Staples such as souvlaki, lamb chops and the dips are reliable highlights, and an intriguing Tetramythos Organic Retsina makes a strong impression. Yet several dishes miss the mark: black-eyed peas with chard need better draining and brighter seasoning, fried courgettes would benefit from being served straight from the oil with tzatziki, and the red mullet on the day felt like it had likely been frozen.
