"Originally built in 1962 on the quiet shores of Mission Bay, this was Hilton’s first resort property and focused on laid-back luxury. That focus remains the same, but when Noble House took over in 2020, they redid everything from top to bottom. Rooms got new bedding and decor, restaurants were completely made over, and the $32 million renovation was finished in June 2021 from Texas-based design group Waldrop+Nichols Studio. With 284 guest rooms, 65 studios, five one-bedroom suites, and three two-story suites, travel groups of all sizes and budgets can find what floats their fancy. The most popular guest rooms are the Garden Studios, which feature a kitchenette and bay view from the Garden by the Bay lawn. The lawn is often busy with activities like yoga, so for something a little cozier, try one of the Fire Pit studio guest rooms, which include a private patio and complimentary bundle of firewood." - Archana Ram, Beth Demmon
