"Set to open in January 2026 near Amazon HQ2, this wine bar and vinyl listening lounge channels a “golden age of travel and exploration,” complete with a glamorous midcentury air-travel aesthetic: the bar resembles an airplane wing cross-section and a centrally located audiophile listening room will spin a curated collection of vinyl. An on-site sommelier will guide guests through everything from cult classics to cellar-worthy vintages, with weekly events like blind wine tastings, “around the world” pours, and “listening live” nights. Backed by chef Brad McDonald (with experience at French Laundry and Noma), a Mediterranean-leaning menu—originally billed as Italian only—features pastas, various small European plates, and a spotlight on Spanish tapas. Located on the ground floor of the two-level project at 2011 Crystal Drive, it sits beside an incoming pedestrian bridge to DCA and the planned VRE/Amtrak station." - Tierney Plumb
