"Located in Shaw across from the iconic 9:30 Club in the old Falafel Bros spot, this hot new sub shop comes from Virginia natives and industry vets Adam Campbell and Will Brancati; Campbell, the former executive chef of Rappahannock Oyster Co. with a barbecue background, assembles sandwiches with slow-roasted pork, charred steak, crispy chicken schnitzel, and spicy condiments all made on site. A short-and-strong list of opening hero sandwiches pays homage to “heroic” dragon slayers (see: the meatball Mario and turkey-and-roast beef King Arthur). There are also veggie varieties, soups, salads, and sides.
