"This lodge was a dream—as in, I’m still waiting for someone to wake me up and bring me back to reality. In the Great Rift Valley, just beside the entrance to the Masai Mara, it sits atop cliffs overlooking the grasslands. We’re talking spot-giraffes-over-your-eggs-Benedict kind of views; and unlimited game drives included in your stay, so you can get on a first-name basis with the lions who call this part of Kenya home. The service was undeniably top notch, and I will be thinking about the staffers, who were so generous in teaching me about Kenya, for a very long time. Do the walking safari, don’t miss the al fresco barbecue dinner, and make sure to take your showers before it gets dark—they are perfectly designed to deliver panoramic vistas of the reserve."
