"Padang Padang is a small-ish beach that's the starting point to reach surf breaks, as well as a launching site for fishermen on pastel outrigger boats. The best time to come here is early in the morning, as the sun rises and before the crowds. With mounds of rocks protruding out from the smooth sand, the scenery here is lovely and dramatic. The sheltered bay makes the water perfect for a swim; you can also try your hand at surfing—there are plenty of surf schools with great instructors." - Anna Chittenden
