"Why book? Offering recently renovated rooms and a location within a block of Albuquerque’s one of the city’s top tourist attractions, the affordable Hotel Albuquerque radiates the city’s Hispanic influences.  Set the scene As the Duke City’s 300-year-old founding neighborhood, Old Town is an epicenter for Albuquerque’s heritage and evolution from a Spanish settlement to a city. (Indigenous peoples predated the Spanish.) Hotel Albuquerque appeals to sneaker-clad guests ready for touring and to name-tagged convention goers taking coffee breaks from the hotel’s ample meeting spaces.  The backstory As an outpost of Heritage Hotels and Resorts 10-strong boutique hotel collection, Hotel Albuquerque captures “Albuquerque Style.” The city’s Spanish founding, territorial era, and history as a tuberculosis sanitarium hotspot influence the hotel’s architecture and décor as reflected in its entry tower, Grand Sala (a cathedral-like lobby with second story windows), and manicured gardens.   The rooms Fresh off a million-dollar, pandemic-era renovation, the 188 guest rooms have new flooring, bathroom fixtures, furniture, and linens. The rooms are Old Town-meets-modern, with leather-look headboards, and concrete black-and-white-tiled bathrooms with glass-doored showers. The high-rise rooms on the north side overlook the city; those on the south side offer views of the Rio Grande and Old Town.  Food and drink In-house restaurant Garduños serves standard New Mexican fare and generously sized margaritas for pool-side sipping, but Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque is a culinary and entertainment standout. The purpose-built, intimate venue presents flamenco performances Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Produced by National Institute of Flamenco musicians and dancers, the shows come a side of sangria and Spanish-style tapas. Book in advance for tables, or a spot on the red velvet banquet, with the best vantage of the stage.  The neighborhood/area Old Town Albuquerque is a must-visit for any traveler. There, centuries-old adobe homes serve as shops, galleries, and restaurants. Kitschy souvenirs and fine art are equally available. Stop in Plaza Don Luis, a more recent neighborhood addition, for a fresh batch of craft breweries, local wine tasting rooms, and contemporary galleries.  The service Hotel service is friendly and prompt. The lobby houses the box office for TourABQ, a multi-faceted guiding company with best-of-the-city tours hosted on a stucco-covered trolley and boozy ghost walks. For families Families can access a handful of adjoining rooms and splash into a large outdoor swimming pool. Several family friendly activities, including Explora science center and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, are within easy reach.  Eco effort Hotel Albuquerque participates in the Clean the World Foundation program, which donates discarded body products from guest rooms to vulnerable people around the globe. It keeps these hygiene supplies out of landfills in the process.  Accessibility Guests with disabilities will find a public spaces ADA compliant and select guest rooms available." - Ashley M.
