"A California-grown pan-Asian supermarket is opening its first New York City proper location in Flushing at 37-11 Main Street (between 37th and 38th avenues). The market will occupy 22,000 square feet and offer a wide array of pan-Asian foods, snacks, products, produce, meats, seafood, baked goods, condiments, and more. The company was founded in 1984 in Westminster by Roger Chen and has expanded to more than 60 locations nationwide; the three closest stores to New York City are in Jersey City and Hackensack (New Jersey) and Westbury (Long Island), and the company opened a new location in Aliso Viejo, California, in April. The Main Street address most recently housed a location of the national chain Hong Kong Supermarket (which closed in 2024; the Chinatown location remains open) and, before that, Busy Bee Mall. There is no scheduled opening date as of yet, and the initial reporting came from the Real Deal while Eater has reached out for more information." - Nadia Chaudhury
