"After nearly 30 years, the cult-favorite vegan restaurant Grasshopper in Allston is shutting down on May 29; owner Hoai Nguyen told Boston.com that the restaurant’s lease had been terminated and there was another prospective tenant willing to pay higher rent, though a landlord representative disputed that and said the lease was ending naturally and they did not want to renew due to ongoing property maintenance issues and unpaid rent.
