"A mere 20-minute drive from Chapel Hill or 45 minutes from Raleigh, the bar at the Fearrington House Restaurant is still swanky, but not as fancy as the main dining room. It’s worth the drive for the eight-ounce, square-shaped, grass-fed burger. The patty’s accoutrements — a tangy homemade take on A1 sauce, crisp vinegary pickles, caramelized onions, and a bun dotted with everything bagel seasoning — are what take it from great to exceptional. The Fearrington’s full wine list is available in the bar, and the sommelier on staff will gladly help find a wine that’s just as good as the burger.
