Its founder, Denver entrepreneur Jim Deters, positioned it as a community-focused, eco-conscious alternative to typical mountain lodging: rooms are affordably priced (rates advertised from about $120), stocked with sustainably made throw blankets and zero-waste bath products, and include a book to spark conversation.
