"On South La Brea Avenue I often see a line out the door as early as 9 a.m. for the neighborhood brunch spot Met Her at a Bar, which has been serving crowds since it opened in 2017. I’ve watched customers rave about the uber-popular Thai fried chicken and waffles — made with homemade waffle batter, tom yum seasoning, and crispy basil — and the khai jiao, a Thai omelet filled with maple sausage, jasmine rice, fresh tomato, and sriracha; the wafflebello sandwich, with portobello mushroom, fried egg, vegetables, and cilantro aioli, is another local favorite. The place keeps a homey, neighbor-first vibe (the owners live nearby and know their regulars), has stayed busy through word of mouth with no outside PR team, and is even preparing to expand Met Her to Main Street in Santa Monica soon." - Taylor Kocher
