"Housed in a restored 1940s roadside lodge about a 10‑minute drive from Joshua Tree’s north entrance, this intimate 12‑room property (opened April 2025) channels a cozy, rustic desert aesthetic with terra‑cotta floors, hand‑painted tiles, a botanic mural and a warm, desert‑hued palette. Rooms were designed like private residences with built‑in banquettes and gas fireplaces; six open to private patios facing windswept rock formations, Mojave yucca and clay‑colored sands. The revamped motel also features a classic pool, a shop selling desert provisions and handcrafts, and a lobby that functions as a living room stocked with books on birding, astronomy, geology and nature.
