Stepping into this restaurant, the outside is not what you expect it to look like inside. It's super modern and sleek which is really nice. We came around 6:30 for dinner and unfortunately they only do dim sum menu for lunch so we missed it. Regardless, we ordered 4 dishes.
First the Kung po tofu. Here is the description for the Kung po tofu off the menu: Fried Tofu, Bell Pepper, Bamboo Diced, Water Chestnut, Dried Chili, Peanuts, Garlic, Spicy Kung Po Sauce. Tofu texture was a little softer than I was expecting but still had a crunch outside, very velvety inside. There was bell pepper slices, no water chestnut, lots of dried chili, no peanuts, lots of fried garlic, and the spicy sauce is just sweat Thai chili sauce. I'd give it a 7/10.
Next the seafood hot and sour soup. I actually really enjoyed this. Here is the description for the soup: Shrimp, Scallop, Wood Ear Mushroom, Tofu, Bamboo Shoot, Green onion, Egg Drop. It was a great size, definitely can split between 4 people. Flavor was great and I really enjoyed it. 8/10, just because it was more sour than hot.
The XO prawns. Prawn, Asparagus, Snap Peas, Bell Pepper, Xo Spicy Sauce. Not sure what the XO spicy sauce is supposed to be because it was extremely mild. Had to ask for chili oil. We left this nearly untouched. Also I wish this came with rice but I get why it doesn't since there's a fried rice you can order. 5/10.
Lastly the beef chow fun. Everything was cooked well. The beef was bouncy and chewy and the noodles were not undercooked or overcooked. The bean sprouts were still crunchy which is the best. Sadly it was seriously lacking in flavor and maybe under salted. 6/10.
I understand Cantonese food tends to be a bit more mild, especially when it comes to spice so I'm definitely taking that into consideration. I'm really excited to try to come here again to try their dim sum menu!
