"This La Porte seafood restaurant has reopened six weeks after being forced to close due to the ITC chemical fire. Owner Bob Laws reported discarding $17,000 worth of seafood and other kitchen staples and hiring an environmental firm to test soil and water for contamination. In a public statement he emphasized that the restaurant does not—and never has—served fish or shrimp caught from the Houston Ship Channel or Galveston Bay, and that they purchase only from certified, inspected seafood wholesalers." - Amy McCarthy
