"This venue is celebrating its 25th anniversary and opened the 2025 season with several upgrades intended to improve the ballpark experience. Upgrades include improved Tiger Den seating, semi-private loge box seating, and the installation of a Home Plate Club VIP area behind home plate with 350 luxury seats equipped with heating and cooling abilities, plus plans for a bar and restaurant situated underneath the stadium; the Home Plate Club and loge-box space is expected to be completed this summer and will offer exclusive access to ticket holders. Take note that access to this section is premium-priced: according to The Detroit News, seats in the Home Plate section start at $200 a game, or $16,200 for the season. The venue’s food-and-beverage partner continues to pay homage to metro Detroit’s dining scene, from juicy smash burgers and hefty barbecue sandwiches to bread-free jerk chicken and mango sandwiches wrapped in leafy greens. New and returning concessions for 2025 include a smash-burger concept made with a proprietary blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck and featuring two super-thin patties, American cheese, diced onions, and special sauce on a Martin’s roll; a Chickpea Power Bowl with rice, chickpeas, tabouleh, garlic sauce, hummus, and pita chips (with an add-on chicken option); expanded presence from a Corktown barbecue stalwart offering sandwiches such as the Reason (pulled pork in North Carolina barbecue sauce with slaw and dill pickles), the Yardbird (smoked chicken, applewood smoked bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and cheddar) and Put Me In Coach (shredded brisket in Kansas City–style barbecue sauce); and a local vendor rolling out a menu of bread-free sandwiches wrapped in leafy greens, including jerk chicken with peach mango salsa wrapped in Swiss chard, turkey with avocado spread and champagne vinaigrette, smashed falafel with spicy aioli and pickled turnips, plus a Southwest rice bowl with protein choices like oven-roasted or jerk chicken, falafel, or house-braised beef. A rotation of locally operated food trucks will appear during select homestands. Promotions and guest amenities include a Miller Lite Home Run Happy Hour during the first hour after gates open on Comerica Landing (with $5 water, $3 peanuts and hot dogs, and specials on 16-ounce beers), party-plaza and party-deck packages with buffet-style meal options for group reservations, and a mobile-wallet ordering option that gives qualifying cardholders skip-the-line benefits and a $25 credit when they connect the bank card to the stadium mobile wallet in the official MLB app; the mobile wallet can be used to order and pick up concessions and for in-seat ordering at select seats." - Serena Maria Daniels
