"Originally launched as a popular ice cream truck a few summers ago, Milk & Froth is opening a brick-and-mortar storefront in downtown Detroit on Monday, July 5, in Bedrock’s historic Buhl Building. Owners Alexis Matteson and Deion Cao started the business after living downtown and not finding the quality of ice cream they loved in other major cities; they make both vegan and classic ice cream from scratch without pre-manufactured mixes, chemical stabilizers, or artificial colors and flavors. Responding to customers asking how they can get their ice cream year-round, the new shop will serve more than a dozen rotating flavors — including honeycomb, butterscotch brownie, matcha pistachio, malt cherry chocolate, orange cream, salted caramel, chocolate hazelnut, and Blue Magic — and will be open noon to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday." - Monica Williams
