"A Guy Fieri–branded fast-casual fried-chicken spot that just opened in North Dallas, this outpost centers on long, extra-long chicken-tender strips—most notably the B.L.A.T. (bacon, lettuce, avocado crema, and tomato)—which look photogenic as they flop out of the bun but sit awkwardly and often force you to bite the chicken before the bun. The sandwich is undermined by an overabundance of shredded iceberg lettuce and an avocado crema that’s too mild to read as real avocado. The standout feature is the wide array of sauces: one free with an order and many more available à la carte; in-house offerings like the buttermilk ranch (thin, dill-forward and homemade-tasting), honey mustard, chipotle ranch, garlic Parmesan, and the garlic aioli (“donkey sauce”) elevate otherwise ordinary sandwiches, while some shipped-in sauces (brown sugar barbecue, Buffalo) disappoint. Seasoned fries and fried pickles do what they promise and are fun to dunk, the slaw is fresh and lightly dressed, and the menu also includes salads and novelty milkshakes. Overall, it’s not life-changing—more a reliable, hungry-person’s chicken sandwich—but the sauces are where most of the Flavortown excitement lives." - Courtney E. Smith
