"I’ve got the latest on Jollibee’s long-awaited downtown San Francisco location: the chain remains committed to opening in the former Payless shoe store on Market Street near Union Square, but the timeline is pretty wishy-washy — the property’s business manager says the company aims to open in late November or December this year, or, at the latest, by April of next year, and I’m giving that ETA a fair dose of side-eye. The Business Times reports that city permitting processes have slowed things down, and Jollibee also believed it needed a permit from BART because the basement shares a wall with the Powell Street station; it applied for one, but the permit turned out to be unnecessary." - Justine Jones
