"Farther down the street is newcomer Kimpton Taconic Hotel, whose design reflects the brand's penchant for eclecticism, but still captures that cozy New England charm with touches of wood, plaid, and local artwork. Rooms are comfortable (with cottages to rent, for more privacy), in which you can book private spa treatments. And the restaurant, The Copper Grouse, has a formidable menu. We struggled between picking the ancient grain risotto (with seasonal vegetables, local kale, shaved local cheese, and green tahini sauce) and locavore meat and cheese plate (enough said)."
