We didn't get seated until at least 25min after our reservation. No apologies or any courtesy. What's the point of a reservation if you're not going to honor it? The bread that came out, while well seasoned, was sightly burnt. My pasta had what suspiciously tasted like canned artichokes. My partners pasta while good, wasn't anything special. The bathroom could use more upkeep. We were just one other party that needed attending. Everything just felt sort of rushed. With prices like that, you're paying for the service and ambience both of which were subpar. We really didn't feel like they wanted our patronage. And let me tell you, they're definitely not getting it.

David S.

Yelp
Whats not to love! Great food, great quality , and good service. This restaurant is lovely and exudes elegance. Always has even from the very beginning .
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Sat on the patio and the heat lamps were all I wanted and more. Service was great, very friendly waitress, and food was delicious. There were lots of freebies (dessert pastries, fire focaccia, and a bowl of vegetables on ice??? For some reason?) and the serving sizes were generous. Only minor complaint is we were not offered the option for tap water and ended up paying 10 bucks for bottled.
google avatar

Yelp
Another steak review, here we go: Rarely would I give a five star review that fully earns its five stars, but Toscana provided an impeccable dining experience in nearly every regard. Went here for birthday dinner (just turned 16!) and I was impressed. Food -- ordered the Filet Mignon 10oz. Was expecting a good steak, but not anything fantastic, considering it wasn't a steakhouse. The $60 asking price wasn't all that out of line for a steak of that caliber and size, so I was okay offering a bit of wiggle room on quality. It didn't disappoint. Solid filet mignon. Cooked a little rarer than I would've liked, but "medium" is subjective. Great texturing and perfect charring on the outer edges. Amazing flavor throughout, not overly butter or salty so it was very balanced. REALLY punching above its weight for an Italian restaurant. The sides of spinach and potatoes were a bit mundane, but they did their job, and the mushrooms on top of the steak added some variety. Service -- Probably the best part of this visit! Our waiter was personable and gracious, made us feel right at home. My mom mentioned my birthday, so after we finished our food the waiter brought us a free white chocolate tart that was amazing! He dapped me up before we left lol. Just a really nice guy that did his job well. Food took a little while but definitely not an excessive time by any means. I've heard complaints of bad service, but everyone here was remarkably kind. Right when you get to your table, there's some veggies and dipping sauce already there, which was definitely a nice touch and eased me into the "upscale" feel. Garlic bread is delivered to the table as the complimentary appetizer -- honestly felt like an afterthought but the bread was pretty solid so I can't complain Ambiance -- feels like a classic Italian trattoria. Loud and tight interior; not inherently bad things, just stuff to keep in mind. Felt very authentic though so I don't have any complaints here. This is clearly the atmosphere the restaurant is going for, and it's accomplished very well. Nitpicks: -Took a little long to take our orders -No root beer! My waiter shared my disdain, I opted for Coke instead, not a big deal especially if you're over 21 -As previously mentioned, sort of mediocre sides, but the main central dish compensated more than enough and the pasta dishes shouldn't have this issue -I can see the desire for slightly bigger pasta portions honestly, but I can't speak to this directly since I ordered the steak (and pasta portions are hard to get right) All in all this was an amazing experience and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for solid upscale Italian authenticity. These guys get it right.
google avatar

Marvin M.

Yelp
Impertinent, cold service Food was very ordinary Prices astronomical Absolutely unwelcoming Maitre D As if he were doing us a favor Have no idea why they are still in business I won't return, that's for sure
google avatar

Nicholas V.

Yelp
Food was solid. Not the best but very good for Brentwood. Ambiance = old B- celeb actors and their ex-wives in Louis Vuitton. Service was A+. Authentic and accommodating. Expense was high for any neighborhood in LA. $550 for a 5 person lunch, no drinks. Glad I was expensing a big client (who chose the place:)
google avatar

Spencer K.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite places. I haven't been in a few years, and decided to give it a shot. Service was excellent and the wines we selected (a Pinot noir and a Primitivo) were also very good. The food, however, was quite disappointing. We had the mushroom and sausage polenta. The sausage tasted like your garden variety overly salty supermarket sausage links, though the polenta was very good. The mushrooms lacked the sophisticated nuanced flavour that one has come to expect if you are used to them being very well prepared at other restaurants. The Burrata and prosciutto was very good; both of high quality and taste. We then ordered the pizza with anchovies and we were quite disappointed. I am a big fan of the anchovy, especially the white anchovies one gets at a place like Mozza, but in this case they were the cheaper brown anchovies and not very good ones at that. The pizza itself was passable, though I prefer a crispier crust. My dining companion and I both felt that Toscana was missing a step on this visit and was not as good as it had been in my memory.

Yelp
I have been walking past here for years, enjoying the people watching and meals. Each time I told myself, you will be one of those happy people. Two weeks ago, I became one!! While I ordered take out, I had a wonderful work picnic with my co-workers. We had the Spaghetti Vongole, Spaghetti Pomodoro, and the Gnocchi. We could not have been more pleased. It was with great regret that the meal ever ended! On a side note, the menu has so many seductive choices. My co-worker was between two choices. She chose Vongole; I told her she must because how many times can you tell someone I had a white wine sauce and clams in spaghetti?! We loved it and can't wait to return!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing staff and amazing food, definitely coming back ! Appreciate the hospitality!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
So much to say -- but first off the food was amazing and I loved our server. I can not help but admire the atmosphere as well -- this place is a must if you're in the Brentwood area. Make it your first choice. This place is the most wheelchair friendly spot in the country. My son, who under no circumstances can even think about standing up or shaking hands with very important people was amazed by how easy it was to get in and out of this establishment. That really goes a long way and I appreciate it :) Food, presentation, ambiance, service, everything was great. 5 stars.

Leiah M.

Yelp
Amazing service! The owner (I'm assuming) let me choose where to sit, and was exceptionally nice. Our server was so sweet, and always checked up on us. The food was tasty and filling! The waiters know the perfect wine to pair with every meal. They adjusted the heat temp everytime I asked and the outside seating area was very calm and aesthetically pleasing. Such great service and food!

Yelp
Had the special and it was delicious. Service was amazing. They even had a vip come in without a reservation and the staff handled it with ease. Very enjoyable dinner in a comfortable setting.

Yelp
Toscana is truly one of my all time favorite restaurants in all of LA! Low key, food is consistent and utterly delicious. There isn't one disappointing dish on the menu!

Yelp

Yelp
Toscana is delicious . My husband and I, with or without our children and now our grandchildren have been eating here for 30 years. When our friends are in town from New York or San Francisco even Florence we always take them to Toscana. We have never disappointed anyone with their food. I love the calamari, I love clams and pasta, I love the Dover Sole, I love the Ricotta cheese cake , I love the veal . Some things I don't love and some of the recipes have changed over the years but their food is consistently delicious . Like anywhere especially during the pandemic they were off a little especially the service but I feel so fortunate to have this restaurant in my neighborhood. Thank you .

Yelp
Pretty tasty food here. We had a bunch of salads which I just personally don't care for. We had pizzas next, a margherita and a meat one, quite tasty and cheese tasted really very nice quality. We had a variety of dishes for the mains. I had the meat sauce it was ok, very rich, a little too rich for my taste. The best was penne arriabiata it was really tasty with a slightly unusual taste In a good way. They had some fish which was very tasty too. So I would come back here again...

Yelp
Started out with amazing veggies and dip, Greta wine, great service, and very cute ambiance I always wanted to try and it didn't disappoint. We will go back :) Ps- they even made my daughter a pizza that was not on the menu.... Thank you

Yelp
The service was incredibly slow and they weren't very attentive. Our waiter wasn't very knowledgeable about their wines. They also seat you uncomfortably close to other people. Instead of being bread to the table they brought the weirdest tray of carrots and celery but they weren't plated well. Like it was a full celery stalk and the vegetables did not look washed. It was really odd and did not fit the vibe of a nice Italian restaurant. Their Spaghetti Alle Vongole was not very impressive. The ragu bolognese was better. All in all it was pretty mediocre. I noticed a lot of people were ordering the pizza and meats instead but you would expect an Italian place to be good at pasta. Definitely better places in the area for good Italian.

Javier A.

Yelp
Food was ok. Service was ok. Ate on the sidewalk. Dont know what the big hype is about this place other than the possibility of seeing a celeb.

Stef S.

Yelp
I literally do not have the words to express my disgust with this establishment. My friends and I had dinner reservations at 7:15PM we waited over 3 hours to be told that they ran out of our meal we then ordered something else and same thing. They were not apologetic in the least bit. Meanwhile the owner/manager and his friends (who arrived after us) were seated next to us eating the exact meals we ordered that they had "run out of". Restaurant is loud, horrible ambiance, even worst service. This place is a joke of an establishment and i'll gladly never return.

Yelp
Food was really good as was the wine selections. Our server Mark knew the menu well and made great wine pairing suggestions. The room was a bit loud but that's because they were slammed with happy customers. Our 1st visit and not our last.

Yelp
Good quality Italian food in an upscale environment. The restaurant is within an office building which is a little odd, and in my opinion detracted from the ambience. However, for the space they have, it is decorated nicely (also has a beautiful outdoor area.) Food was high quality, and the veggie platter and bread service was top notch!

Yelp
A very lovely experience! Amazing service. Very delicious food. First we ordered one salad to share, then we saw a table next to us get calamari's, so we decided to get them too. It took literally less than 3 min for the second appetizer to come out. Our server was extremely busy, but that didn't stop him from providing an amazing service to each of us. We had our third friend join us super late, so I ordered food for her. The moment my friend arrived, the server brought out her dish out hot and fresh like it was just ready at a perfect timing. What a way to treat customers!!! Great smiles of the entire stuff. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
It was my belated birthday dinner with my husband. We had a reservation and got there early so we had our seat right away. There was already veggie sticks on the table with vinegar and oil. We wanted to order some cocktails but they only serve wine and beer there and in front of them have a bar but you can't bring cocktails from the bar which is unique. Well, we decided to eat food then go to the bar later. Before my husband ordered the food, he went to the bar and he was going to ask them if he can order dessert at the bar and bring the dessert from restaurant so we can drink at bar. When he was going to do so the manager at restaurant followed him and when my husband just asked a bartender his question and the bartender said yes, at the same time the restaurant manager said "No you can't do that. You can't order drinks here to bring them into restaurant." That's not what my husband wanted to ask!!! I understand since the bar and restaurant(the same Toscana) next each other and so many people tries to bring alcohol from bar to the restaurant before. However the manager can't snap at his customers like that. I wasn't there but my husband told me the story and I asked my husband if the manager apologized him and my husband said no. I was going to tell the manager directly that he owes apology to my husband but he kept talking to someone and at that time I was choosing dessert for myself and my waiter came to talk to me so I told him about it. Our waiter was super apologetic and I appreciated it. He also gave us dessert as compliment. However, the manager was never apologized my husband and I'm sure he heard our complaint from our waiter. So bad customer service. We ordered 2 salads, pasta and pizza. We ordered Inslata Tricolore, Inslata Carciofi, truffle pizza, and Pappardelle ai Funghi. These salads are good enough but not too special and I feel over priced for salads and the tastes. pasta was good a bit too salty for me but different mushroom flavors. There were some spaghetti in our pasta(pappardelle) so ok fine, they boiled all pasta in the same pot. LOL. Truffle pizza was great. We ordered some dessert and not too sweet and it was good. It was too bad to experience bad about the manager and food was ok but salads were overpriced as the quality. I gave two stars because of pizza and our waiter. Place is a bit noisy by all male waiters talking a lot around us. I don't know if we will be back because of the manager.

Yelp
Really good Italian food in the heart of Brentwood. The pasta is amazing and the service is great.

Yelp
I had not been to Toscana in years! I was pleasantly surprised that the establishment has been able to maintain quality and service standards all these years. Excellent food, great service and atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit!
