"I usually end up playing at ageHa, which is a little outside of Tokyo. But what really makes this a great venue is the crowd. The Japanese crowd gives you so much respect. I pull the volume down to talk to them and everyone shushes to get quiet. They're listening intently, they're maybe drinking—maybe—so they're totally with you. That sense of connectedness is so strong, and I can have a crystal clear conversation with them through my music."
