"Long before Oak Cliff became synonymous with Cool Dallas, before Davis Street went into decline and then came back again, there was Norma's, an all-day beacon for giant breakfasts and chicken fried steaks, smothered in cream gravy; the neighborhood may have changed more than once, but Norma's sure hasn't, serving up classic coffee shop vibes, and cinnamon rolls big enough for two people sharing. More recently, owner Ed Murph—who grew up in the neighborhood and bought Norma out a few decades ago now—has overseen the expansion of the Norma's brand into the 'burbs; the vintage Oak Cliff location (grab a seat at the counter, and make small talk with the servers) is most certainly the one you want." - David Landsel
