"In 2017 a century-old grain silo on the V&A Waterfront was transformed into a design-forward boutique retreat by Thomas Heatherwick and Liz Biden, featuring 28 individually styled suites with gilt mirrors, contemporary African art, crystal chandeliers, and freestanding bathtubs. The renovation added a saltwater, T-shaped glass-sided pool 184 feet above the city on the 11th floor, offering panoramic views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and the harbor that make floating on a striped cushion feel especially scenic on warm days." - Kathryn Romeyn, Nicholas DeRenzo
