"Located on the pale-ochre sands of Piscinas beach about an hour’s drive from Cagliari, this 28-room hotel occupies a former Ingurtosu mine warehouse and blends a sleek, contemporary aesthetic with the area’s industrial past and Sardinian craftsmanship. Designers Antonio Gardoni and Luca Platto introduced bespoke oak and wicker furnishings, artisanal textiles and original stone walls and a grand fireplace in the lounge; rooms feature cast iron beds, white linens and sand-tinted Orosei marble floors with bas-relief walls that reference local traditions. There are two restaurants—casual Il Ginepro and the more gourmet Rosso Tramonto with walls painted by Federico Carta—plus a gym, a small spa and an outdoor pool." - Nicky Swallow, Lucrezia Worthington
