"A Lexington hotel that opened a limited-run, Queen’s Gambit–inspired 'Harmon Room' designed to evoke the show’s 1960s aesthetic: chess-themed custom wallpaper called “The Knight’s Gambit,” a chessboard mounted above the king-size bed echoing Beth Harmon’s hallucinations, midcentury furniture sourced from private collections and a local antique shop, reproductions of the fictional Lex Liquors tote bags, a fully stocked bar, vintage Chess Review magazines on loan for guests to browse, and an in-room chessboard made by a local nonprofit woodshop and offered for purchase. The installation was created in partnership with the local tourism board and designers, is bookable for a limited period through spring/early summer 2021, and includes a complimentary tote." - Lyndsey Matthews
