"First impression?Peacekeeper, a trendy new bi-level bar, boasts design elements as notable as the cocktails, both with a dash of Oaxacan flare. Located in Lower Nob Hill, the bar has a design trifecta of gray concrete, blonde wood, and dangling plants, which blend in perfectly with the natural light that floods the space. The effect: an ideal bar to linger for daytime drinks. So who’s there? If Peacekeeper were in, say, SoMa, the crowd might be too clique-ish, but thankfully the Lower Nob Hill location attracts a warm, congenial neighborhood crowd. How are the drinks?Tequila-focused cocktails anchor the ever-evolving menu. Flavor profiles are consistently bright, fresh, and balanced, thanks to ingredients like shrubs, berries, and spices. Cases in point: The Goddaughter, with tequila, berry shrub, citrus, and egg white, as well as the Desert Queen, with bourbon, grapefruit, shrub, ancho, and lemon. Worth ordering something to eat, too?The only snacking option here is chips and chipotle salsa. Did the staff do you right? At peak times, it can take a minute to get the staff’s attention. When you finally do, they’re all yours. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for?The airy space and refreshing cocktails might seem best for warm afternoons, but a fireplace and retractable roof makes Peacekeeper surprisingly cozy on foggy San Francisco days, too." - Jenna Scatena
