Of course I'm here because BTS had dined here years ago, but my god, the food is divine, so I completely understand why they came!
We must have beat the rush since we had no wait for a table for two on Sunday at 5 pm (the place started filling up around 5:45 pm). They have an unlimited brisket promotion going on right now for $24.99 per person, so we couldn't pass that up. Woo Hyang Woo's signature item is their tomahawk, so even though we were going to have AYCE brisket, we had to get the tomahawk as well. I went with recommendations from other Yelp reviews and got the small prime tomahawk ($130) and also added kimchi fried rice ($10). We were given some banchan (kimchi, pickled cucumber, potato salad, and salad) as well as rice paper, radish wraps, and soybean soup.
The tomahawk comes sizzling in a cast iron plate, with onions and zucchini. The servers will cook the pieces, slice up the remaining meat off the bone, and start you off with a little of the cooked meat. The plate keeps the meat sizzling hot for a bit and man, is it gooood! I only ate a few pieces so that I can save room for the unlimited plates of brisket and took the rest home to enjoy the next day with my remaining kimchi fried rice. The kimchi fried rice comes in those metal tins reminisant of Korean school lunches (as I've seen in kdramas lol) and had just the right amount of spice and savor to go with the meat.
What I was very impressed by, other than the tomahawk but that was somewhat expected, was the quality of the brisket. I was expecting the AYCE type of quality, but Woo Hyang Woo is serving one of the leanest plates of brisket I've ever had! We went through six and a half (yes, towards the end we wanted a little bit more but couldn't do a full plate) plates and each plate's quality remained the same: lean with just a little bit of fat. The slices weren't thin like other Korean barbecue spots either! I hope they keep this promotion in place when we come back for our next visit because they had the best brisket I've had in a long time!
There's enough room inside for small and large groups. The playlist that night was a mix of k-pop and late 90s/early 00s pop. Service was pretty good too. They changed our grill several times and refilled our water without us having to flag anyone down and it wasn't too hard to put in our next order of brisket.
There's a parking structure next door, but we opted to go hunt for street parking. Just mind the signs to make sure you're not parking in a permit only zone or in a spot with a certain hour limit.
