Around here, it’s pretty difficult to pull off a cocktail bar or restaurant that keeps the regulars coming. Yet with its kitsch-infused ambience, thoughtful cocktail program, and decadent southern-inspired eats, Trina's Starlite Lounge hits the mark and never goes out of style. Nice; we love an original. What's the crowd like? Trina's attracts Somerville young professionals, creative types, and folks looking to escape Boston's more mainstream watering holes. Got it. What are we drinking? Whether it's craft cocktails, local beers, or affordably priced bottles of wine, a rotating menu offers something to regulars and newcomers alike. Drink names are especially cheeky: the trop-ic like it’s hot, for instance, has house-infused pineapple rum, jalapeño, key lime, and bitters. Cute names. How about the eats? The food packs big punches of flavor and nostalgia. Standouts include the award-winning Tokyo turkey burger (with purple cole slaw, American cheese, red onion, chile bbq sauce, and house made pickles), the corn dog, and the hand-cut chili cheese fries. But arguably the best dish is the pickle-brined fried chicken—with hot pepper syrup for dinner and on a biscuit for brunch. I'll never say no to fried chicken. And how was the service? Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, the affable staff will make you feel like a local. Trina’s prides itself on excellent service. Sounds pretty perfect. All in all, why are we coming here?
