"Let’s start big picture. Situated at the Delano Hotel tower, which itself is part of the massive Mandalay Bay resort, the Delano Beach Club is a quiet respite from the usual glitz of the Strip. It is reminiscent of its Miami predecessor in that white is the dominant furniture color and that there’s a large in-water chess-set sculpture. But otherwise, it’s a lovely and mellow place to dry out for the day. Any standout features or must-sees? That in-water chessboard is a big hit, if only for photo ops, but the pool deck also has a handful of hammocks spread throughout. The cabanas come with a fun assortment of amenities like pool toys, non-alcoholic drinks and TVs, while Delano Bites serve caters to all appetites from gluten-free salads to loaded nacho plates. Who can use the pool? The Delano Beach Club is located off the larger Mandalay Bay Beach area. Guests of the Delano also get access to the Mandalay Bay Beach area. All said and done, what—and who—is this best for? Booking a room at the Delano is kind of a win-win when it comes to the pool scene. You can choose to be mellow at Delano Beach Club or you can decide to get a little more wild at Mandalay Bay Beach where there’s a wave pool, an actual sandy beach, an adults-only oasis and full-on concerts in the summertime." - Juliana Shallcross
