"After nearly 30 years, the cult-favorite vegan restaurant Grasshopper in Allston is shutting down on May 29; owner Hoai Nguyen told Boston.com that the restaurant’s lease had been terminated and there was another prospective tenant willing to pay higher rent, though a landlord representative disputed that and said the lease was ending naturally and they did not want to renew due to ongoing property maintenance issues and unpaid rent. Nguyen hopes to re-open Grasshopper in another location, ideally in Allston or Brighton." - Erika Adams
