"Reincarnated from the beloved Bar Brunello after the pandemic, this new wine bar brings back familiar faces — longtime bartender Sergio Ramos has joined Esteban Brunello as co-owner — and many of the hard-to-find wines the original was known for. The bar has moved a couple blocks into the center of Durham, occupying the former Jeddah’s Tea space on CCB plaza, and will open at 123 Market Street, Suite A on Thursday, October 20 at 4 p.m. Customers can expect a similar vibe and house-like service (Esteban says he wants guests to feel like they are coming to his house to drink wine), but with a smaller, more detailed bottle list rather than the roughly 1,000 bottles the old space held. The list regularly features small-scale wines from Croatia, Lebanon, and Mexico alongside an extensive selection of Italian wines, and the owners hope the new, more central location will expose many new faces to these outside-the-box selections." - Matt Lardie
