"What did you see on arrival?Pulling into the circular drive of the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, nearly a dozen doormen stand ready to help you out of the car, assist with your bags, and offer you water. Inside the rotunda lobby, high-backed chairs surround small tables and guests sit in hushed conversation. The marble floors, giant planters, and neutral tones (with the occasional pop of orange) are more or less what you'd expect. What kind of crowd can we expect?Leisure travelers in town for a shopping spree love this hotel—it’s an easy half-mile walk along Peachtree Road to Lenox Square (David Yurman, Escada) and Shops Around Lenox (Lululemon, Draper James). It’s also close to beloved local spas such as Sweet Peach and Swatch Box. Maybe it’s the pillow-top beds, the separate shower and tub, or the tasteful potted plants. Regardless, the feel is decidedly less antiseptic than your standard big-box hotel room.
