"One of our haunts became the Potting Shed, a low-slung warren of a pub with exposed beams and battered furniture. It’s five minutes on foot from The Rectory, under the same ownership, and it has a similar off-handed charisma—though the venison chop is good, it’s the card-playing, dog-patting locals who make the place memorable."
