Belmont Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival? This historic hotel, built in 1946, is a boutique icon in Dallas. The Belmont's popularity goes far beyond its rooms, thanks to its great bar, views of downtown, and restaurant. I finally booked a room on a night when I had tickets to a concert at the nearby Kessler Theater. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Creatives of all kind. How was check in?My 3 p.m. check-in was easy breezy and I was enjoying the view from my balcony in a matter of minutes. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.I booked a king suite with a great view of downtown. I spent most of my time in the room outside on the balcony reading, as the Texas heat wasn't in full force. The decor is minimalist to say the least but I had no complaints as far my comfort level goes. The C.O. Bigelow toiletries were a nice touch, too, that I wasn't necessarily expecting. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? There's complimentary, speedy Wi-Fi, pet-friendly rooms upon request, and a noon check-out. Room service and food: Worth it?The hotel restaurant, Smoke, offers modern Texas cuisine and some of the best barbecue in town. You can dine in the restaurant for brunch, lunch, or dinner or call and have it brought to your room. The Lobby Bar is the ideal place to kick back and enjoy a beer, cocktail, or glass of wine before you head into the Bishop Arts District for a concert or event. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The bartender for the creation of the perfect Bloody Mary. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. This hotel's view of the downtown Dallas skyline is next level and can be enjoyed from both the pool and the bar. Its proximity to the Bishop Arts District makes it an ideal place for a quick staycation if you find yourself in the neighborhood for live music or an art show."
