"Megan Kimble of Austin Monthly paid a visit to La Matta this week, and was reminded of the things Italians do right. She claims that the East Sixth casual Italian shop proves that “love sometimes arrives in the form of a sandwich.” Kimble enjoyed La Matta’s “fresh” panini on “delicious” baguettes. She also notes the charcuterie is “fantastic,” writing that: She particularly recommended the No. 10 with soppressata, burrata, eggplant, ’nduja sausage, and basil, and felt that vegetarians would be satisfied with the No. 11 panini (grilled eggplant, roasted peppers, olive pâté, avocado, and basil on a wheat baguette). She also enjoyed the salads, particularly the kale salad with mango and endive and a side of “fluffy” burrata." - Erin Russell
