"Why book? Playful, modern design, fun programming, and great proximity to some of the Loop’s best sites and entertainment. Set the scene This hotel underwent a total renovation in June 2023, complete with a new design concept and high-end amenities. Step into the lobby and take in the bright, towering space, with floor-to-ceiling windows, 38-foot-tall columns, and a 12-foot live floral installation. Discover other high-design accents and thoughtful touches throughout the property, from the fitness center and spa to its dining venues and event spaces. The backstory The hotel serves as the flagship property of ECD Company and is managed by SMASHotels—both owned and operated by Chicago developer Scott Greenberg. Known as a nightlife destination since its 2009 opening, the recent transformation brings with it innovative features and engaging design—all inspired by a lifestyle of travel, collecting, and art. The rooms Guest rooms are outfitted with plenty of upscale comforts, including Centium Satin bed linens, Lynova terry towels, and premium bath amenities—plus modern touches like an in-room Amazon Echo (set up for concierge services and hotel information). Those looking for a particularly luxe stay can book the Paramount Suite, encompassing two full bathrooms, a roomy corner bedroom, and a separate living area with views of State Street and The Chicago Theater. Food and drink The hotel’s signature, tavern-style restaurant State and Lake features locally sourced, contemporary bistro fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the 27th floor, visit ROOF on theWit, a rooftop bar with panoramic city views, curated entertainment, and a striking retractable roof (part of the space’s internationally acclaimed design). Come to kick off (or wind down) your night, or visit for a lively weekend brunch. The spa Located on the 5th floor, Spa@theWit serves as an urban sanctuary with notable city views. Block off a morning and select from an array of treatments, from massages and facials to body wraps and nail services—many of which can be customized to guest preferences. The neighborhood/area Situated in the heart of the Loop, the hotel is within blocks of shopping, theatre, and some of downtown’s top attractions (including all of those found at Millennium Park, a 10-minute walk). The service Guests can check in with an Experience Architect “Concierge” for assistance with itineraries, whether it’s a day of back-to-back sightseeing or a relaxed evening at the theatre. Eco effort The hotel uses water-efficient shower heads, LED lighting, and motion sensor thermostats. Accessibility There are 20 rooms that are hearing accessible and 12 ADA-accessible rooms. The team provides specific ADA training to its associates, and the outlets and spa are fully ADA-compliant with tables, counters and massage tables. Anything left to mention? Keep an eye on Roof on theWit’s calendar—they host special events and programming for holidays and throughout the year, including performances and world-class DJs."
