"The grand dame of Zurich, this Old World-made-modern hotel is the spot where well-heeled visitors roll up for a buzzy bar, serious wellness, and panoramic views of the city below. This isn’t a walkable heart-of-the-city type of spot. Rooms in the historic building go a bit cozier, with pops of tangerine and patterns, though there's a minimalism across all of the rooms with lots of ivory and dark wood details. In the new wings, though, expect a sleeker feel brought on by chrome details and white leather. If you don't visit the spa, you've really wasted a visit to the Dolder Grand. It's 4,000 square meters for starters, and you'll find a sauna, steam bath, foot bath, aroma pool, steam pots, plunge pool, snow room, and even an outdoor terrace. Look up as your car pulls into the drive—there’s a moment where it feels like you might fall off the edge of the world, in a fantastic way." - Stacey Lastoe
